  1. @ Sniper Reload3d , I'd prefer not to have to limit my CPU count on Steam. I wonder how that is going to effect Flight Simulator? But I simply could not get RockSmith to work with the DLL alone. Could it be something related to the particular model of CPU i have? Regardless, I have it working now. When the next DLL becomes available, I'll reset the affinity to use all cores again & see if it works. But for now, I am good. Thanks for all the help you and @ Nick Beat are providing. It is really appreciated. And thanks to the Devs that provided the DLL.
  2. I'm having the problem you have with a 13700HX. I saw @ Sniper Reload3d 's post below about setting a processor affinity. I found the utility ProcessLasso from https://bitsum.com/ that makes setting cpu affinity a snap. And in their FAQs they mention using it to set the affinity on steam.exe, so maybe this will work. The utility has a free version that includes CPU affinity rules. I don't have time to test it tonight, but I will update the thread if I can get it to work. I think I'll start by limiting steam.exe to only use the 16 P-cores and then work my way down from that. Update: After reading further in the threads, I see the new .dll worked for @ Vjeshitza , but for whatever reason, it wouldn't work for me. Using the 117KB "new" DLL and RS would crash when I tried to play a song. But, setting my CPU affinity to only use 0-7 did fix it. So I'm still using the new DLL, and I set my affinity, and now RockSmith works for me again.
  3. Audacity is a free audio editor that has been around for quite a while. Intel created AI plugins to remove noise, split audio files into tracks (vocals/instruments, vocals/drums/bass/everything-else), transcribe spoken words (maybe even lyrics?) and even remix the audio file. The plugins are free! Intel decided to use Audacity as one of its demos of on-pc AI. https://www.pcworld.com/article/2191723/audacitys-cool-audio-ai-tools-are-now-free-for-you-to-try.html https://www.audacityteam.org/blog/openvino-ai-effects/ From the audacity installation instructions: https://github.com/intel/openvino-plugins-ai-audacity/releases Download the two zip files below (Audacity-OpenVINO-Module-3.4.2-R1.zip, openvino-models.zip) Copy the contents of these zip files to the folder where Audacity.exe has been installed. E.g. C:\Program Files\Audacity. After all files files from both zip files have been copied, run Audacity.exe. Inside of Audacity, go to Edit -> Preferences, select Modules, change mod-openvino from New to Enabled, and press OK. Close Audacity. Re-Open Audacity. Your OpenVINO modules should now be enabled. You can check this by making sure that OpenVINO AI Effects show up in Effects menu. I tried this out last night and it works great. Using "Amazing Grace" by the Blind Boys of Alabama, I separated the bass and vocals into separate tracks. To my ear, both were perfect. Neither had artifacts from other instruments, the vocals were absolutely clear, the bass didn't have any extraneous notes. That song was relatively simple as far as instruments/effects/mixing is concerned. So next I tried "The Power Of The One" by Bootsy Collins. Not as much luck with this one. I think because the bass is run through a number of effects, and the keyboards are also playing bass lines, the AI was having some trouble distinguishing them. But that song has a lot going on in it, so I'm not surprised there was some difficulty. The thing is, this is free, so it is worth trying out. You do need a computer with an Intel 11th gen (or later) CPU, though.
  4. if you are only using Steam for RockSmith on a particular PC, you might consider blocking Steam in your firewall after you get RockSmith working again. That way you don't accidentally start it in "online" mode instead of "offline." I'm sure Steam will eventually require you to go online so it can do its own audit, but maybe this temporary fix will prevent any unintended updates to RockSmith until this is worked out. Just remember to enable Steam in your firewall when you have to let it phone home again.
  5. I can't wait to try it out James. Thank you. I appreciate it. If you ever decide to host a training session on how to do this, please add me to the attendee list. I'd love to get started, and I have read through the online tutorial, but am a bit reluctant. For instance, I have no idea why one song is in E and another is in E-flat (I get drop-D). I'm sure there are others like me that would give this a try with a walkthrough where we could ask a few questions along the way.
  6. Awesome!!! Thank you!
  7. Bass for me. I've played many of your creations James, and they have all been great. If you have time for How Soon Is Now, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, and thanks for the the library of work you have already shared. How this song was ever a B-Side is one of life's great mysteries.
  8. The Smiths - How Soon Is Now Thanks to all the creators of CDLC!
