  1. raynebc's post in EoF changing fingerings on save was marked as the answer
Generally EOF imports the fingerings as defined in the GP file, but if a chord has no defined fingering EOF will come up with some on its own.

One quick way to look for fingering differences is to enable the Bandfuse color set (File>Preferences>Preferences) and then the note coloring will reflect which finger each note is fretted with: Open string = purple, index = green, middle = red, ring = yellow, pinky = blue, thumb = orange. If a note's fingering isn't defined, EOF will guess based on any fret hand position in effect, otherwise if no suitable fingering is determined, the note is drawn in white. If the note uses tap technique, it is drawn in black.

At the very least, it should mostly reflect how it would end up in-game with what is manually defined and what EOF uses for undefined fingerings.

If you want to define fingerings for chords that are missing that information, you can use "Song>Rocksmith>Correct chord fingerings"
  2. raynebc's post in Guitar Pro sections incorrect was marked as the answer
You can delete phrases or sections from a beat in EOF by selecting the beat marker (click the -->), then use Beat>Events>Events to review and modify any such events applied to the beat. To add new phrases/sections, it's easiest to use functions in the Beat>Rocksmith menu.
  3. raynebc's post in exe won't boot was marked as the answer
I develop and run EOF exclusively in 64 bit Windows computers. That's not part of the issue. So far, security software is the only known cause for this. EOF in general works in 32 and 64 bit flavors of Windows XP, probably Vista, 7, probably 8.x and 10.
  4. raynebc's post in Go PlayAlong was marked as the answer
Several people have and do use it.
  5. raynebc's post in Sections Help was marked as the answer
The individual parts that each have a varying difficulty level are the phrases. These get created if the chart doesn't already have them when you use DDC in the toolkit.
  6. raynebc's post in Lower bitrate was marked as the answer
If the OGG handling library EOF is using doesn't pick a suitable bitrate here (it's supposed to use the one in the file's metadata), I can change this to bring up the encode quality prompt that is used when converting MP3 to OGG during chart creation.
  7. raynebc's post in Error Adding Leading Silence was marked as the answer
Using the EOF's re-encode option will get you the same result as using Audacity to add leading silence. It should work just about 100% of the time since the stream copy feature is a bit finicky.
  8. raynebc's post in Chord slide with open note error was marked as the answer
Rocksmith has so many special rules and limitations it's hard to keep track. If the FHPs are the only problem in the simple solution, you could try just putting a handshape tag around the chords:

EOF won't change the FHP for chords that are inside a handshape and after the handshape's beginning timestamp.
  9. raynebc's post in XML import options from GPA was marked as the answer
The sync could definitely use some work beyond moving the first beat marker. Most of the beats looked to be anywhere between 40-60ms off when comparing to EOF's waveform graph, but the last beat of measure 8 is synced just about perfectly and is what you want to go for as far as syncing the other beats.

I don't have GPA to try it myself, but I would be skeptical that their waveform graph shows this to be accurately synced. Maybe if it lets you zoom in it would show it more accurately. If the graph still doesn't show sync issues, can you provide some screen shots?

I wouldn't recommend deleting anchors that don't happen to be the first beat of a measure, all this does is limit how accurate your chart can be. Commercially made charts for games like Rock Band often would have tempo changes on several consecutive beats whenever the audio recording warranted it.
  10. raynebc's post in Question about shortening sustains? was marked as the answer
I believe he's talking about syncing beats to correct the note positions and durations. You can click and drag a beat marker (-->) to correct its position, and surrounding beats up to the previous and next anchors will have their tempos adjusted accordingly.
  11. raynebc's post in Handshape arpeggio with chord name was marked as the answer
As far as I can remember EOF doesn't support arpeggios/handshapes that have only a single note. Unless there's a convincing need for something like this, I probably won't pursue such a change because it would make EOF's RS export logic even messier than it already is.
  12. raynebc's post in Notes missing when playing/editing an existing CDLC was marked as the answer
The XML file you posted is not a playable arrangement, it is information about the custom song package itself. I don't have the toolkit with me at the moment, but make sure you're importing an instrument XML file.

If this is a chart with dynamic difficulties, some phrases may not show any notes is certain difficulty numbers due to how difficulties work in Rocksmith. If you use "Track>Rocksmith>Manage RS phrases" in EOF, it will show you how many difficulty levels each phrase has.

If you run into any problems with an old version of EOF or the toolkit, we may not be able to help you.
  14. raynebc's post in hammer ons pull offs and bends not importing from GP5 was marked as the answer
Might be best to specify which dated version of EOF you're using (as reported by selecting About in EOF's Help menu), along with a screen capture of the part of the arrangement in EOF that isn't importing the way you want.
  15. raynebc's post in Phrases and Solo status was marked as the answer
It shouldn't be very hard for me to add a checkbox.
  16. raynebc's post in Grid snap stuck off was marked as the answer
The grid snap toggle function allows you to either turn off grid snap or restore the previously used grid snap setting from the current EOF session. If grid snap was off when you last exited EOF and you open EOF again, there is no memory of another setting so instead of just toggling grid snap on you would have to manually pick a grid snap size from the "Edit>Grid snap" menu or by using the , and . keys to cycle through the available sizes.
  17. raynebc's post in making a cdlc only with gp5 was marked as the answer
If you import a Guitar Pro file in EOF without having a project open already, it will ask for an audio file but you can cancel and EOF will create a project and indicate "no audio" in the title bar. Unless an OGG file is imported from the File menu, playback functions (and related features like claps, MIDI tones, etc) are disabled, but you can still make edits and get a Rocksmith XML file during save. The toolkit will need an audio file of course, but in EOF you can seek to the end of the last note in your imported arrangement(s) to see how long the silent audio file you create (ie. in Audacity) should be.
  18. raynebc's post in Can You Mute The Audio Track In EOF was marked as the answer
For other folks wondering about this, you can change the volume of the chart audio or different sound effects (ie. metronome) in "Song>Audio cues".
  19. raynebc's post in Unable to add tone changes was marked as the answer
If you're not getting XML files when you save, make sure the Rocksmith export (File>Preferences>Import/Export) preference is enabled.  It is enabled by default, so unless you'd disabled it, the next thing to check is that you have at least one note in a pro guitar/bass arrangement otherwise no XML file will be written for it.
  20. raynebc's post in Save Errors after using Push Offset Back tool was marked as the answer
I can't reproduce that, are you using the 3-11-2017 hotfix?  When I open a project where the first beat isn't at 0 seconds already, I can use "Beat>Push offset back", it works, and when I save the project, reopen EOF and open the project, my changes are still made.

If you can reproduce the problem with a specific set of steps that begin with opening EOF and opening the project, please send me the affected project file along with those steps.
  21. raynebc's post in High-Strung / Nashville Tuning was marked as the answer
It probably wouldn't be much work to change EOF, since it will effectively just use modulus to make it irrelevant if a note is an A, or an A in another octave.  I think where it would come into play is if I wanted to change chord naming logic, where chords span more than one octave of notes, which may not be worth the effort since that probably wouldn't be used as much.
  22. raynebc's post in EoF and MIDI files was marked as the answer
Those MIDI files are note charts for Guitar Hero style games.  They're not as relevant for Rocksmith, but notes.mid will contain the pro guitar tracks (Rock Band 3 format) except for "PART REAL_GUITAR_BONUS".  You can reduce unwanted files by disabling the "Save FoF/GH/Phase Shift files" export preference.
  23. raynebc's post in Lyrics encoding was marked as the answer
There is an error in the Ultrastar file:

    - 1735 : 1736 3 0 The : 1757 4 0  nor : 1765 70 0 thern : 1868 2 0  gold : 1992 3 0  sear - 2001 : 1992 4 0 I've
"I've" has an invalid timestamp.  It must come after the previous lyric and after that end of lyric line.  Did you manually edit the lyric file, or did an Ultrastar lyric editor allow it to be authored this way?  If it's the latter, it may be worth reporting this as a bug to its developers because I doubt it should allow this to happen.
  24. raynebc's post in Invalid lyric file was marked as the answer
The issue was that the file uses UTF-8 encoding with BOM, and EOF's handling of that "Byte Order Mark" character was broken.  If you resave this lyric file as ANSI format or as UTF-8 without BOM EOF should be able to import it.
  25. raynebc's post in Let ring? was marked as the answer
It's been doable from the beginning of RS customs.  In EOF, if you give a note "crazy" status (select it and press the T key), it is allowed to overlap notes that don't use the same string(s) as the crazy note.
