surfing up 1% on the Apache - Rhythm struggling with 'that' chord that I am sure never existed a few years ago, anyway the score is going in the right direction.....slowly.

then comes this weeks bass, which i hated but now feel strangely drawn to once i finish shouting at the guitar, strings, cat, doorbell, phone and anything else that interrupts Apache

I will be closely following The Deathryder through those gates at the end of the week   :angry:

I had a real go at Apache, I am not sure about beat maps & Syncs but if i didn't get 100% my dad would kick my arse on this one so i played and played and played.

I agree with Motive about the one miss = struck, that was a real pain .....and the ending seemed a bit strange, but stuck with it

i also got better on the Coldbound Bass but hoping for 100% on this by the end of the week but not holding my breath as this was an exceptional run through and I'm not even sure i was hitting most of the notes, but this is what RS gave me so i'm keeping it.

Apache rhythm is pretty hard for me, lots of chords, lots of changes + one of the Chords i have never seen before, but i'll get better as the week goes on with any luck

I already had Apache on the Mac so i'd had a few goes at it a while ago but gave up as it was different to the one i learnt, so glad it is in the Championship because it gives me a chance to really nail it.but not just yet  :rolleyes:

i never really played the rhythm so thats a whole new challenge.......and pretty hard for the BC

The Rosette song i picked up pretty easily on bass.

and i think i'll get a reasonable score on the Catamenia song, on Bass so long as i can get to the end before my fingers drop off......

Love the beginner song, I tried to learn this with my Dad.....we were both shit but i love the song.... so this week is gonna be great.

If i can get 98 on Apache i'll be happy on rhythm , bass and lead.

and ill have a go at Roxette as well, hopefully i'll get a good score on bass at least.

Heres my final scores, can't play Psycho anymore, when the guy says 'put on your war face !', even I think i'm a pussy.......

wasn't sure which group i am in for the bass so i did Beginner and Intermediate.....

looking forward to the next Challenge

I thought i'd have a go at yum yum on the Bass just for a bit of a laugh, after seeing the 100%'s how hard could it be.........

My fingers are now in a bucket of ice and my forearm has pumped up like a ballon.......this will be my last try me thinks.

I have no idea how you guys do it, let alone do it again..... 

Still can't get the hang of Psycho I'm sure I'm doing something stupid but was making a slight slight improvement ........

but of course i had to have an excuse not to do better, i was thinking but couldn't come up with a decent reason then...... bang

I'm with Diddie on the Psycho song , my head just won't accept it but as I have 100% on the Beginner Bass I'm going to continue with Psycho if only to get the 0.2% to get above Trevellyan :-)

Well it seems i need to forgive my computer as i must have missed a couple of notes on the Metallica song as tonight I improved by 0.31% !!!!!!

unbelievable ...... if i don't get 100% by Friday the Thunderbird gets it !

So i move on to Psycho, which brought a slightly better improvement of 3% but needs a lot of work but i have a few days to get to grips with it but still can't get the last bloody note.....

just to end on a plus note...........

I had only got a few 100%'s before i joined this Championship now I'm getting 2 a week.......amazing what a little bit of enthusiasm, application and pure determination can do.   :unsure:

Been there many times. I actually found that I have fewer dropped notes since I raised my strings and started wearing a glove on my fret hand. This has particularly made a massive difference when dealing with low tunings.

 

I think I would do better with a boxing glove on sometimes hahahah

Well i'm getting there with Psycho but its slow and hard going for me.........and that note at the end.....forget it

Only small improvements today been busy nursing a hangover.

Got up to 98+ % on the Nazereth song on bass (want 100% on this ). and up to 90% on the Muse song on Lead (strangely struggling with this one)

I also had a go at the Metalica song on bass 97% going for the 100% on this one......

Didn't do Screen shots as my head hurts too much after celebrating a 3-0 win on Sunday

he's my first couple of goes in the Beginner class, struggling a bit with Psycho but ill get better one my fingers harden up again.

Love Hurts should be pretty easy to get once i master the 2------7 slides.

never heard Psycho before but its quite catchy, should be fun this week.

off to watch the mighty Spurs play Bournemouth now,

i had a play through the songs today but i doubt if ill get a chance to better them as i will be travelling to Ireland on Tuesday and I quote, "if you play that bloody guitar while i am packing the suitcases you are going to need a good Surgeon to remove it from....... " i won't go on as it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.............but these are the scores so far.

I can't leave it like this so i am going to try to get another go after work tomorrow........

Love No doubt so I'm looking forward to this one, I haven't heard of the others but that's half the fun of this championship, it gives me the chance to try new songs.

Unfortunately I'm going to Ireland on Tuesday which won't leave me long to get the hang of the tunes.

heres my scores for this week, I haven't improved today as I cut my middle finger of my fretting hand at work so it was a bit painful using bone instead of skin on the strings.

I may have exaggerated the cut on my finger slightly but couldn't think of another excuse.

Thanks again for getting me to try new songs i wouldn't otherwise try.

Well I had a good night last night, the misses went out and left me and Jack Daniels to concentrate on Blink 182 (after a quick look at the Shunkan video, in case I missed anything the first time)

As a result I am now in the 90+% Lead & Rhythm , which I would never have expected after the first XXX Game over play through and 100% on Bass which has boosted my confidence no end as I wouldn't even have attempted this a few weeks ago.

well I have sorted the bass on Blink and made a bit of an improvement on the lead and rhythm by adding the D (blue) string on the 2 string power chord bits.....so now I use the A,D&G strings. It's a bit strange but it works for me

I was struggling with the Blink182 song so I had a go at the others with varying success, but then I got caught watching the Shunkan Sentimental video (for guitar tips obviously).......... now my Misses thinks I am a dirty old man :wacko:

thanks for the song choice, it was a bit of a challenge and without this forum i wouldn't have attempted it.

i stuck with it but have run out of time, Tottenham v Arsenal today......any Brits in here will understand the importance of that.
