  1. Thought my wife was going to kill me this week. Usually I practice on her work nights. But she was in classes this week so all mornings. Good news, I got to see her. Bad news she's not a big fan of rocky horror. Played it a few times, got it above 40% woot. And to further complain, my bass doesn't tune down to D. So I had to practice using a pitch shifter. Well it works, but man it's weird when the notes on the bass don't sink with what's coming out of rocksmith. Dissonance for the win? --Wren
  2. I was lazy this week on lead. A little practice and I probably could have kicked this up a bit more. But 6 play throughs got me from under 50% to over 70, so there's a win. And for some reason I was really enjoying bass this week. So I spent a lot of time there. --Wren
  3. Well, you can always turn music off :D Heh, I actually have to do that very often. Makes it interesting on the last run to see if what I was playing matches up once I can actually hear it.
  4. Yeah, new schedule is killing me and I can't complain enough about this particular song. I've heard babymetal songs I've liked before, but I can only hear the relationship of numbers in a contextual world biased around the number 4 so many times before I start to complain even more than normal. And another thing just so I can complain, I didn't like the tuning either. So WAH! Now I'm off to change my whiney old man diaper. Thanks Everyone for all you do each week and for keeping this thing going. I may complain, but I truly enjoy the variety of music that gets tossed in here! Cheers --Wren
  5. Maybe next week I'll get a lead song into the 80s. But don't count on it. --Wren
  6. Crap scores, but decent increases from where I started the week I guess.
  7. Yeah well here's bass. Things are much easier when I can find a way around using the crap pinkie.
  8. Epic Fails this week from me, not much time spent practicing, guess I'll try a bass part when I wake up. Too much work fun and on a new work schedule. --Feeling Meh --Wren
  9. Alright, I'm all over the place this week. Never made much progress on Blue, practiced it all week, when my wife was kicking me off for playing the same riffs over and over again. Only got up to 72 percent. Guess that's okay since I couldn't play the first riff up to speed no matter how much I practiced, but I did get it up in the high 80s for speed. No intermediate rhythm, so I played the beginner one since why not. --Wren
  10. @ welcome aboard, hope to see you grow with us!
  11. Wife was on vacation this week so practice time was diminished or non existent, whichever way you want to look at it. Made some progress on the lead tonight from my first play through. Bass line is currently impossible for me, I can't use my pinky finger for sustained periods of time without my whole hand locking up, which doesn't lead to very good rocksmith scores apparently. But hell I gave it a try anyway. Ended up giving up on any notes that required my pinky about 2/3rds of the way through the song. Next week back to my usual practice schedule. --Keep up the good Work All! --Wren
  12. Ah rhythm my old nemesis, the good news is I figured out why my score stunk on this one. I didn't practice at all. Now the lead part, I actually worked on a lot, so much that my wife made me wear headphones most of the time. Started the week at a 49% --Wren
  13. Alright Bass night! Whoever requested Selah Sue, thank you that was awesome fun. Now to see if we can get some higher scores on them before the end of the week. --Wren
  14. That one works fine, and able to get them through ignition just fine. Just odd. try that: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/this-world-r16345 This one?
  15. Nope, no luck. try that: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/this-world-r16345
  16. Weird, maybe it's just me then. I'll check it again in a bit, or use ignition. --Wren
  17. Thanks Rodman, forgot about that since I saw the locked topic on the front page of the championship.
  18. Started tinkering with In Flames - Varmlandsvisan. This needs to be somewhere in the championship. Even the rhythm part is cool. Lead feels like high beginner low intermediate. Rhythm might be a bit higher into intermediate. Haven't looked at the bass part yet. --Wren
  19. Not quite to the 85% I wanted, but not bad improvement for my first intermediate week. -Wren
  20. Alright learned a couple things today. One I need more practice using a pick with my bass, I can do it it just feels unnatural. Kinda like I'm holding everything upside down. Two I really need to let the blister on my middle finger heal up a bit more, so that I can get away from using the pick. Big improvement from where I started the Rhythm part. Little steps on lead. And I kinda gave up on playing the bass with the pick and just did what I was used to. Maybe I can get another better bass run in this week, expect a couple more improvements on lead as well. Everything over 80% at this point aiming for 85% by week end. --Thanks All! ---Wren
  21. Alright, so first go in intermediate lead, started the week at 50%ish. Up to 78%, think I'll be happy around 85% by the end of the week. Definitely not my kind of song, cool riff, but man it would be better if the vocalist took some time off to get that help he needs. --Wren
  22. Damn it. Wait rhythm? I'm not even sure what that is! Guess I've got to start back at the low percentages again. --Thanks all for the Championship --Wren
  23. I've worked in retail for 23 years now. So Christmas music gives me a bit of anxiety. I personally observe no holidays. But I won't begrudge anyone theirs. I sight read each piece just once and here's what I got. Going to practice something else this week. Enjoy your holiday season all and see you next week! --As always thanks to both the moderators and the participants for keeping the championship going each week! Wren
  24. Yeah @@ZeroPingNZ, I started at the beginning of September in the Championship and I've slowly improved over the last 3 almost 4 months now. Hopefully I can keep moving along and by June I'm hoping to feel decent with some of the intermediate songs. It takes time and gives you an extra song to practice each week. Which means for me that it will make me focus on a technique or skill that I didn't have before or that I wouldn't hit by choosing music on my own. Also this is a pretty good community, if you run into problems or have questions just shoot em out and somebody has probably dealt with it at some point. Good Luck and Keep it up! --Wren
