  1. I listen to mostly metal and rock, and obviously my favorite guitarists play a bit heavier stuff. Give it a taste, listen especially the solos in the songs. Samuli Peltola, Medeia, the riffs are amazing Marko Utriainen, Diablo Per Nilsson, awesome sweep doodling, check his impro Marc Tremonti, Kyle McKnight, Threat Signal Flemming C Lund, Arcane Order, awesome solos https://open.spotify.com/track/1IIv4gSyhNoZTPcpXV7s6O Rabea Massaad, Dorje, check out solo of White Dove https://open.spotify.com/track/3WEl2IGaZraH5qKHLsQdxO Andrew Jacobs, Mutiny Within Josh Middleton, Sylosis
  2. You might enjoy Mokoma, Diablo and Kotiteollisuus. They are Finnish Rock-Thrash bands. And definitely check out Deftones, especially older stuff. Lähetetty minun SM-G920F laitteesta Tapatalkilla
  3. Check out Sylosis - Born Anew. I just spend 2 weeks trying to learn the solo. It's great, it is the best and so hard, so hard. It's the hardest there is. "Imitating Trump" Lähetetty minun SM-G920F laitteesta Tapatalkilla
  4. More Aborted would be nice, especially Cenobites, Termination Redux , and also something from the side projects of the vocalist: Oracles, System Divide. And Bleed the Sky is an epic band, mostly forgotten. The Interbeing is nice, but there is only one tab available. Thank you for all the work you've done!
  5. Amazing find and I really appreciate what you have done with the guitar :)
  6. Dimmu is missing from the list :/ And Catamenia also.
  7. @@ZagatoZee How do you like your Chapman? I've heard good things about them but I haven't had a chance to test any model yet.
  8. Just purchased Steinberger Spirit Pro HSS. Got it used, with a nice discount. Plays great and it is tiny! Easy to bring with me everywhere. http://static.weloveshopping.com/shop/music-boulevard/extra/7267232.jpg
  9. No voehan vitare...Tuolta olin noita silloin tällöin vilkuillu kun iski inspiraatio soitella CMX:ää. @@Fyres http://koti.mbnet.fi/tabit/ Tuolta löytyy muutama. Olet Tässä olis kyl kova. Pitäisiköhän kysellä bändin facebook-sivuilta, josko olis tosifaneilla tallessa tabeja.
  10. I played trumpet for 3-4 years. Did some concerts in a orchestra etc. Eventually I stopped because my lips started to get sore and I got more into martial arts.
  11. It is also good practice to try playing some easy chord songs. Or before that, just practice changing from one chord to another without any time limits. And learn the scales. They are also good practice. Before you notice, you'll be playing the easier songs without any problems. And then you'll start moving towards more difficult songs to have again new challenges..and there you go. When I started, I plaeyd only chord changes and scales for the first few months. Then I bought RS2014 and went through the lessons and the mini games. Then I started with easy songs like Ramones, Green Day, Nirvana, etc. with only few power chords. Now after a year I'm practicing sweep picking and tapping licks which seemed impossible when I first started. When you put effort and motivation to your playing, you will progress.
  12. Viikate is also nice. The lead parts have a lot of single note runs. For example: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/ei-ole-ket%c3%a4%c3%a4n-kelle-soittaa-r17573 http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/tervaskanto-r7405 http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/viina-terva-hauta-r16531 Also the tutorials and exercises are good. For example Steve Vai's and Petrucci's. And other. But those are better viewed on youtube or dvd, since they also teach much about technique.
  13. Wohoo! My guitar is at drop c ( actually it is a 7 string, and the lowest string is G..heavy), so I can play some SOAD! I recommend for everyone gettin' for example behringer us 600 pich shifter, or other type of pitch shifter. It's really handy when playing in different tuning. No need to hassle with the strings.
  14. No worries, I like the song, and will try it again.
  15. Thanks Fripp! I've also learned a lot. Especially switching between A, G and D..fast. Sometimes my brain tells my fingers that go for it, but the fingers just freeze, and then I miss a couple of next things trying to catch up again. Good practice and I managed to improve my score a bit. when playing the song at 50% speed, i get it quite smooth. http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r499/Anssi_Aarnio/2015-10-01_00007_zpsris7t9tm.jpg
  16. Sorry, Google Drive messing things up. I uploaded to photo to another location and now it's visible. But of course the screen shot is taken at the wrong moment. I'll try today to get the score better and the picture taken at the right moment
  17. My first try at Jet - Cold Hard Bitch, and it was a bitch alraight :) Some note recognition issues at the first section, but I guess I need to practice some more. http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r499/Anssi_Aarnio/Cold_hard_bitch_zpsp7zmwxbg.png Edit. Apparently I missed the print screen button at the critical moment. Accuracy was 72,9 % but I'll try it again today to get it better. Hopefully I'll be able to take the picture at the right time.
  18. Thanks you for all the work you've done. In Flames is one of my favourite bands, and I really like to play in low drop tunings. If you are open to suggestions Suburban Me, Acoustic Medley and Moonshield C64 karaoke version would be great! I have no idea how to get C64 sounds by using the amps in RS2014 though :)
  19. Maybe it's time for me to participate in this. Cold hard bitch is a killer song and has just the right hardness level for me :)
  20. This might be useful: http://onehourmethod.com/best-method-for-learning-to-build-the-guitar-chords/ Haven't tried it yet, but on the weekend I'll borrow an iPad and take a look at it. I usually use Rocksmith to have the right tone and then I look at tabs and listen to the song to get the right beat. I'll practice the riffs a couple of times before even starting to play the song in riff repeater. I find that even the most slow riff repeater is too fast for learning complex sweeps, tapping, or some chord progression. It's much simpler when seen in Youtube being played by someone and then by looking at the tabs and learning it in your own time. After you have a general idea how to play the song, I play it in rocksmith 'cause then I can basically rock the song right away.
  21. Once per week guitar studies with teacher, and approximately 30 min per day doing stuff with the guitar. Usually learning new riffs or running through scales. I'd like to play more, but I have limited time available :/
  22. 7/10. I like Slipknot a bit more heavy (as in Iowa) but this sounds nice also. I don't have a favorite, but this is something I've been listening to quite much during the years: Diablo - Lovedivided. Finnish "Metallica".
  23. Big thumbs up for Opeth - Deliverance! If you have the time, could you do also Demon of the Fall?
  24. http://www.daddario.com/DADProductDetail.Page?ActiveID=3769&productid=25&productname=EXL116_Nickel_Wound__Medium_Top_Heavy_Bottom__11_52 11-52 would do the trick. Depends somewhat on the scale length of your guitar and how tight you want the tension to be. By the way, Sylosis uses this gauge in E-standard to give them a heavy sound, but this required quite much from the neck of the guitar since the tension is going to be about 25% bigger.
