  1. Slow progress in Arctic Monkeys song. Nowhere near as 'easy' as the last Beginners song. 87.64% 64 streak Lead.. http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/whyhigh8764L_zpsc474c8e7.jpg
  2. 4 playthroughs and a few curses and 77% (Lead).. Can't remember by streak (wasn't saving it as I'm not anywhere near finished with this).. I'm not sure it's in the same difficulty league as Halestorm's beginner song from last week - ie, this is possibly Intermediate - but I'm not done yet, not by a long shot... It looks like I might have some fun with this. :) edit.. few more and I'm up to 80.2 Lead - with a screenshot this time.. Need to spend some time in RR.. Getting there. :) http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/whyhigh802L_zps59ce1d03.jpg H
  3. There are some torrents about with 60-80000 tabs in a zip.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. Another play and it looks like my 1/8 turn on my truss rod has paid off.. Notes I was 'missing' are now detected. I am pretty damn sure I am not playing them differently! 98.79% and 223 Streak.. http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/HalestormMiseryL9879_zpsa0d95959.jpg
  5. Was about to say the same thing. Drop D is a full tone lower (2 frets) so yeah, it'd be the same fret for those power chords that use the D string. That's cheating surely? Easier to play, perform and sing, I suppose. ;) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. You normally get a little truss rod tool with a guitar (basically a spanner with a screwdriver at the other end). Take off the truss rod plate and see if you have any tools that can turn the hex nut. I think you need to loosen the truss rod, to allow the neck to 'bow' more, reducing buzz but increasing the 'action'. Tightening the truss rod works against the string tension, meaning it would try to straighten the neck. Potentially producing more buzz as the action is lower.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. Chuffed... Had a couple of days off (busy with other things), came back, watched @@Smile's video, had one go at it and got 98.28 (2%+ improvement over my last one) and a new high score for me.. Shows me that there isn't any point in pushing things too much... ;) Right, curry and beer time! :) Cheers again @@Smile! http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/HalestormMiseryL9828_zps0eca90e7.jpg
  8. When I adjust my truss rod its never more than 1/8 of a turn at a time; giving it a day before adjusting again.. I'd give that a go first.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. Slight update on previous attempt.. About .5% - to 95.87% Some of the chords in the middle of the song just aren't being recognised, for some reason... :geek: Update - 96.04% with 87 streak (?? poor start).. Anyway, enough for one night! :)
  10. Agghhh. Spotted a bar with a slight bit of Orange (rather than purple) in my previous score (which I was going to submit). Looks like I was DD'ed (despite setting it to 100% diff).. Baws! Anyway, new one on Score attack (not risking DD).. I'll have a few more goes as I quite like this song (wasn't a Beatles fan)! ;) 95.87% with 118.. My previous high score of 625000ish (in the RS leaderboards). I'm not even sure if it had a higher %age.. Oh well! :) http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/HalestormMiseryL95-87JPG_zps94775030.jpg
  11. @@Smile Thanks.. Thought it would be that but it doesn't feel right for me.. Guess I need to work at it.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. Hmmm.. Second attempt got a 96.8% with a 79 streak on Halestorm (Lead).. Which fingers do you guys use for those 1st/3rd fret power chords? I find it more comfortable using 1st finger and my pinkie... Will have another go when I loosen my truss rod a touch (bit of buzz).. :geek: Screenshot taken and will upload if this is my final attempt..
  13. Confused.. Thought you had to choose and could only enter in one class - beginner, Intermediate or masterclass - but in more than one instrument (Lead/Bass/Rhythm)??
  14. Tabs and, for me, its a better mapping on how you view your strings. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  15. First time trying this out.. Thought it looked fun but didn't think I was ready. Anyway, it's good practice.. I've had a guitar for 7 months, so I am in at the bottom end - Beginner.. I'd try to improve on these but unfortunately I don't like the song, so I probably won't bother! ;) Cheers H Lead http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/SGTPeppL_zps77440671.jpg Rhythm http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/SGTPeppR_zps50340bd7.jpg
  16. I've been using a tip I heard on one of the many restringing videos I've watched. Using a wood pencil, mark inside the groove on the Guitars 'nut', where the string rests. The graphite helps the string slide. :) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. I think you need to do a lot of that the hard way - outside RS. Probably better for you in the long run..
  18. Donated yesterday... Keep up the good work!
  19. Might be of use to someone - E standard tuning fretboard notes.. Most of the charts I've found on the internet are a bit fuzzy, so I did my own. It's high res, so good for a printout, desktop wallpaper etc.. Cheers, H edit.. v2 Corrected colour on 2 notes.
  20. Not sure about game booster but in open broadcaster, you can set up a hotkey to start and stop recording when in-game at full screen. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  21. If u want to record your game to a file then Open Broadcaster software works great.. I've never trusted these 'game boosters'. I'd rather script shutting down of services and background apps on my PC than use one.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. It doesn't stay on it (only when playing) but will bear that in mind, thanks.. :)
  23. Here are my pair of guitars.. Obviously, I use the second one a lot more! Gibson SG standard http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/IMG_20140322_165508_zps5a322de8.jpg Fisherprice Les OldMacdonald - 1976 custom made (v rare). I 'sometimes' let my daughter use this... http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o680/Hostilian/IMG_20140322_165354_zps93645004.jpg Cheers, H
  24. I've got a Gibson SG Standard and love it!!!! I was thinking about getting a Jackson at some point - but my local store doesn't keep them in stock (so I can't try one out). Has anyone got any experience with them - good or bad? I quite like the King or Kelly... Thanks!
