Cheers @@Rodman :) (I think this mother's day is the Australian one, the Brits Mother's day was in March but I won't say no to 2 breakfast in bed in the space of a year :D.) Had no time at all last week to play bass :( Work's taking a bit of a turn atm, and some folk have taken an interest in some stuff I've been making. Fingers crossed I can squeeze in some time to play some Stevie tonight <3

aye @@Gamut , I don't mean to be a downer, generally have a very sunny disposition on everything. I'm enjoying work at least (especially one of my jobs that is creative and fun and in no way boring.) It's just a bit sad here. I'm having some time gaming atm with my Squig herder and poking dwarves in the eye and practicing Ghost riffs between kills so there's a little fun happening :) and having some relative success with a widdley bit in square hammer that I'm trying to improve my efficiency and accuracy fingering. But fanks for the comforting advice and support, it's appreciated greatly :) x

Not getting nearly enough time to play my bass so these are my firsts and possibly lasts for the week, but we'll see... I'm currently working 3 jobs since my partners contract ended with Sony, he's applying for everything but no luck yet... so stuff is a bit shit atm, I'm tired, moody, not well and waiting for physio and an op' but everything keeps getting cancelled, put back and it's all massively stressful (I'm not dying or anything, just have a rather inconvenient health issue that basically ruins anything physical I want/need to do.) Today I did a 10K run, I shoulda just held out to play Spirit of Radio because after 8 plays back to back I think I sweated more doing that :) Admittedly (fo' shame) I hadn't actually attempted to play Spirit of Radio on bass before, I just have it on vinyl... I always thought it'd be too hard but turns out, wasn't too bad at all, I think I'm getting a bit more widdley with the fretting fingers, and raking is a fun technique to use on this track :) I love this track even more now I can play it to a not too poo level. You're welcome :) It's very possible to just keep all the notes rolling and just slow it down but in this instance of me being very new to slapping I needed to dumb it down and worked my way up to get the technique down. I can do the basic sections, slapped open E and the popped C, it's when the slaps change to the A string that I start fluffing up, my thumb just doesn't want to shift down and hit 1 string, I just end up thumping all four and making brow noise. :huh:

Right, I don't slap well AT all (I am a below the beginner ability with the technique), but, I am making progress with this particular ADV bass track. I started out at 47% and DD was alllll orange. I NEVER use DD but I thought for this particular track, since I don't really know this band, I don't mind if I don't do it justice so I'll use DD to just help me with the slap technique in general. Slowing it down and reducing the notes definitely helped at the start and eventually I started to get the rhythm down and even 100%'d a few of the sections. so here's my "non" score which I'm hoping to improve to an SA entry later in the week.
