  5. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=281493060 last attempt this week, 3% improvement but I've barely had time to practice it... I'll learn it once the kids have left home... 18 years to go :)
  6. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=280381033 Slight improvement again... getting miffed with the last few bars of this song now, as soon as I'm in the last throws of the song, note recognition completely goes when I change to C on the 4th string of my bass... I'd put it down to tiredness of my hands but it's definitely not that, I'm finding my stamina fairs well with this song, just for some reason, low C is not a good note for rocksmith to pick up :( meh!
  7. Update to the Amorphis Silver Bride (Think I am in love with the singers voice :) .) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=279026835
  8. First attempts, managed to try all 3 this week.. woo me! I have 3 versions of Warpigs and I can play none of them... I quite love Black Sabbath though so I may have to give it a good firm try, very much enjoy the Amorphis one, Muse too, great array this week :) Kudos to choosers and selector! 9. All your bass r belong to me!

  10. Greetings Greg, and fellow Customians :) I'm Jo, from North West Merseyside in England. I'd been playing guitar, badly, for about 23 years before deciding my massive hands (Inherited from my dads side of the family) were not equipped for the small frets of the guitar. I'd always loved bass, especially Geddy Lee and Jaco Pastorius and gladly, my other half was obliging and generously bought me a starter bass and amp with the addition of Rocksmith 1 for Christmas 2012. I graduated to RS2014 last Christmas. I used youtube tutorials and Ultimate guitar tabs to find tracks I wanted to play that weren't on RS1 and 2014 then found Custom Forge <3 via a link on Raptr, and then... life began! I bought a new bass and everythin'. I've been playing about a year and a half now, it got tough in the middle of last year as I had to negotiate the bass over my protruding stomach as #2 son was claiming squatters rights until he finally decided enough was enough and he had to come out to see what the racket was... 3 days before my 36th birthday. He seems to like my bass playing, which is a good thing because #1 son, a shit he does not give :) I wish I'd got a bass 23 years ago! Or I'd been born 23 years later to have this kind of tool to edumacate me :)
  11. http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598165829699563150/BAB900A5503D174EFEE3865C63E53D208EC77B10/ mild improvement but not sure I'm going to get another chance to play it before the deadline. Fingers crossed I can get back in time to give it one last shot :)
  12. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=275571992 Needs some work, not happy unless I see "perfects" every note on a simple song :) The other two songs, well... I attempted them both and I'm not keen on the Buckethead one, I can't find my stride with it, and the MC is way out of my league of ability... give me 4000 more hours and I might nail it ,but not this week :)
  13. Metallica - Ride the Lightning was my first album back in 1990. I just found it :) Still has the John Menzies price sticker on it, £13.99!
  14. I find singing and playing nigh on impossible, meself... it's like rubbing your tummy and patting your head at the same time, when on bass :) I approve of the approval section approving cdlc. I hope it is implemented. :)
  15. This guy http://www.youtube.com/user/joshfossgreen for bass tuition, he also offers lessons over skype and has a website and patreon page. All of his downloads are free and he explains things in a really interesting and amusing way that's very informative with little to no confusion. He's the reason I opted for a Peavey Cirrus bass, the sound out of it is just superb :) Enjoy!
  16. Monster Truck - Sweet Mountain river - 400 (109%) ... Yeah, I quite like that song :???: The XX - Islands - 54 (109.5%) Wolfmother - Joker and the Thief - 34 (106.5%) Pantera - Cemetary Gates - 32 (96%)
  17. Missed one damn note! Slight improvement though http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=273242769
  18. Great song, absolutely love the rhythm of Full Steam Spacemachine :) Not sure I'm going to get chance to practice much more on this song or ANY of the others this week, really hectic so here's my effort on Royal Republic and we'll see if time permits another chance to get 100% http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598165829431868325/6BADE5665C1DDBE0CBF36A8771B3C35005F5E92C/
  19. I use ultimate guitar tabs a fair bit and the guitar pro has the use of multi tracks, I love it for trickier bass lines, it really gives you a better sense of the rhythm and melody on bass, which is usually very different to what the rest of the band plays. The Duran Duran track is a great example of the differing technicality. The little flourishes that occur, which can sometimes be drowned out by the rest of the music when trying to learn the phrases benefit greatly from being able to single out the instrument sections you want to hear. :) Cheers for the link @@Karmeleaux

  22. I have just downloaded that on your advice :) I love some fromage rock ;)
  23. My mate churns out a good rendition of "What's going on?" by 4 Non Blondes. Nearly everyone know's that song and it's like 3 chords. I used to play "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M and that was pretty simple too... if you go for a catchy tune with a chorus everyone can join in you'll be loved at any party... or hated, depending how awful the chorus accompaniment of 'X' amount of drunk people, sing :)
  24. Also done! Hope you get what you need, I enjoyed the read :D
  25. This is an excellent guide! Thank you @dalenichol for the link!
