  1. @@avdocatwork How's that piggy bank looking? https://reverb.com/item/1986260?_aid=newsletter&utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=a98af309c8-rn160810_dreamgear&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_5889ed6702-a98af309c8-61134125
  2. Rocksmith is coming out with a Remastered 2014 edition that will be a free upgrade to RS2014 users. They've upgraded menus and made a few tweeks, plus a handful of new songs. http://theriffrepeater.com/rocksmith-2014-remastered-coming-in-october/
  3. @@avdocatwork Buy that girl a monster truck and no more worries about those curbs. Good luck with repairs.
  4. Official DLC always has terrible tones and speed is often too high. I'll take your copy for sure.
  5. Hello all, If you're ever thinking of looking for a new guitar, I have some advice. There's a lot of leeway in new guitar pricing, but retailers are mandated to sell products at the price the manufacturer demands. If the retailer doesn't follow these rules, the manufacturer can deny them their products. Hence, that's the reason you'll find the same guitar at the exact same price everywhere you go. Here's my example: I emailed a bunch of eBay sellers to see what their best prices were for a brand new Jackson RRT-3 which retails for $900. I got two answers back: one guy said $669 w/free shipping, no tax; the other said $700 w/free shipping, no tax, and a brand new Jackson hardshell case that retails for $140. I also contacted Sweetwater, a big retailer in Ft. Wayne that I like, and they said they would do whatever they could to beat anybody's price. One of the eBay retailers wrote me a nice email explaining that even though he lists his guitars as "used in pristine condition" , "used and un-played", or "used and mint", they are actually brand new with warranty, but he can't list them as new on eBay without putting them at full $900 price. My advice to new guitar buyers would be to go to Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc. and find the guitar you like, then hit up a bunch on online retailers to see who can give you the best offer. A savings of over 25% is pretty significant. I think I'm going to have to pull the trigger on the RRT-3 with case. I've always wanted one of these Jackson Rhoads' Vs. http://www.iguitarmag.com/media/166086/jackson-pro-series-rrt-3-rhoads.jpg
  6. @@avdocatwork Hey, Terry, Played the new ZZ Top songs. The tone on the Bluesbreaker amp is pretty soft on my set up. The lead tone on the Marshall amp with no cabinet sounds shrill. It's got a lot of top end but I can barely hear it on any of the lower notes. On Backdoor Lover, played it a couple times and it seems their might be some syncing issues in the first third of the song or so. It just seemed like what I was playing wasn't always matching up. The other songs looked good.
  7. @@avdocatwork Just a heads up, you listed the band name as Black Sabbat (missing 'h' at end) for Wicked World in the database.
  8. @@avdocatwork I'm like you, I don't care if anybody plays or likes my songs, as long as we enjoy them. Going to polish up a couple old turds: UFO's Too Hot to Handle and everybody's favorite (or least favorite) redneck Nugent's Free for All. Did both early on and they need some TLC, especially need to be sped up.
  9. @@avdocatwork Hey, Terry, A speed of 1.5 would probably be a good start. It might seem a little fast at first, but you're eye will pick it up quickly. That's what I have Iron Man and Electric Funeral set at.
  10. @@jbroch Thanks, Jerry. That song always makes me feel good for some reason. @@avdocatwork Hey, Terry. After hours of fiddling with the new amp, I finally settled down and played the new Sabbath tunes. Couldn't have picked three better songs to start off this new amp. I can't comment on tones for the songs because I had guitar volume off in game, but I'm sure they're good. Only thing I would change on all three songs, and this is just a matter of personal preference, is the speed. I would speed it up a little so some of those faster riffs look a little clearer. But again, just personal preference. Evil Woman - Oh man, when you hit that chorus with those power chords in this one, the amp breathes golden dragon fire. Charting looks good. Audio quality on all three songs is excellent. Going back to this one after I finish typing this up. Wasp - Charting looks good. Song sounds great. Wicked World - Found one charting problem in the clean part that's right in the middle of the song on lead. At the very end of that section, the riff ends, but the notes go on for a couple more seconds. Three awesome songs that I need more practice at. Thanks for making these up.
  11. Just picked up the new amp. Breaking in speaker for the next two hours then going to play Avdoc's new Sabbath tunes to christen it.
  12. Looking for advice on this if anybody has any input: A friend wants to buy my Epiphone Les Paul PlusTop Pro. It's one year old and goes for $550 new. It's in excellent condition with no dings or major scratches, etc, nothing beyond nomal playing wear. I like to baby my stuff a bit. Any ideas of what a fair price would be to charge? I'm going to give him the friends' discount, but I still think I shouldn't take anything less than $300 for it. On reverb.com, the used models go for anywhere between $250 - $400. Any thoughts? Thanks, dudes!
  13. Hope everyone's weekend is going well. Made one change to Iron Man then posted it. Changed the slides on the D string to hammer-ons in the chorus. Realized it was not a slide when I watched Iommi on Youtube. Here's the final version, v1.0: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ut46q45xvd1d3w6/AAByPAZMuKNRik9fZEftK1VSa?dl=0 @@avdocatwork Hope to get to Sabbath tonight. Dead tired last night after literally one hour of yard work. My body reacts like I worked a double shift. First, I have to replace a pot on the Les Paul that I tore the shaft out of when removing a stubborn knob. A buddy wants to buy it from me. Shouldn't take too long, famous last words as I solder the guitar to the table and start the room on fire.
  14. @ Bye, bye junimond. I really enjoyed this song. The June moon is also known as the honey moon, and since lots of people get married in June ... The volumes are good, charting is spot on. The clean tone is nice with good bottom end. The solo tone is great, I really like when it kicked in. Great job on this one, wie gewöhnlich.
  15. I like it, Will, Looks easy enough to chart, may have too give it a try, for sure. :D I'm sure there's no shortage of people on this website who could use that advice.
  16. Had a D string unwind from the bottom while playing yesterday. First time that has happened to me. They're D'addario NYXL so they're supposed to last a long time (only a couple months old). Next time, I'm going to solder the ends where the strings wrap around at the bottom. I think it's called 'tinning'. Thanks @@A51Ripcord and @. Looking forward to the new amp and complaints from the neighbors.
  17. Finally pulled the trigger and ordered my Marshall amp. Sweetwater.com gives a free upgrade to the Celestion creamback speaker which costs $170 on its own. The creamback has a much fuller sound than the stock speaker. Won't be in stock until the 22nd, so should have it in about two weeks. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DSL40CST
  18. Just did some polishing up on Mannfred Mann's For You. Adjusted a few notes and new tones. No need to try, just posting in case somebody is bored. Mannfred Mann - For You v2.0 for Lead and Bass
  19. @@A51Ripcord The default is set at 2.0 for speed, in my opinion the default should be closer to 1.5. 2.0 will work if you have 60bpm and no chord panes, more than that and it can get jumbled up. I watched the undercard first, some good fights there. The big card was quite interesting as well. I complained about Lesnar being on there, but then couldn't wait to see how he did. Sometimes the UFC gets too caught up in the big names rather than just putting up good fights. Love watching the girls fight, too; there's no quit in those ladies.
  20. @@A51Ripcord Played Soggy Bottom Boys. If you increase the speed to about 1.4-1.5, it will be easier to see those chord panes. They won't seem as stacked up on each other where it can make it hard to see the note behind it. On my set up, the tone volume was really low. I always have to crank that acoustic tone to get it loud enough, but it starts to sound a little crappy (no offense Aludog) when the volume gets high. I usually have the acoustic tone in the low 30's for volume. If I go higher it starts to break up, but it could just be my set up. If you decide to make any changes, I'd be happy to run it again.
  21. @@A51Ripcord I'll try and give Soggy Bottom a play tonight after UFC. I dated a few girls who had saggy bottoms, guess that's better than a soggy bottom. @@avdocatwork Crazy shit in Dallas. Don't let one nut job ruin your happiness. Best wishes.
  22. Finally finished up bass for Iron Man if anybody wants to give it a shot. Had some tricky parts that were hard to hear, but I think it turned out pretty good. Also added a small amount of wah pedal to the lead, otherwise lead is unchanged. Black Sabbath - Iron Man v0.4 for Lead and Bass
