Added remasterd_error.log to capture corrupt non-repairable CDLC file names.  Also some other bug fixes to CLI.  See 1st post for details.

Shouldn't it reset the score, or no? Just asking.... I was glad that it didn't reset the scores on my other songs that weren't 100%. It's just that I fixed and loaded America again, and it still says 100%.

Also is there any easy way to revert songs that was fixed before with older CLI versions? It's gonna be rough to manually rename all those .org files.

OK, so I tried the new ver on Prince -  America. Here's what I experienced.

I deleted the "fixed" one and renamed the .org one back to regular (it wouldn't let me run it again on ones that were fixed by the older CLI). I ran the fix. Booted RS and saw that the song was at 0%. Started song, did tuning, and started to play. I immediately noticed the song volume was really really low. The guitar volume sounded normal and tone changes were working fine.

I think "Oh, this is weird", and exit the song. It shows my percentage as 6%. I quit out of RS and boot it again, and when I go back in, my score for America is 100%. I played it, just out of curiosity, and the song volume was back to normal.

I checked and made sure that there was no duplicate in my folder. All I had was the newly fixed psarc and the .org file.

What do you make of this? Is there anything I can provide to help you fix it? America is available in Ignition but if you need my actual files, let me know..

Also I noticed that the thumbnail is loading slowly for that song (both after I first select it and after playing the song) which I've never seen before.

  3. Ok this is weird. I fixed Funky Glamorous Part 2 yesterday, and played it. Unless I'm on crack or my memory is seriously failing, I got a normal score on it (90%) and moved on (I only ran 3 or 4 songs for the first test last night). Next time I go back into the game, I have 0% for score. I think, "That's odd, I must've quit at an odd time or something". Today I go and play it again to see what's up and I get 90% accuracy and my score jumps up to 100%. Keep in mind this is one of the files that was skipped today when I ran them, so I'm 100% sure it had been fixed (hahaha seewhatIdidthere?)

Maybe I'm crazy. Pretty sure I'm not, but thought I'd mention it in case it's indicative of something that I wouldn't catch cos I'm not all techified. ;)

It's kinda ironic cos I hadn't played RS since the day after the patched launched, cos I didn't wanna ruin all my scores.

Edit: FYI: There was one message that showed up on most if not all of mine when I was converting them, something like "Unrecognized line in toolkit version blahblahblahversion number" but it wasn't yellow so I assumed it wasn't an error or anything to worry about.

Also keep in mind that these are all CDLCs that I made myself that I'm testing, so they were all made using the same process. I can't make any sense of what's happening here. I'm not sure it has anything to do w/ special characters anymore, cos I'm getting the same thing on some songs with plain names.

Oh, and all these songs are here on CF if you'd like to test the issue with any of them, and I linked S.O.A.P. - Grace above.

  4. OK, got it now. Clicked on all fields, nothing changed. ;)

Also, I'm watching all my babies convert right now. When it's done I'll play some more songs with special characters and see if I notice a pattern.

Edit: I like that it recognizes and skips songs that have already been fixed, so you can always just run it on your folder and not worry about wasting time fixing files that were already fixed. :)

Edit 2: FYI folks, a few files I got from before CF came along were skipped, because there were read only. If there's a way to unreadonlyize your files before converting (is there?) I'd suggest you do that first. Of course, you can always do it later and run the tool again (see Edit 1).

Edit 3: The first song I played after fixing them, Prince - 1999, jumped to 100% after playing it. 2nd song I played, Prince - America, jumped to 100% after playing it. This is not looking good.

Edit 4: I played L'Arc~en~Ciel - Trick and got 95% accuracy, and it gave me......95%. :S This is the first song I've tried that worked right since the mass conversion.

None of the songs I've tested errored out in the conversion process, just FYI.

  5. Funnily enough, the fix fixed the 100% error on my (unreleased yet, due to this reason) latest update in Prince's Alphabet St. This is the one that was having the 100% issue weeks before Remastered was even released.

About the periods thing, can't I just generate the song the regular way, instead of using the CLI? This is CDLC I made after all. I have R.E.M. songs too. If folks are mass fixing, chances are they're not going to remember every song that has an apostrophe in it or whatever (Jessie's Girl?) so they're probably gonna be stumbling upon borked CDLC for some time.

I'm guessing the special characters thing should be added to the FAQ unless we're not sure that's the problem. If you are sure, at least I guessed right and saved you a little bit of digging. ;)

Edit: If there's no way of making the CLI fix songs with periods in the fields, could you make it generate a list of which files were skipped at least?

Edit 2: I just realized this is gonna by a huge pain in the ass for me. The majority of my songs are by a group named.....drum roll...... L'Arc~en~Ciel!

Guys! I finally FUCKING fixed it! I only had to Restore Default Options on RS2014 Settings.

I just restored default settings and all cdlc I was missing after the patch is now visible.

    Thank you so much!!

Are you sure it wasn't the sorting hiding your songs? I keep track of my CDLC I've made by favoriting it and sorting by favorites, and the new system has made that a little bit annoying.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but i noticed some CDLCs doesn't update their "played times": they always show as been played 000 times. It's a minor issue.. except when you play a "learn a new song" mission and it doesn't count :D

I'm pretty sure that's only on ones that don't have DD, and I think the fix might fix that issue too, but someone can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

  7. Should a field or column be added to Ignition so we can easily filter/see which new CDLC postings/updates are "compliant" (100% bug free, etc.) with RS14 Remastered?

I don't believe so. I can't even get a field added for 24 frets, so why should you get one for this? JUST KIDDING!

Seriously though, I'm guessing 75% of the charters on this site won't being going back and updating their CDLC, and the other 25% of us don't particularly want to. There's already a plan in place to make it so you can mass fix your CDLCs, so I think that's probably the direction things are going to head in. When I make new CDLC, I'll make sure to put it in the record that it doesn't need to be fixed.

People should get in the habit of looking at the record anyway. I'm pretty sure plenty of charters are getting tired of hit & run downloaders not even leaving a thanks or a like, especially when a song has 100s of downloads.

@@MAGGERS, your english is fine. I never would've known from glancing at your posts.

I'm having an issue where no matter how many notes I miss, the final score is always 100%. If I generate it with no DD, it behaves normally. Could you take a look please? Here's the psarc, but I can give you the project files if needed.

I don't know which of the following cause the issue :

    - All the chords with the "Fret Hand Mute" status also have the "ignore" status.

    - All sections of the song have the same name.

So can you try first to remove the "ignore" status for all muted chords ?

    Thanks

    • All of my songs have Intro as the section name for every section, and that's never been an issue before.
    • Alex said that the ignores aren't the issue and that they're being counted correctly.

I can try removing the ignores, but that's not really fixing the problem. ;)

  9. I don't know if it applies here, but I've found that deleting all tone changes in the arrangement, and then re-adding them, often fixes most tone change problems (like when it skips a tone change, or plays the wrong tones in the wrong places)....but usually it happens because I tried to go and add a new change in the middle of a finished arrangement (basically never works).

  10. I went back and did what you said, and you were 100% right. I went from an 80-something to 94% by lightening up on the mutes. So....I did go back and convert all the palm mutes to string mutes (most folks probably wouldn't notice the difference by looking, honestly), and now you can really choke up on the palm mutes and get that nice chunky scratchy sound, without getting downgraded. I got 96% on my first try.

Thanks again for helping me get the song exactly how I wanted it! :D

  11. It's this song, and it's failing me on the simplest power chords and palm mutes, especially at the beginning of the song.

I can't imagine what's causing it. The song is very straightforward and not particularly fast. I checked and made sure the notes were grid snapped. Could someone try it and tell me if it's just me/my game? I even tried 2 different guitars, and made sure they were both precision tuned and that the game was calibrated, both times.

I'm really frustrated because it's such a simple song, it's totally bizarre. Is my timing off somehow?

    Thanks,

    Bill

  12. The next one I'm doing is Cho Jealous ("So Jealous" or "Ultra Jealous"), which is pretty epic for a Maboroshi song. Even more riffs than usual, lots of lead bits, and a big solo that approaches the craziness of The Warudakumi. I've got most of the main parts finished, with only part of the bridge and all the lead/solo to go (which is the hardest part to chart by ear, of course).

It's a great song. I haven't looked for a translation yet, but I think the gist is that a rich guy in a suit comes up to them and tells them that it's better to be married to a fine lady than play the field, and then later they encounter the same fellow, now in jeans and ratty clothes, who says that his fine lady left him and took all his money, and he should've stayed single....if I'm getting it right....

Not sure if it'll be this weekend (have all the bass to do too, plus the tones and all the testing and final shit) but it'll be soon! :)

<- *Sits behind desk, facing the wall. stroking a large cat*

Actually I just added bass to these, so anybody who gave them a pass for being guitar-only, there you go!

I also added a third song to the Maboroshi family. It's from the same album as the other 2, which I'm only just now getting to know, beyond those 2 singles they made videos for. This is the first track on the album, and I'm already in love with it:

    It's called Dorobou (Burglar).

This one has guitar and bass as well. :D

  14. Once you enter the precision tuning mode after failing to tune a string you can move around and pass the check on all except the last strings by using the arrow on your keyboard.

And no they won't remove tuning though they said tuning for session mode will be skippable which might help mods for applying skip tuning in the whole game.

Are there mods for this game? I saw Alex talking about skipping the intro (which would be awesome) but I didn't quite understand. Is there a forum/thread regarding mods, and is that something we can talk about here? Obviously not anything peg-leggy (Arrrr matey!).
