  1. You mean something like this? http://customsforge.com/topic/20557-skins-in-rs/ Wich is in the mod section btw
  2. Thanks! didn't think of using arpeggio for a rake. Might try it out if there's a section that benefits from it but I agree it can block out some view, but just putting the notes very close together isn't that great either so I'll have to test it. And shame other ones aren't supported, altough I guess for a strum direction, if slow enough, you can just use an arpeggio too or a small distance between the notes but that might make things a bit too confusing
  3. So I have a few questions to check if I'm not missing something Are these things possible to author in EOF / supported by RS? Staccato: This doesn't matter too much and most likely isn't supported by RS, but I was wondering if there is something possible to add visually to see if a chord or note is played staccato. Maybe with the crazy note status? Don't have much experience with 'crazy' so maybe I overlooked something. Rake: I guess this can be authored by just having the notes very close together. Just wondering if there is any special feature for it to make it more visible since all notes are very close together. Or is there a special standard to be used for this? To make it consistent. (not that I seem to had issues with hitting a rake in RS but haven't tested it specifically so far) Strum (up/down): I'm guessing this isn't supported in RS? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong but I wasn't seeing it in RS last time I tested a song
  4. Thanks! Must have forgot that was a thing. I'll just use that then
  5. So in EOF, in order to get the muted chord part to show up in RS at a "good" position you need to assign notes to it. I used it as the first chord in a series of chords as muted, but now RS never shows the actual chord to play but just the empty windows, since the "first chord" displayed is muted. I don't know if it's possible, but I don't think a muted chord should be considered as a real chord and the next "real" chord should still be displayed in RS. I know the example isn't the best as I probably should use the previous chord as muted, but I have several other sections in the song with the same issue.
  6. I think if you use the link next option on the sustained note it will not show the last note in RS. not 100% sure about that tough shortcut for linknext is [shift + n]
  7. You might want to add how you did it, could be usefull for other people that have the same question and stumble on this thread I know you can just use set up a ghost note at the end of the sustain and use a slide from that note. But maybe it's possible to do this with tech notes too, since you can use slides in them. I just tried it in eof but the view doesn't change so I'm wondering RS would recognise it or not. Anyone know if that works? Or someone know the forum post with info about using things like slides/vibrato in tech notes? I remember seeing it in a thread but couldn't find it anymore last time I searched for it.
  8. A while back I saw someone post a program that generated the pitch from an audio file. Anyone has any idea what it was called or knows the forum post? Been looking for it and just can't find it anymore for some reason. The post was maybe made max 6 months ago or earlier. Any other alternatives are also always welcome.
  9. check if you used the standard tone, it freezes the game when you load a song
  10. Never knew RS kept track of this. Kind of surprised of my most played songand specially the low count on some others. I should start playing some songs more often so I don't forget how to play them after like a week. rythm 24 - R u mine - arctic monkeys 12 - black betty - ram jam 11 - bomb track - rage against the machine 9 - walk this way - aerosmith 8 - paralyzer - finger eleven lead 37 - on top of the world - matt montgomery 28 - same old song and dance - aerosmith 22 - the stroke - billy squier 21 - mean bitch - taddy porter 21 - california brain - rapscallions
  11. Ah thanks. Explains a lot. Always tought it searched on tags too. I might go change a few things then, like artist etc, so it's easier to search for.
  12. I posted my first cdlc a day ago and wanted to check the database today. Searching on some tags I had set up for the cdlc doesn't seem to show the cdlc for some reason. cdlc page: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/you-blues-r19615 Tags: Blues lesson lesson blues licks you blues You - blues ikwtif lessons blues lessons For example when searching for these tags my cdlc never shows up blues licks - 0 results blues lessons - 1 result with the dlc showing up has the tags: Scales Lesson Guitar Blues lesson - 26 results
  13. I have been putting some blues practice lessons in a cdlc, most of the songs should be descent enough but I'm done working on them since I already spend waaay too much time on them and I don't need them for practice myself, also I want to slowly start with part 2 that has more advanced practice songs and finish the other songs I was working on. Part 1 is very basic for the most part and I assume you have a grasp on chords/scales. I'll probably make a thread with some more basic info for each song but before I release it in the database, maybe someone would give it a playtrough so if there are still minor mistakes I can fix them. It's a 21 song pack. Most of the titles give you a general idea of what the songs offer. Some fairly short and easy. But for difficulty, I would say they go from beginner to intermediate in order, each song teaching some different techniques you can incorporate into your own playing. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/upgs4nh8hzp2lf2/AABKsgRGqofYS5Bha8_waxtFa?dl=0
  14. Could be because the arrangement has the tone set to the default one, as far as I'm aware that freezes the song/game when you start it. Just unpack the file and reimport the arrangements with the toolkit to check if it still has a tone different than the default one assigned to it
  15. Not sure about your issue but you can try using http://www.chevolume.com/ to try to force the application to use the different audio device, maybe that helps.
  16. Nice! Good to hear my info was usefull. I'll wait for the next update to properly sort my songs then
  17. I found a comment in a thread where was said that the "add selected songs to setlist copies songs instead of moving". I wanted to sort my cdlc in setlists trough the manager (while being able to see the tunings) but the copy option makes it a lot harder to actually make setlists and being sure I'm not missing any songs etc. No idea if it is still possible or too much work, but I would love a toggle option for this, where we can either chose to move or to copy a song to a setlist so the cdlc's don't just stay in the main cdlc folder after adding them to a setlist. I can see the copy option being good to make multiple setlists with the same songs, but it's very hard to actually make setlists when all the songs just stay in the main list you have to use to add them to setlists. Do you have the last best version (v1.1.3.2) ? "Add selected song(s) to setlists" now copies a song to setlist, instead of moving it.
  18. Yeah, I noticed that for a few songs, but I'm fairly sure the one I mentioned only has drop D tuning for all arrangements, but maybe I'm wrong I'll check it later Edit: Both arrangements (bass & lead) are drop D for the song. Also, the song manager tab is showing E standard anyway for both arrangements so there is something going wrong with getting the info from the file. Or at least the lead arrangement should show drop D there Also unpacking the file with the custom toolkit and then adding the xml files shows the proper tuning, not sure if that's usefull but yeah I'm not sure how the song manager reads the tunings but was going trough some files and the one file I found something about tuning seems correct(songs_dlc_billyredflag.hsan) "Tuning" : { "string0" : -2, "string1" : 0, "string2" : 0, "string3" : 0, "string4" : 0, "string5" : 0 }
  19. I'd suggest using the customforge song manager to toggle setlists. I use it since recently to toggle between different tunings and seems to work just fine. http://customsforge.com/forum/81-customsforge-song-manager/
  20. I assume you mean the note with the black box. You can toggle that box with "t" while the note is selected. With a regular note the sustain stops with the next note, using "t" to toggle makes you able to use a longer sustain. It does not affect anything in the game, you can adjust the sustain with scolling the mouse button and having the note selected, like a regular note. the setting is also in [ note - crazy - toggle ]
  21. Yeah I'm not even sure how it happened or if I just missed it while making the cdlc. I know some parts are probably because I copied a section, but there seem to be way more parts off from the beat map. It's tedious, but probably wouldn't be that much different, but at the moment I'm just using the "highlight non grid snapped notes" to see wich ones are off and snap them back to the grid. Just not sure how all these notes shifted this much since I imported them from a gpro file. Guess I did something wrong somewhere a while back because I have the same problem in a few songs
  22. Is this possible? I opened a song I was working on and for some reason some beat markers are off from the notes. Is it possible to drag the beatmarkers to the notes (who are on the beat) without adjusting notes? I know you can lock the beat markers but I can't find anything just for locking notes.
  23. nevermind, it was just the regular bend icon. first time I noticed that copied over tough -------------------------------------------------- I copied a whole phrase section in a song wich had a lot of bends. For the duplicate part it still shows the icons under the notes for bends. So I guess the icons are just bugged since you can't copy tech notes anyway. Adding/removing new tech notes on them doesn't make them dissapear but they don't interfere with it either so it's not that big of a problem.
  24. Thanks, the new hotfix fixed it for me!
