  1. I was on YT and found this deal through TTK , a channel I subscribe to. I would be ordering one of these, if I had the $299 to spend: http://www.worldmusicsupply.com/search.aspx?si=&sp=293-1111 24 fret neck thru carved mahogany body and neck - rosewood fret board jumbo frets Emg 81/85 sperzel locking tuners 25 1/2" scale Tone-pro bridge
  2. you got that right mate. I buy a decent bag of arabica beans for $12 / kg .. I grind just enough for each day every morning... worth getting up for a big mug of that and to smoke (finally), some of my own grown sanity-erizer . :)
  3. re the Sultans cdlc . is anyone finding it hard to "immerse" themselves into song because the guitar tones aren't 'fitting' the piece ? is there a way to change the guitar tones using the toolkit ? does anyone know where I could find some Mark K. guitar tones I could replace, if such a thing can be done by a nooblar ? No way I'm going to develop sufficient facility at his technique in one week to even consider posting a score, but I do want to learn to play it. Right after the other 5 I'm trying to master that is. I have got to get a bass. All of you are having way too much fun playing those. Would be lovely to have more ladies join in  . Why should all the fun activities be sausage fests? Gahhhh !!!
  4. I don't know if this will work for bass players, although I think it should. Several months ago I was practicing so many hours a day to try to master songs that I was causing damage to my tendons, causing swelling, itching and pain. Not to mention I love playing guitar and I was literally afraid I would lose this valuable part of my life. Two major parts of this issue were that: a--- hitting the strings way too effing hard to fret a note... very easy habit to fall into. especially if you've played acoustic guitar first. Seriously, on my ESP Horizons, you can just look at the strings and a note will fret. Bad habits... b---- my fretting hand wasn't ever that limber and not that well co-ordinated with the picking hand, even when I was doing stretches. From an efficiency point of view, my technique was sucking and holding me back. My dreams of one day doing Gates and Petrucci and even Govan things flawlessly, are never going to be realized unless I back up and improve my fundamental playing techniques. I picked a key --- A is one of my fav... I then learned several modes : minor pent - aeolian - blues patterns in 2 octaves aka 24 frets . you can jam with just about anyone with these modes . the premise is that once I master this key, then I will move onto others I like, such as C natural, E and G. Lastly and most importantly, I warmup every day now by doing 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour of legato. Sometimes, almost 2 hours. Now, my only complaint after 4+ hours of practice, is that I can't go on ... but not because my hand is sore .. my butt and back are. I've been looking at the recent post on guitar chairs .. I've been using an expensive obus type chair without the arm rests on.. even so That quicklok guitar chair --- would like to try one of them -- guitar stools are imo - pooh
  5. is it just me, or is there a lot of excellent guitar players (and musicians ) who come from South America ? is it the women or the heat?
  6. See I've been thinking about that myself, it's a shame we don't have more players because three classes really is a bit too restrictive. Maybe Bachsmith will cause a classical custom revolution which makes loads of players come to Customsforge :) I've been keeping an eye on what you all have been up to ;) .. I want to join in again but several things hold me back. I'm between Int and MC .. there is a big jump between those two .. in real world terms thousands of hours of practice and exposure to better musicians .. secondly, I'm a bit too competitive than I would like .. but against myself .. ie... I hate not having enough time to 'learn' a song in the week we have ... I don't like to rush through anything and do a shit job of it ... yet a weekly format is probably the best way for the competition. tell you all one thing... one day I want to get an Ltd bass, and add some bass playing to my videos. that looks like a blast Very grateful Unleashed and the others made this site happen.
  7. I was using master mode 'on' for months also . glad I'm over it I think I commit a bit more than others here :) thats what I'm calling it Breaking the Law Judas Priest 74x 105% Hysteria Def Leppard 53x 98% Knights of Cydonia Muse 62x 107% Pour Some Sugar on Me Def Leppard 113x 106% R U Mine Arctic Monkey's 179x 103% Space Ostrich Disonaur 127x 101%
  8. Did you mean this ? https://github.com/Jamedjo/RSTabExplorer/releases It does open the .psarc files in question, and display the tab charts. For some that is likely to be an invaluable tool. For me, I've spent years trying to learn songs from tab, without success. Thanks for the suggestion, but for me, its not what I'm looking for. If Riff Repeater could be paused, slowed down and rewound to anyplace you need to have a go-over, without having to start over, or break a song into pieces......
  9. I have done.. with no response.. that is why I was asking if there is a way I could do it :(
  10. I'm encountering some customs of bands and songs I really want to learn, but for some reason the creators are making them one long piece.... I'm getting better at guitar, but I don't know anyone who can learn a song, even slowed down by using RR, in one sitting. For instance there are two nicely charted , with good tones, Journey songs that I've wanted to learn for decades. Stone in Love, and Anyway You Want It. Unlike most other songs I've played, these are not broken into sections, so that you can learn passages in RR one at a time. Especially for lead breaks. These are basically (no offense), one run-on sentence. Imagine reading text books in school that were just one big paragraph......... My question is : Is there a way, preferably simple, as I am intelligent, but not inclined to mess with code, to modify these .psarc files to break them into multiple sections? I don't care about DD really, as I always go to 100% and then use RR to slow down the phrases. Thank You.
  11. Wow Shiroo, you make some killer customs. That one is imo, technically way beyond most of the popular rock music, and should be in a 4th and new category in the Custom's Forge Rocksmith Championship. I humbly submit for people who play as well or better than SirBlambleofGam, their category should be "you damn straight I got skills, Son. "
  12. I live in the north, low pop, and no mentors to go work with, even if I could afford the expense. Disability income isn't much here. Personally, if you can find a talented mentor you have a good rapport with, it will be very beneficial. Until then, Rocksmith, Utube vids, friends who kick ass on guitar, and a good work ethic has worked for a lot of players. If nothing else, play because it takes you to a happy place.
  13. I like the Master class choice this week, been on the list a looooong time. So much so, its now going to be a video project with lead and rhythm. I've been really putting a lot of hours trying to improve my LH RH integration, economy technique, LH legato, touch and speed. For too long I've been using way too much pressure on my fretting fingers, and even with warm-ups, 3+ hour sessions, sometimes 2 a day, is causing some sore tendons in my left fore arm. I know I'm coming up on another plateau of skill, so eliminating bad habits is now a priority, or I risk injury. That being said, I hope to put up some scores this week. We have some very cool people and some awesome musicians in this friendly competition, and I'm glad I found CF.
  14. I'm out this week gang. Both intermediate and master not a style I want to play. Play hard and prosper
  15. Its what I call the yips..... stagefright.... I wish I could just get in the zone and play all the way through without worrying about getting a good score, then losing focus. When I'm in the zone, I play much better, almost good even. Time slows down (relatively), and playing is effortless and flows better than a drug high. But when trying to better your result or video for Utube...... I stress out and flub notes... Anyways, great work all. Extra props to you and Motive for almost perfect runs.
  16. @Krazyone happy to hear your outlook is good and no pain . come back soon and give us more high scores.
  17. yesterday note detection was f'd. today was better. http://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r745/Kasnitch/CFweek25YouGiveLoveaBadName9928_zps40d1f982.jpg
  18. He might have taken a screenshot too quickly for the score to appear as it is. I think the game shows random digits right before the real score (I might be wrong though) Thanks Thrallsa for the great observation. I didn't have Bandicam running, so when I saw the accuracy and streak info show, I hit the "print screen" button so I could post my result. I must have caught the random numbers as you said. The actual score was 781,899 shown in the top right of the pic. It was my second try on score attack.
  19. @Krazyone man that bites **** . I hope you heal fast man, you keep us honest in here and missing playing for along time is shit. I hope to better this by Sat. http://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r745/Kasnitch/CFweek25YouGiveLoveaBadName9832_zpsc099736b.jpg
  20. @Kedhrin impressive collection of Schecter's. That game you are working on looks bad-ass man. I'll be looking for the release of Revival. I played Rift 2 years and bailed because of the lust for the purple, yellow and gasp, orange items. Not really, but the 8 hours a day of playing to become and remain a top player was too costly on my life. I hope you and Illfonic have great success with it.
  21. All of us get frustrated. Don't look too far ahead, you need many hours of practicing to develop muscle memory and create new neural pathways. If you have the passion in you for guitar, playing becomes part of your life, and helps you to become a better person. I started at age 52, 5 1/2 years ago. Looking back, I can't believe I didn't give up, progress was so slow, and my playing just shit for years, until I heard about Rocksmith2014 last October. The technical improvement in my playing the last few months has for me been astonishing. That doesn't mean much without some context about persevering. I worked as a miner in deep underground gold mines here in north Ontario from 1985 to 2009. The type of mining I did is called jackleg mining, and is very physical. So much so that I have a lot of legacy issues after busting ass for those years. Left hand index finger cut to the tendon and bone first joint, now curved so that barre chords are not straightforward. Left hand pinky, crushed by being pinned - yes another f'ing falling rock. Right hand had thumb split open by a rock fall, wrist broken, index finger broken. White hand in both hands and feet. ie: vibratory damage from drills And of course, the obligatory back strains from years of heavy lifting and exertion. I chose that work, because I loved it. The injuries made me stronger, and I accept them. That part of life is over, and playing guitar does it for me now, in a big way. If you want to be a good guitar player, you can be. Just tell that part of you that says, dammit all this practice is going nowhere, to step off and get out of your way. Hope you take the road. Its a life affirming one.
  22. Pretty sure you are going to love that guitar. Lovely looking she is.
  23. Those are some sexy bass guitars. That SG made the hair on my arms and neck stand up lolz. I hope she plays as smoking hot as she looks ?

Before Rocksmith 2014, this is what I played my guitars through. If only the GSP would play with Rocksmith, so I could play through the gear. The sound quality would be studio quality then. One area Rocksmith is lacking in is big quality sound. The speakers are custom made by Saxon Cabs here in Ontario. Tim does incredible work. This pair is handmade 1" pine, 2x12" Eminence Legends, partly closed back cabs. The pair, including tax+shipping, was $1100 total. Try finding a better deal anywhere. Cheers all. http://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r745/Kasnitch/IMG_0865_zps299d9231.jpg http://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r745/Kasnitch/IMG_0867_zps4d81bb1b.jpg
  25. Took some pics this morning of my beautiful ladies. They are both 2011 ESP Standard Horizons, and are superb instruments. Axemusic.com here in Canada still has one of each of these in stock as of a couple days ago. The red FR model is about $2199 and the blue NT is about $1800 . Considering the 2014 models are made the same but with different headstocks, but cost $5000, I would think hmmmm.. wtf. These guitars are 95% as good as the PRS Studio I had, which cost $1400 more. The other 5% is made up by their own electronics and pickups, which are the best I've heard. Play feel is as good or better on the ESP guitars. Cheers all.
