  2. Had a few goes at Transylvania on bass. It took a little bit of work on some trouble spots, but I eventually managed this: http://i.imgur.com/bZuKiAH.jpg I think that was one missed note (which makes wonder how @@Limesak missed two with that streak). Main spots that gave me trouble (with regards to Rocksmith note detection) were the fills in the first half with the slides (usually either the slide itself or the transition to the Eb string after the fill) or in the second half where there are the quick ascending minor pentatonic hammer-ons before the string of high Eb's (where I often miss the Db just before). Outside of Rocksmith, I find it somewhat difficult to play everything in time on this given the speed and feel of the song. On this last run I think I got the feel right for most of the fills in the second half, though there were definitely one or two I played much closer to a straight feel rather than a swing one. The fast stuff in the first half of the song I find very tough to really be on rhythm for, and often turns to me spamming 16th notes or an arrhythmic mess. Edit: Also, since the arpeggios on bass have become a topic of conversation... I remember when I played The Trooper the first time totally freaking out when I got to the riff under the first solo and there were these panes appearing and I didn't know what was going on. Which makes me ask, you have played The Trooper @@missis sumner, right?

  5. http://i.imgur.com/P1vuvzA.jpg This Adv is pretty tricky in places. I still think I can do better, but it's probably high time in the week that I start focusing on my class, so this might be the last time I drop in on Bob. http://i.imgur.com/Cve7mIf.jpg This isn't in any of the Lead classes, but I was jealous of you bassists so I played it anyway.

  8. Ok Guys. Its been over Year since I charted anything, But here is a pass at Emerson Lake and Palmer Nutrocker, live recording they added to Pictures at an Exhibition 1971/ Only for the Bass Players though, sorry no guitar in it... But I guess you could do emulted bass on it . Fun upbeat tune to play. I think its pretty close, some minor sync issues and maybe a few extra notes in the tab, but I am pretty happy with it for my first chart in a year lol .. . https://www.mediafire.com/?gwnw5gg68x54040 https://www.mediafire.com/?gwnw5gg68x54040 Jerry

  11. Hello all, If you're ever thinking of looking for a new guitar, I have some advice. There's a lot of leeway in new guitar pricing, but retailers are mandated to sell products at the price the manufacturer demands. If the retailer doesn't follow these rules, the manufacturer can deny them their products. Hence, that's the reason you'll find the same guitar at the exact same price everywhere you go. Here's my example: I emailed a bunch of eBay sellers to see what their best prices were for a brand new Jackson RRT-3 which retails for $900. I got two answers back: one guy said $669 w/free shipping, no tax; the other said $700 w/free shipping, no tax, and a brand new Jackson hardshell case that retails for $140. I also contacted Sweetwater, a big retailer in Ft. Wayne that I like, and they said they would do whatever they could to beat anybody's price. One of the eBay retailers wrote me a nice email explaining that even though he lists his guitars as "used in pristine condition" , "used and un-played", or "used and mint", they are actually brand new with warranty, but he can't list them as new on eBay without putting them at full $900 price. My advice to new guitar buyers would be to go to Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc. and find the guitar you like, then hit up a bunch on online retailers to see who can give you the best offer. A savings of over 25% is pretty significant. I think I'm going to have to pull the trigger on the RRT-3 with case. I've always wanted one of these Jackson Rhoads' Vs. http://www.iguitarmag.com/media/166086/jackson-pro-series-rrt-3-rhoads.jpg

  18. 1. Judas Priest: Breaking the Law (46 times, 104.2%), the ultimate beginner song, makes you feel so good as a n00b. 2. Pearl Jam: Jeremy (33 times, 101.9%), mostly from my beginner days, I haven't played it much lately. 3. Pearl Jam: Black (31 times, 94.9%), a great moody song full of chords and arpeggios, I can't play it cleanly to save my life. Epic solo. 4. Stone Temple Pilots: Vasoline (30 times, 102%), the first song I could 90%+. 5. Arctic Monkeys: R U Mine? (29 times, 102.5%), not a fan of them but a great beginner song. Overall my most played are mainly songs which made me feel good as a beginner, the time when it is most vital that you don't think you're terrible :)
