  1. Update: http://i.imgur.com/BrVnxsz.jpg Two misses, one in the arpeggios in the long intro, one stupid one in the harmony section (not in the transition this time). Your move, @@then3verend. Will either of us have the time/skill to 100% it?

  2. Rocksmith crashed halfway through my NDD version, so i tossed it and went back to the risky version. Just a little increase but now im playing with the big boys on hard mode. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k228/maztor42/Rocksmith%20championship%202014/When%20the%20wild%20wind%20blows%209615_zpsqrg41v67.jpg I really don't like to RR solos, i find it boring as hell. and playing a 11min long song just to learn the solo is not effective at all. :(

  4. Definitely a freebird for this week as I've just not got any time to play Billy now for the ADV bass... so here's a small update on Bruce, Bru, Bruben, me ol' Bruski. MCFB: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=511467098 Will spend some time in LAS on the solo and post an SA score some time tomogsy or Saturday... Nailed the arpeggio's from what my shoddy ears tell me, I like the pace, feel like I'm playing my old classical guitar again :D. There's definitely a gallop or ten missing from the tab but I'm kinda glad as the nice 8ths are a much needed rest for my old crone hands.

Ever closer to 100%: http://i.imgur.com/vxtXTgt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/7Q2pgGY.jpg Takes a ton of effort to even see 1% improvement on these songs, with the constant trickiness in Stratus and the massive girth on Wild Wind. 23. Yeah, I'd say this is sort of like the last Maiden song we had. The extended arpeggio sections are tricky when you don't have the hang of them, but once you "get" arpeggios there's not really that much difficulty in the rest of the song (well, there's the harmony, but that isn't that bad with some RR). I'm pretty sure week 99 will be the best week out of the coming few for me, too. @@Mortalo - you on top of this? :D Anyway, I think I'm pretty much done with the Maiden one, then. Too long for me to seriously entertain going for 100% for a single point, and it's a little too varied with so many sections for me to seriously contemplate going for master mode. Also, I gave "Stratus" a try. I can see why that would give the fretting hand problems, as it's almost constantly lifting and dropping one finger over the same fret (so most people would probably use the same finger pretty much all the way through). Pretty tiring, but I didn't find it quite as bad on the hand as a Billie Jean type bassline. Perhaps because you don't always have a finger down. Anyway, I used it as an opportunity to work on my ring finger and pinkie a little bit. Also, that outro riff is dope. I agree on Stratus fretting finger. I used 2 fingers for it, started with index and middle, and if they started getting tired I changed to middle and ring, later I changed back. With only one finger you gonna die ^_^ (or the finger)

  25. @@cdeath had a similar problem on one of the customs he was making. I don't remember the full details of how he fixed it, but the things that we tried were 1) Adding riff repeater sections (if they aren't already there). If the note highway gets way zoomed out there's more stuff onscreen for the game to render, so things slow down. 2) Re-making the .wem. If I remember correctly he said the folder that WWise made for that one was significantly larger than usual (maybe forgot to uncheck some of those boxes?). If you're using the .wav directly in the toolkit this may not be a problem any more. Not a whole lot to go on, but I hope this helps at least a little!

  30. Yeah, that got me my first time through as well. Especially since it seems like it's not the easiest way to play it. Struggling with note recognition on the arpeggios a bit, but... http://i.imgur.com/0wWmJ4p.jpg Most of the misses were on the arpeggios in the intro (and yes, I've noticed the ones that are different) and one other on the transition to the harmony bit Noony mentioned. Kind of awkward going across that many frets and strings so quickly. Edit: Also, there are definitely places where there's a gallop but the tab has straight eighths, and I think there's a sync issue with one of the transitions in one of the verses over the gallop riff (the one that's tabbed as such). Relatively minor annoyances, but...

  32. I took a look at the file and the problem is due to one of the major deficiencies of the Guitar Pro 4 format: Alternate endings. In other versions of the format (or at least version 5), if an alternate ending applied to the first and second pass, that would be encoded in the GP file as the binary value 11b. This the right-most 1 means the measure was used in the first pass, and the second to right-most 1 means the measure was used in the second pass. This makes sense, right? In GP4 format, it encoded the value as 2 as if to say that measure is used in pass numbers 2 and below. Then if the next measure applies to passes 3 and 4, its alternate ending is encoded as 4 as if to say it applies to all passes 4 and below, except for passes 2 and below because of the previously encoded alternate ending. This notation greatly complicates things and even means that certain alternate ending patterns are difficult or maybe even impossible to author in GP4 unless measures and alternate endings are defined in an agreeable order. I'll change the logic a bit to try to allow this file to import, but any kind of elaborately structured tabs will be better off in GP5 format.

  35. That would be a start, but that misses out on lots of stuff. For example, a lot of Dream Theater songs are in BEADGC on bass (not sure if that's how they're done on here...) despite the guitar being in E standard much of the time. There are definitely other bands that have 5/6 string bass despite only having 6 string guitar, though I think it tends to be a mostly prog metal thing.

  40. RS2014 levels down whatever the settings, and DD Remover works fine, for the songs I tried. In case you need it, put the DD arrangement as a bonus or alternate arr. in the toolkit, and the non DD as main arrangement. I do this for all my cDLC, to avoid this "selecting all and level up to 100%". Now I add (+DD) to the RS Song name, so you know there is a bonus file. Everybody should be happy this way.
