  3. @ I just need someone to test the guitar part, not transcribe it. I used my Taste songbook to get the guitar tab and the transcription was extremely accurate although I still had to make quite a few corrections to get the rhythm on some parts right. @@manchot66 A more accurate translation for drums would be "Schlagzeug"; "Schlaginstrumente" would mean something like percussion or percussive instruments. :D

  6. Cable probably isn't configured properly. I think if you head to /Steam/steamapps/common/Rocksmith 2014 you'll find a pdf with instructions on how to configure the cable correctly. edit: also check this page http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/802854-Rocksmith-2014-PC-Configuration-and-FAQ-Forums Anyway, is there anything better than a lazy rainy Sunday of guitar playing ? 7. Thankfully, English is quite an easy language to learn, at least in comparison to other languages. I've learnt French and Russian in school as well but I wouldn't be able to write or even talk fluently in any of those languages. I can read and understand them at a basic level but that's about it. The only language I have an advanced level in is English and that's because it's so omni present in every medium and just by reading and listening to it, I've radically improved my vocabulary and grammar skills. My conversational skills are definitely lacking though because I rarely talk in English. Regarding higher education: University in Austria is mostly free (at least for now) but the state isn't providing enough money to counter balance the university's upkeep and pay for the professors which is becoming increasingly problematic. Educational standard is still relatively high, I'd say, but the university of Vienna isn't ranked very high internationally. Other institutes of higher education usually have fees but they are not extremely high and they have a stricter curriculum, trying to educate you for specific job purposes. They are a good option if you know exactly what you want to do and can afford it but you definitely need to do it full time and you won't have as much options later on.

  8. Since every CDLC here uses Cherub Rock for the app id, it might be worth it just to buy that. When you have to convert every single custom song over to Cherub Rock's ID, you might start regretting your decision. It'd personally be worth it to me to spend the small amount of extra money on Cherub Rock, but that's just me. I can't imagine having to convert every single CDLC I've played being worth saving a dollar or two.

  9. @@Aludog I'm always impressed with how well you guys use English. When we learn a second language in school here, we could never be fluent in conversation. The best we could do is make an ass of ourselves trying to speak a native language while on vacation. Kudos to you guys and a quite obviously superior education system. Sorry to get off topic but is college/university free in Austria? College costs here are so high students have to go into big debt just to get a degree.

Listening to this song makes me want to bang on some schlaginstrumente (new word I just learned from the tab). That would make me a schlagzeuger. Sorry, I'm easily entertained by Google Translate.

  14. Weird - where's the quote button gone? It's probably there somewhere but I'm using a differnet brower for reasons that will become apparent... So after karting on Friday evening I drove over to my mum's for cat sitting duties, and as I was getting my bag out of the car, I managed to drop it quite heavily on the floor. And you've guessed it - that was the bag with my laptop in. I now have a nice big dent in my Macbook Air, and a non-charging charger - which somehow managed to get bent at the connector end during the accident. So I didn't manage to play yesterday, which I'm gutted about, and I'm on a borrowed laptop, but hopefully by Tuesday, I'll be back... Anyway - RS cables - lovely things they are. Of the two I have, both have failed at the jack end. @@Nacholede, if you lop off the jack (about an inch up the cable should do it) and solder a new jack on, you'll probably solve your issue. :)

  18. There are tons of youtube channels that focus on guitar and bass lessons. You could probably get in touch with at least one of them to get tabs and backing tracks to build customs from (if they don't already provide those resources in the video descriptions). Rather than having to sit down and design a curriculum from scratch, you could make a set of customs to augment a specific youtube channel that's already released a bunch of structured lessons. And when I say "you", I mean in the general sense -- whoever might be interested in such a project. I'm not trying to force the idea on @@Laro or @DeadlyPower ;) I'd be really cool if we could make custom lessons (with videos and all that), but I'm not sure anyone's looked into modifying the etudes.psarc file (I assume lessons are all stored in there). It's probably not too different from normal dlc packs, but messing with that may just be outside the scope of things the toolkit devs want to work on. The game may not even be setup to parse additional lessons beyond what it was shipped with, which would explain why there haven't been any official lesson expansions.

  21. My score for Muffin Man http://i.imgur.com/8gORAdz.jpg The bass part is fun to play, but there are definitely some issues. For one, the sync is pretty far off in places. It could just be inaccurate rhythms in the tab too, since the sync is fine elsewhere and I've no idea how the guitar tracks look as far as sync goes. Another issue, maybe more of a personal preference, is that all (or almost all) the variations that follow the main riff should be played from the 4th fret position. Rather than playing the main riff sometimes from 1st fet, sometimes from 2nd, it would make more sense and feel more natural to always play it from the 2nd fret, and then shift to play the riff that varies each repetition. As it is now, it's just really inconsistent and awkward to play. I think most of the difficulty stems from this, otherwise I'd say it's not much harder than last week's intermediate track. Also, the 90 seconds of story time to start every run gets annoying pretty quick  I can skip it in RR obviously, but I'm not sure I have the patience to try improving my results in score attack very much this week.

  22. Thanks, I've fixed this. It looks like it would only happen if the base chord in an arpeggio/handshape had more than one non ghosted gem. As far as "previous_save" being appended during each save, this would probably only happen if you are opening the previous_save backup each time you load your project (meaning you are editing an old version of the project). The next hotfix changes the file extension of project backup saves, so it will be hard for people to do this on accident.

  34. @@Skyy22 - In addition to intonation problems (which hopefully aren't that serious if they checked the setup), it's possible that you're fretting the strings too hard or bending them somewhat as you fret, both of which are pretty common problems for beginners. Sometimes I've had problems with how Rocksmith detects notes on high frets even when my intonation is on point based on a real world tuner, and in that case it usually helps improve note detection by tuning somewhat flat (~10 cents, or even a bit more once you get past the tuning screen) in game. I've had to do this on a couple of songs that we've had in the Championship several weeks back.
