  1. @@MilkmanDan No this is my second son. My oldest is three. I have lost about 2 dozen pics over the years. Still no idea where they all went. And thank you all for your congratulations. This is truly a community of awesome people. Top Class. Thank you. :-P

  3. Here it goes: Intemediate Lead - 78.49%, 108 streak: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/3317212927257506799/0453A4BA8B59F228B8457F1CFA3D96B6C718F28D/ So, this Hammer-Ons section is fun, with some RR and practice I should be able to tackle it better, as right now. when I lose rhythm. I can't get back to it for longer (when song starts I can get pretty decent streak). I have the biggest problem with this chord part. My fingers hurts and it makes other stuff more troublesome cause they're getting tired. On top of that I'm getting miss after miss (it looks like only 12 fret is hitted well by me). Tough. Intermediate Bass - 99.64%, 659 streak: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/3317212927257540661/AA279420A850AEDC23ABD7D33E6345B9EA2DD56B/ That was quite nice. If only I had paid attention and noticed that open string is followed with 1st fret maybe I could get closer to 100%.

  4. Today I found a workaround for getting the low bass notes such as low B to work with Rocksmith. I posted a scrappy test song in the database but they already pulled the plug on that, can't say I blame them :). But I got enough data for it to work as a proof of concept, you can see the discussions we had here. Me and a couple of people got a low B note, the thickest string on a 5-string bass to register in Rocksmith. My theory was that the reason Rocksmith hits the wall at C1 is because after that you go into the zeroes, B0 is next. I thought it must be because Rocksmith doesn't like handling those zeroes in there. So could Rocksmith be tricked into thinking it is still in the 1st octave while in reality it's playing the notes that are of the 0th octave? This brings us to the workaround. First off, you fiddle with the tuning in Editor of Fire. There you set the tuning to whatever is your desired tuning +6. (This is now pretty much obsolete, it's better to set it to +12, see the edits) In my test, I wanted the tuning to be in BEAD, the 4 lowest strings on a 5-string bass, so I set the tunings to 1,1,1,1. Because the B-string would be -5 compared to the standard 4-string E-string, I get -5+6=1, and so forth. Then you just chart the song as it is played in the desired tuning. If you have a chart like that already, just change the tuning accordingly and don't transpose the notes. Next, in the Rocksmith toolkit you set the tuning for the arrangement the same as in eof, in this case 1,1,1,1. But here's the trick: you counter the +6 transpose you did in the tuning by setting the middle A as 311.2 Hz in the tuning pitch section. This causes all notes to be 6 semitones lower than normal. Now, in my case the notes displayed for the strings are F1,A#1,D#2,G#2 but because of the different frequency reference the frequencies correspond to the notes B0,E1,A1,D2 in A440, or the pitch reference we normally use. As you can see, we have technically eliminated the 0th octave from the notes. EDIT: I just realized you can probably do this in a more elegant manner. If you set your tuning to desired tuning +12 and offset that by setting the tuning pitch as 220 Hz you'll get the correct letters for the notes, they'll technically be an octave higher and octave lower at the same time if that makes sense :) The reason I went with +6 is because I first tried this pitch offset on the E standard tuning where you start off from 0 and are capped by the 11 semitone limit in EoF, but for B standard -5+12=7 if my math doesn't fail me here :P Important: Make sure you're not using the same tuning in the toolkit for guitar and bass arrengements. We have already seem some snapped strings because the creator edited the "B standard" tuning in the toolkit to be 7,7,7,7 for bass and that also got applied to the guitar parts. You have to have two separate tunings, one normal for guitar and one with this trick for bass, you can look at LittleLui's post further down to see how he did this. In game when you pick the song it shows the wrong note letters for the strings when you are tuning but they will tune to the correct desired note with the in game tuner (the game says the recording is "slightly" flat or sharp, just 6 semitones :P). Now if you've done everything correctly the chart should come out as it should be played in the desired tuning, and better yet, the game actually registers all of the notes. (EDIT: This bit is obsolete with the +-12 method, the notes should be the same. Though it will say it's in A220 tuning instead of A440) I believe this should work the same for even lower tunings, if you wanna have an A string you just set the tuning on that to -1 (edit: 5 with the +-12 method), or a Bb string with the tuning set to 0 (edit: 6 with the +-12 method) for that particular string. Some funny food for thought: the theoretical lowest note you could pull off with this is Gb0 I believe. Now, the maximum tuning you can set in eof is +11, and if you set the tuning pitch as 233.1, or 11 semitones below the standard middle A you could theoretically have rocksmith register a Db0 note, that is just over 17 Hz :P (actually, after what I realized, see the edit, the lowest you can go is theoretically C0 I think) This will need some testing and fiddling around, obviously it's not an intended solution. Then again, the whole concept of cdlc's were not intended by the developer :) EDIT: Here's a video of an actual cdlc by Rockfirstlast made with this trick, seems to be working perfectly. The tuning is C# Drop B Link Update: LittleLui has done a cdlc with BEAD tuning for bass with the +-12 method and it's working. The cldc is No Love Lost by Carcass if you wanna test it for yourself. He also made this comment in another post where he explains the trick in simple steps for already charted songs, might be useful to post it here: where csct stands for the toolkit of course.

  6. Today I'm proud to announce that we will be offering a cool and special feature here at CustomsForge. This was actually recommended from a few members here and I want to thank you for the idea. We're going to launch this section in the future and have special CDLC's that will help you learn new guitar techniques. From anywhere from guitar scales to playing the bass quickly with your fingers, we will try to help you master ways to learn the guitar. Each CDLC will feature Dynamic Difficulty so you can begin at a steady pace and work your way up. We still have to figure out how we're going to do this but this is definitely something I am interested in doing. If you have any ideas, please suggest them!

  9. EOF will add it automatically (if you didn't manually define it) to the first beat that occurs after the end of the last note in a track. If you have a project that doesn't have it manually defined (you can use Beat>Events to review the manually defined phrases, sections, etc), but it's being placed far after the last note, please send it to me so I can check it out.

  14. I think... Looking on how many active users we've got - we can easilly make few songs... Cuz 1 or 2 songs may be not enough for this number of ppl - and their ideas, riffs... Anyway - great idea, I'm looking forward to it :)

  15. Well people may post other stuff as well, like I did in the first post. Those two clips won't neccessarily (almost positive) go together. People can say "Hey that demo 3 sounds cool! But not demo 1 or 2" then talk to that author and work with him/her. Ask to tab it out etc. :) Also make sure you are the original author of whatever you post. Don't want anyone getting ticked off about this. Just wanna have some fun! And have a place people can post their discarded riffs etc that they figured they would never use..who knows! Someone else may really enjoy them or know where to go from there!Cheers!

  16. Maybe first any .gp file, when song will be done, we can make CDLC, record it etc. But I think, that GPTab will be the easiest way to compose, edit this song first.

  18. That's an interesting link. The fact that it exists in a poorly implemented form (based on the reviews) leads me to think that somewhere on the horizon there may be a product that has the quality of RS2014 with built in support for other instruments. Until then, I think I'll stick with making my own. :)

  20. You'll need to unpack the file, work on the bass part in EOF, then repack. If you're only interested in the bass part, you can repack it with only the bass part. You can also contact the charter and supply your corrections, I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate that. Most guitar charters have never played bass (and vice versa) -- they're probably just importing GuitarPro files, which are usually wrong.

  30. I have enough people asking for tones or help with tones that I figured I would just upload them all for people to use if they want. I make alot of drastically different customs song styles so there is a pretty big variety to try out. Some with wah trem echo metal tones and some clean tones with effects on some and also the ones I used for game music tones. its in a rar file since uploading individually would be just silly. I wasn't sure which section to put it in so if not here some mod can move it wherever. http://www.mediafire.com/download/6el84nv8sls8ds8/all_my_tones.rar

  31. - how create and add lyrics Use Ultrastar Creator First find your lyrics online (I usually use metrolyrics.com). Copy and paste them into notepad, then save them as a .txt file. Upload your mp3 and .txt file into Ultrastar Creator and click the green play button. All you have to do is click on the words when they are sang. Save your file and use "Lyric Import" on EoF to import the file. - how add more tones in one section (for example lead section) and how to enable the auto-switch between different tones I usually make whatever the first tone you hear on a section my default. So I click on the very first beat marker and CTRL+SHIFT+T or Track->Rocksmith->Tone Change->Add. Name the very first one "Default". Then find the beat markers throughout the song where the tone changes. Let's say you make one named "Distortion" and one named "Solo." Once all of your tone changes are added, go to Track->Rocksmith->Tone Change->Names. Set your "Default" tone to be the default. When you are uploading to the toolkit, you have to name your tones exactly what you named them in the Add Tone Change list. So upload your default tone and rename it to "Default." Then your distortion to "Distortion" and solo to "Solo." Now you can import your arrangement type. If you import it before renaming your tones it will automatically create blanks tones named whatever you named them in EoF. Let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your work on new CDLC!

  32. I agree that the charter does a lot of work, and absolutely credit should be given when you're uploading somebody else's work -- taking credit for somebody else's work is just plain rude. However, a charter should not be able to claim "ownership" over a CDLC as it was never their IP to begin with. The "rocksmith content" of a CDLC not made by the actual rights-holder of a song should be considered "public domain." It doesn't make sense to claim any sort of right over a CDLC unless you own the copyright on the actual song! This is a tricky issue, and I certainly want to see charters get the credit for all their hard work and gifts to the community. I don't know who was banned or what the relevant songs were, I'm just concerned with this curious double-standard -- it's like trying to sue somebody for copyright infringement because they made a copy of your bootleg concert recording.

  34. Hello all - thanks for the awesome site and content. I'm pretty new to Rocksmith and want to load up some of the CDLC songs available here - I also look on the Anvil site (also awesome). Here is my issue. I've placed the DLL in the proper folder, fired up the RS Toolkit - changed the song from Cherub Rock to the song I purchased - and chose the CDLC song I downloaded. I have about 6 or so that I would like to use and learn. The CDLC song shows up in RS2014 as expected in the song menu (but only one at a time - not all of my CDLC files - is this typical?). When I choose to learn the custom song - RS shows me the tuner - when I finish tuning - nothing else shows up. The notes never start flying across the screen. I basically have to ctrl-alt-delete and force RS to close - and then restart. Any suggestions? Am I missing something obvious? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My time has been pulled away with some real life stuff, but we are working on updating lessons section within the game, there is a thread in the development pages about it. at some point we will be able to have fully customized lesson, like the game has. some features are harder than others, but it will be possible.
