  1. That's what I do. Open the mp3 up in Audacity, add leading silence and export a .wav to bring into EOF and an .ogg to bring into Wwise. That said, maybe it's because I play through whatever headphones I can find or the years of listening to old blues and old time recordings that sound like they were recorded to wax cylinder, but I'm no audiophile and I think this is a non-issue. I haven't downloaded a custom yet that I thought had a bad sounding recording.

  6. Ok guys, listening to some songs from Metallica (Live here in Argentina in the By Request Tour) i had an idea. If you guys could help me, we can do some songs from the tour (because they sound fuckin' amazing live). I can't do it on my own 'cause i don't know yet how to do GP Tabs and because sometimes is really hard getting some notes by ear I hope we can make this project a reality. I count on you guys!

  7. First score so far. There are a couple of sections I need to work on, but it's coming along well. Main reason I chose this song is because I know it will motivate me to get better at it :)

  8. Same here, though I changed my strings recently to 10-52s. Don't know what the issue is now. I'm just gonna submit a score to keep me in intermediate and perhaps give emulated bass a try. Awesome song from an awesome album. Good luck with those solos.

  9. I want to give a big Rockon to Metallica they are said to have the most selling album. Metallica's self-titled 1991 album, a.k.a. "The Black Album," has hit a new sales milestone, as it has become the first album to sell 16 million copies since SoundScan started tracking sales data in 1991. Metallica sold another 3,000 copies in the week ending May 25, bringing its cumulative total to 16,002,000, Billboard reports. That album, along with Shania Twain's Come On Over, are the only two records that have sold more than 15 million copies in the SoundScan era. Meanwhile, Metallica has been writing songs for its next effort, although there's no word on when the new album might be finished.

  10. First scores for Babymetal song, its not a bad song but I am going to need to change my strings to thicker strings on one of my guitars for it since I am having huge note recognition problems. http://i.imgur.com/V28pldq.jpg Every play after this last one has just been worse and worse at note recognition.

  11. I think he might be releasing the whole Hullabaloo OR he wants to spend more time with deadstar. You just have to wait I will upload when more than one song is done from Hullabaloo. My plan is to upload 2 packs. No.1 Pack will contain 1st-6th track from hullabaloo CD2 and No.2 Pack will contain 7th-11th track. Just like how I did with H.A.A.R.P in rocksmith 1 :) ...And about Dead Star, it's completely done. Lead, Bass, all perfect.

  12. To be clear, i don't think he need a 100W or even a 50W if it's just starting but i prefer to say out of my own experience that a too small amp will obliged you to change quickly so even if it's cheaper you might not use it a lot in the end and even with my mustang, playing with headphone allow me to get the full potential of the amp without starting a war with the neighbour. It's a good way to practive too since headphones have usually more bass so it gives you a different perspective on your sound. And yeah 20W can be enough to fill a room but it depends on the room you want to fill obviously, without knowing how, when and where he practice it can be hard to give a real good advice on what's best so giving him different point of view can help to make the best choice for him. Concerning the technology uses in amps, there's no right decision because they are the one creating the sound of your guitar so it depends on every one taste. I'm not a fan of tube amp mostly because they induce distortion in the sound that i'm not a fan of and if needed i can reproduce them but the opposite doesn't work but that's my personal view.

  19. I wonder how it is possible to create so many songs... Buckethead is the most amazing composer in the world, in my opinion and so great musician is really not famous if we compare to other artists (like Metallica or Pearl Jam or Slash). He composed even more songs than all the bands taken together     I really hope that some day Buckethead will be so famous as Jimi Hendrix or even more :D :D

  20. For me it's ok. I hope one day to see the entire discography but is impossible because in this moment he's probably composing a new bunch of awesome songs!

  22. How about: 'Country', 'Rap', 'Pop', 'Rock', 'Metal', 'Hardcore', 'Classical', 'Jazz'.... etc. The basics. Nothing that simplified and in a 'dropbox' manner. You could even add 'Unknown' or 'None'This essentially already exists with the TAGS while creating the CDLC. I put the band name, then, southern metal, alternative metal, whatever, in there.

  27. Feedback on No More Lies showed me that I could make some slight improvements to my beat mapping. However since it is almost complete and very playable I might as well share my latest beta version. Feedback also recommended considering all sequences similar to the 5 5 5/7 1 1 1/3 3 3 3/5 after the first chorus to be palm mute the 2 single notes before the powerchord. Watching Maiden footage it looks like Adrian is the only one palm muting. Check out 3:24 of this video: I even bought an ultimately non-noob friendly seemingly official tab from onlinesheetmusic.com, which seems tabbed differently than this CDLC and the middle of page 7 has a bunch of Cryptic "Fig 1" and no palm mutes, but later in the tab there are some sparse palm mutes. I think I will just keep Dave and Jannick without Palm mutes and Adrian with Palm mutes unless several of you have a definitive answer for me. I am told my tone is close but distortion is a bit twangy. Note: the Jannick lead intro shows a half dozen notes non-negligibly out of synch. This seems worse in YouTube than in -game but needs to be fixed. The rest of the song seems like the video notes precede the audio by less thn 100ms so it is worth me taking the time to redo this better. Still very playable in the interim, I think. Sorry for the non-standard APPID. For some reason Cherub Rock makes my CDLC crash the game. 2. Guitar tones are original, Bass tone taken from Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills 3. Tab Used: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/i/iron_maiden/no_more_lies_ver5_guitar_pro.htm# 4. Lead = Jannick Gers Rhythm = Dave Murray Bonus Rhythm = Adrian Smith Bass = Steve Harris Vocals = Bruce Dickenson 5. The Rhythm clean tone sounds high pitched relative to the song but I noticed that it is part of the harmony and it sounds better if picked lightly. Deviations from the Tab: The following are the deviations with respect to the tab, either due to RS2014 limitations or corrections made by ear: a) Jannick, measure 100: whammy bar not modeled (RS limitation) B) Adrian, measure 93: Grace notes modelled as two quickly successive notes with first note as a string muted note defined with the same fret as the note it precedes. Tab showed pre-note to be open string. Since grace notes are not part of the RS2014 feature set, the pre-note has been given IGNORE status, so missing that note won't penalize the player's score. c) Dave, measure 79: 1 grace note modeled note and pre-note as a Hammer-On; neither note is given IGNORE status. d) Adrian, measures 86,87,88,91 & Jannick, measure 94: 'artificial harmonic' and 'special harmonics' were modeled as 'pinch harmonics'. e)Dave, measure 122, Adrian, measure 122, Jannick, measure 27,28,31,32: calls for Rasgueado flamenco flicking of the strings technique. For Dave and Adrian, the flicking is quite slow and was modeled as an arpeggio. For Jannick, this was simply modeled as a regular chord being picked. f)Jannick, measure 93:, the trill in the beginning of the solowas modeled as a sequence of Hammer-On's and Pull-Offs (HOPO) each with 1/32 note duration. The trill with artificial harmonic was modelled as rapid picking (1/32 notes) pinch harmonics. g)Jannick, measure 19: was as one slide instead of three due to listening to the song. As well I made them 3 fret slides since the GP tab didn't specify the end note of the slide. Sounds right. h) Adrian, measure 86: beginning of solo pre-slide is not modelable in EoF so I treated it as a legato slide from fret 5 to fret 7 with vibrato. To score this properly, pick at fret 5, quickly slide to 7 and regardless of whether you do the vibrato you will see that you score twice doing this, 1x for the 5 and 1x for the slide to 7.It is a legato slide because you don't pick again upon sliding to 7 (fret 5 pick was set to linknext=1 so as to remove the note head on the fret 7) i)Jannick, measure 122: changed from ghost notes to string mute notes since the these notes are clearly audible in the song. Tones Volumes and Music Volumes were designed to sound best for the following: 1) In-Game Music Mixer at 100%; All Mixer volumes at 100%. 2) Recording Device Level in Windows at 71; Windows Volume Mixer for PC Speakers at 100% 3) PC Speakers treble and bass knobs set to middle 4) In-game Real Tone Cable Gain 2.0 dB Each of the guitar solos are way too advanced for me to perform so I was hoping to see someone tell me that Rocksmith is not too cumbersome to learn those flurries of notes. 28. @@Capk I somewhat agree from where you are coming from, and if was getting paid for these customs or had more time i would perfect them 100%. As i am doing these alone with no help, and as rocksmith is meant as a way to learn guitar (not have it sound 100% correct) i feel i am still providing a very useful service. basically, i could not upload any songs for the next year or so and work on perfecting each old custom, or carry on as i am making customs so i have more variety to play. I see where you are coming from, but with minimal training and only myself to rely on, i think i have done quite well. I don't mind if the guitar doesn't sound 100% correct, atleast i can still learn the song for when i play it on a real amp. I also keep time signatures from gp tab, i know notes aren't always perfectly aligned but DDC still works perfect for me. if anyone wants to help me perfect my customs by improving tones, note layouts etc it would be great. haven't had anyone offer it yet so i will carry on as i am. If its a problem maybe i just dont upload my songs? I don't mind, i mainly make them for myself anyway.@@Capk
