  1. Sorry for the lack of recent updates for some reason my tapatalk is not notifying me of replies to this thread even though I am set to receive them... Leaderboard Updated. There is some fierce competition in the intermediate class this week, I love it. Keep it up guys Also on a side note I had my MRI done yesterday and thankfully it came out negative, but I am still not going to be able to participate for a while because I want to be sure its nothing. I haven't had any pain for the last 2 days but I want to be safe and not sorry. Keep the scores coming guys its great to see all the competitors going at it and the lead is still up for grabs, no one is safe lol.

  2. a thx button prevents a thread from beeing flooded with "thx"-one-liners, but not everybody uses it I'd not derive from the number of thx that people like or dislike your work. In a bigger forum it's always like that - you've less active members and most just go for the downloads. If noone dl it and no comments+thanks I'd start rethinking what is wrong, but if you've dl, no thanks and a few comments it's not that bad ;)

  3. One benefit of the thanks button is that you don't bump song threads with thanks messages. When you want to see comments on songs or if there are updates only to find someone just posted "Thanks" Cool I can like my own post!

  4. @@slayerad2000, As MVega said : - Set the time signature (4/4, 3/4, ...) - Synchronize the first main beat with the start of the soundtrack - Set the default BPM - Import the notes from the Guitar Pro Tab file - Synchronize the main beat of each measure (vertical bar) with the soundtrack I took a look on your EOF project : Your beats seem to be well synchronized with the soundtrack, but the notes are all totally not synchronized with the beats. For the sync process, display the waveform graph, it is more accurate than the audio and be carreful when using a "playback rate" lower than 50% (possible lag between the start and the end of each note) Personally I use a playback rate at 100% with a "clap" sound for each note and I always use the waveform graph to localize the real position of the main beat of each measure. When your beatmap is totally in sync with the audio soundtrack, you can delete all notes and reimport them on your track with no more effort. I am using this process to improve my old customs (open, delete all notes, reimport them), because last releases of EOF can now apply some techs directly during the import of the guitar pro tab (and because my beatmaps are always in sync).

  5. If I may. The reason people don't hit the thanks button is that, well. It's not an in your face button. People just don't realize you can scroll over the bottom of the posted segment and hit a button. I try to thank all the charters and everyone that gives me help. I feel your pain, they say thanks in the thread but don't actually hit the little button on the chat window. The like button is right there, so that's what they hit. Just saying.

  6. Welcome to the championship @@acorlett2005. nice scores. Here is my update for today. It seems i have a bit of a problem with the bends. Sometimes they all register and sometimes they all fail. This time the last 3 sections failed. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k228/maztor42/Rocksmith%20championship%202014/Yougivelove9427fail_zps91ead2e2.jpg First time i uploaded a score with a failed attempt. :P

  10. Wow, this is amazing...thanks! As someone who only owns one bass, I'd say it's even worth doing for my CDLC that are in Eb standard so I don't have to constantly tune and re-tune for one or two odd songs in a session. sleepy

  12. @@Sureshot What custom song was it? We don't want that song in our dlc folder and this happening again. I'm still in mourning for all I have loss. Every time I open my new profile with no progression its like a kick in the balls. Also if that song was from CS it would be good to communicate with the one who released it and analyze what does it have different from the other songs so this does not happen again. If the bug is detected tutorial on how to make customs could be updated so this bug can be avoided.

  14. I ran into this a while ago and bookmarked it, thinking it might be useful one day: EHX Effectology The problem is most of the tones I've looked at use the HOG or POG pedal and I don't think that Rocksmith has an equivaent.

  15. i barely give any thanks because i prefer to give constructive feedback first then see if the author correct his custom and finally thanked him. I see on my own custom that i don't have a lot of thanks but i know that many people enjoy my work (i have some guys who will like almost any custom i make) and knowing that people make request keep me going because i know at least one guy will enjoy the custom other than me. Finally the number of "thanks" or "like" is not so important in the end...

  16. I try to leave a comment when I download a custom -- I always forget the thanks button. That said, the customs I'm making are for me first of all -- they're songs I really want to play. Sharing them with everyone else is icing on the cake. And a bit of an ego boost for me, if I'm honest. Yes, it'd be nice to have thanks. But I see the number of downloads as being the best compliment. So if your customs are popular, take it as a compliment!

  17. Do you have an instant messenger or some sort of program running? Maybe a program trying to update itself? Some programs will take control of Windows when they run -- I have an audio converter (LAME) that does this, it runs in a command window, and takes over everything while running. Nothing I can do about that one, I just walk away while it's running. But you can try changing preferences for other programs. Try running msconfig -- look in the startup tab, also look in the services tab: you should be able to find and deactivate the culprit. All it takes is a bit of malware phoning home. Also check your Rocksmith settings -- I believe there's a setting that makes the game exclusive when running, maybe that's not checked? The patch box is normal, since you're running the patch.

  19. While I can see a Thanks button on the forum post http://customsforge.com/topic/4158-its-all-over/ I can't see a Thanks button on the record page that contains the download link. http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/its-all-over-r2851 Since most people probably go via the CDLC Search to check new content then they won't see a Thanks button.

  20. Hey Blade! I can't speak for everyone, but I can speak for the staff here. We greatly appreciate everything that you and the other charters do. Truth is, without you guys we wouldn't be here at all. Overall providing things like we do, (you and us), is a thankless endeavor. It probably shouldn't be, but it is. I draw my thanks from the number of people who log on everyday knowing we provide them with a service that is uninterrupted and informative. For you, the thanks would be that people want to not only download your work, but they are enjoying it on a daily basis. Thank you for what you do! Spades

  22. Oh yeah wouldn't be a good idea to try to actually tune your bass 6 or 12 semitones up. You just set the tuning setting in eof and the toolkit higher and counter that by setting the tuning pitch setting lower.

  23. ---------- If you already meet the above things, please answer a few questions for us so we can review them and get you your shiny red name: Why do you want to be a moderator? This is a pretty cool place. I've been trying to learn bass for about 6 months now, and have come a long way using Rocksmith. Thanks to communities like this, I've come even further from being able to find music that fits my taste. I've discovered some new bands along the way, and gained a deep respect for 60s and 70s rock to boot! In short, I want to be a mod to get to work behind the scenes to make sure that everyone here has the same chance I did to learn their guitar of choice! What do you bring to the Customs Forge community that is unique to you? In a word, organization. I came here from Smithy's Anvil, and comparatively this place really has its feet planted in the ground. It had a huge userbase, great support from the devs, and above all, a clean interface and instruction set that anyone new to Rocksmith can pick up and understand. Cake or Pie? (this is important) Pie: Because I love fruit. How much time do you spend on the site daily? I currently try and come by every two days to check for new and updated DLCs, but would easily be able to come daily. Have you filled out your profile information on the site? I have now! Have you ever been a Moderator anywhere else before? Reddit's /r/Erie. Currently a mod there. Can you follow instructions? Can I? Yes. Will I follow blindly? Nope. You can expect me to do the basic work, and even go out on a limb and tackle the advanced issues, but I'm not a yes-man.

  25. If you already meet the above things, please answer a few questions for us so we can review them and get you your shiny red name: Why do you want to be a moderator? I would like to be apart of a community that is evolving and growing everyday, on top of me making songs and seeing people excited for a release makes me smile. I know its a huge responsibility, but the end result of being one of many Mods that gets to help make this site better is a win in its self. What do you bring to the Customs Forge community that is unique to you? Manly its the CDLC. Not just downloading it but making quality top notch tabs for other people to enjoy. I put a lot of my time in to the customs i make and I'm ready for that next step forward. Cake or Pie? (this is important) Well seeing as the cake is a lie, i'll go with pie :D How much time do you spend on the site daily? Roughly 2-4 hours, depending on if i get lost in the chat room. Have you filled out your profile information on the site? I'm pretty certain everything is filled out. Have you ever been a Moderator anywhere else before? Nope this would be my first time, and honestly my first time ever considering it. Can you follow instructions? I made it out of High School with no problems, so yes, yes i can :)

  28. I got a chance to play BandFuse and 2014 back to back and gave them both a serious try. (I still don't have 2014, I'm more happy with 2012, YMMV). I played it enough to get get 5 stars on a song, 100 note streak, 100% a song on medium, and tried to be open minded about it. My problem with BandFuse as compared to Rocksmith is that it emphasizes the picking hand instead of the fretting hand. Their notation is about the timing of things like bends, and the right strings to hit. The notation for the fret hand is possibly OK for people really into Tab, but I found it impossible to play something that I did not already know or understand. After a little while for example, a 1/3 notation on the top string is clearly a power chord, but when I was playing a new song, and I'd get a 2/4 on the A string, it would blow my mind. With Rocksmith by contrast, I can know practically nothing about the song, and still be able to get my fret hand in position, because it's showing me exactly where to be. This is why I say Rocksmith emphasizes the fret hand, and I think that's the right emphasis. At least for me, I have waaay more trouble with where I am on the neck, and what string, than I do with picking. So for me at least, I found BandFuse to be a nice novelty, but way to close to being a Rockband 4 with their awful notation. I even have that stupid plastic Mustang guitar, and could never get their notation, even after studying a song. Now for 2014 vs. 2012, for anyone who might be curious: I like 2012 better because it's more 'fun'. The emphasis is different. 2014 is a more serious tool, and more polished and definitely better at actually learning a song. But I'm a dilettante, and don't actually care about all that, I just want to play music and have fun and learn as I have fun. 2012 meets that goal better for me, because I really enjoy playing to that stupid animated crowd. Dunno why.
