Since I noticed a gigantic gap in how to make a proper DLC for Rocksmith 2014. I am going to be doing a video next weekend of how to make a DLC from scratch. Going to cover ever aspect of making one. From beginning to end. Hopefully it helps some people or improves the quality of DLCs that are being released. Will post it next weekend in the Help Thread. Hopefully I can get it sticky'd.

Wearing and Tearing *Important Notice* At some point midway through the Presence album (as I recall) I started using the "photo negatives" of the album art that you see above. This represents two things: 1) the CDLC uses the newly remastered audio, as this the album art that has been used for those commercial releases. 2) that the CDLC has been made to the best of my current abilities, regarding both audio fidelity and overall quality, and will likely not receive any future updates. In the coming weeks/months, I will be going through the catalog once more, in order to fix and improve a few things in some of the earlier Zeppelin CDLCs. Most of them were made over 2 years ago, and frankly, my standards for quality have improved quite a bit since then. There is no specific timeline for this, but as I sign off on each custom, I'll be placing a * symbol next to the song name in the above list. This symbol will indicate that the two qualities listed above are present in the CDLC. If you haven't already, you may want to make sure that you've added your favorite songs to your collection (the ignition search function) so that you're notified when updates are made.

At the rates things are going that is... I think this site (and the people who put it together of course) can take a lot of credit for this achievement.

No problem, I am as big a Maiden Fan as I am a Metallica and Ozzy/Black Sabbath fan. I am doing this songs because I want to learn how to play them ^^ I also intend to do, can I play with Madness? but these are further a bit down the road, got a ton of songs to do.

I agree with @@Soilman. Althought it's great when we have perfect customs, it's not mandatory for us to learn that song, and customs that doesn't have the perfect tone or notes design are still very useful for me to learn how to play them.

@@Capk I somewhat agree from where you are coming from, and if was getting paid for these customs or had more time i would perfect them 100%. As i am doing these alone with no help, and as rocksmith is meant as a way to learn guitar (not have it sound 100% correct) i feel i am still providing a very useful service. basically, i could not upload any songs for the next year or so and work on perfecting each old custom, or carry on as i am making customs so i have more variety to play. I see where you are coming from, but with minimal training and only myself to rely on, i think i have done quite well. I don't mind if the guitar doesn't sound 100% correct, atleast i can still learn the song for when i play it on a real amp. I also keep time signatures from gp tab, i know notes aren't always perfectly aligned but DDC still works perfect for me. if anyone wants to help me perfect my customs by improving tones, note layouts etc it would be great. haven't had anyone offer it yet so i will carry on as i am. If its a problem maybe i just dont upload my songs? I don't mind, i mainly make them for myself anyway.@@Capk

As I remember it the Kelly is a JK20. I said student but that may have been the performer series, I'm not entirely sure. It was my first guitar and it was a long time ago! The custom has a interesting story behind it. The Death Angel model was designed by Rob Casteveny from Death Angel. Its one of three artist designed CS only models (the Demon and the Roswell Star/Rhoads designed by Amir Derakh are the other two). And this particular Death Angel of one of only 4 Archtop Death Angels ever made. The other three was a small CS run sold to Drumcity Guitarland that had a trans black flame top and silver cross inlays. So the custom shop called me some time shortly after the guitar was done cause they had summer NAMM coming up and wanted to take it to the show as a custom exhibition model. I was thrilled and said they could. Well after about 4 months of not hearing anything I contacted them and turns out the guitar neck was broken in half during shipping and the neck had to be rebuilt. It took awhile but I was really happy to get it.. they messed up one small thing. The backside of the body was supposed to be gloss natural instead of green like the top. Its a minor thing, and it does set off the natural binding, but I think it would have looked cooler the way I had original designed it. That being said its by far the best playing guitar I've ever held. And I've held alot over the years. Any CS Jackson or Charvel pre Fender are some of the best guitars ever made. If you can find one, they made some limited run Charvel exotics. USA made that came from the custom shop. I think there was 5000 produced of each (koa, lacewood, mahogany) and those guitars are absolute beasts and can be found for well under a grand. There was a koa one here at the local guitar center but I didn't jump on it fast enough. It went for 650. And that one was Koa, easily the most valuable of the three. Even japanese charvels like the 750xl Archtop I have are among the nicest guitars you can find that are made outside the USA.

I agree with Liquidlizar a used guitar is the way to go for sure. If you're in the US, pawn shops are really good. I got a BC Rich Gunslinger Retro for $160. Those retail new for $350 at Samash / Guitar Center. Personally I've never been Impressed by an Ibanez. Out of the 25 or 30 so guitars I own none are Ibanez. However, I have learned over the years that buying a guitar is more of a hands-on process. You should head out to a music store and try as many in your price range as possible. See what you like the feel of. Then head to Craigslist or Ebay / Amazon and look for a deal on one. My advice is, don't buy a guitar with a Floyd Rose. They aren't meant to be tuned up and down like Rocksmith requires and just generally an all around pain in the ass for new guitar players. The Fender style bridges are less temperamental so they're OK. I like the $129 Squire Fat Strats as a starter. With a good setup they are really great for the money. All that said, Again I agree with Liquidzar, Your first guitar won't be the best. If you can find a friend to go with you that plays that would give you a leg up. Just play as many as possible in your price range and welcome to the never ending battle with your new guitar buying addiction. :D

Kasnitch, those are beautiful ESP's. I used to own an early 90's ESP M-2 Custom in Lemon yellow, best guitar I have put my hands on to date; I expect the newer ESP's are only an improvement. bought it used for 300 in '05, traded it for an 87' Ricky 4001. Took some pics this morning of my beautiful ladies. They are both 2011 ESP Standard Horizons, and are superb instruments. Axemusic.com here in Canada still has one of each of these in stock as of a couple days ago. The red FR model is about $2199 and the blue NT is about $1800 . Considering the 2014 models are made the same but with different headstocks, but cost $5000, I would think hmmmm.. wtf. These guitars are 95% as good as the PRS Studio I had, which cost $1400 more. The other 5% is made up by their own electronics and pickups, which are the best I've heard. Play feel is as good or better on the ESP guitars. Cheers all. I got it last march from Guitar Center after trading in my Epiphone Les Paul Studio which I slightly regret because of the build quality of the Ibanez but I still like it. The guitar on the bottom is my ESP LTD MH-1000FR deluxe. This I used for drop C and D standard. I got this off Ebay almost brand new fo $650, I'd been going after a guitar good for drop tuning, metal-ish songs. Only problem I have with it is the Floyd Rose bridge, I've broken the high e string 3 times already in the past 3 months I've owned the guitar.
