(updated Oct,2. 2019, Rod) In short: how: why: Cause the Championship is Good for You! now start playing! In longer: First the How: 1. Play whichever song is up for the competition in its current week on either score attack hard or Learn A Song. If playing on Learn A Song please ensure that all sections are at max difficulty. The easiest way to do this is to open up Riff Repeater while in the song and select all sections and max them to 100%. 2. Post a screenshot in the thread for the weekly championship that shows your ACCURACY. We do not look at the big yellow number we look for accuracy only. Score Attack is best for showing accuracy as it shows it to the nearest tenth. After post your score(s) you become participant. All very simple. How to take and post a screen shot: For steam users the easiest way to do this is to just press F12 at the screen you want to take the picture of. Steam offers its users 2gb of space to upload your pictures to so you can just take the picture through steam and upload it and and post the link on the forums. For Non Steam users: Press Print screen on the screen you want to take a picture of then open up Paint and paste the picture. You will then have to save this onto your computer (somewhere easy to find) and then upload it to a image hosting site and post the link. There are many of them out there so just run a search on google to find one. Now the why: 1. To have fun: This is the reason why myself and a majority of us play in the competition and it should be one of the main reasons why anyone wants to join. We are very laid back here and view all entrants to the competition as our peers. We want you all to enjoy yourself while playing in the competition. 2. To improve your skills: A little friendly competition is great and we love seeing people in each class try to beat each other as that shows that they are focusing on learning guitar and learning to play songs. However please keep this as clean as possible as we do not want to scare anyone away or cause upset feelings and many times reading a post can have a negative effect on a person if it is not written correctly. Please use smileys and other emoticons to emote what you are trying to say so that people know its friendly banter. 3. To meet and interact with others: Playing in the competition is a great way to meet new people and interact with them. We all started playing guitar because it was something we loved. Interacting with others who feel the same way is a great reason to play in the competition because it will motivate us to keep on. There were many times before i found the competitions that I got bored with the guitar and didn't see a reason to keep playing. Now the competition has helped me to want to keep playing and I love it for that. 4. To play new songs and genres: This competition is great because it offers us a chance to play songs we may have never thought we would play. Many times I found myself playing a song that I would never have listened to before because i just didn't know about it and realized that hey the song is great and I want to hear more of the band. This helps us to expand our interests and our knowledge. Feel free to add your reasons to this post and I will add it to the reasons listed here. I love this competition and want to see as many people getting enjoyment from it as possible. Part of my enjoyment is seeing people get better and better as the weeks progress. Seeing people move up from beginner to intermediate to masterclass is what this championship is all about. Guess what guys................i'm back :-P What is the easiest way to create my 100+ customs as pages on here, without manually 'submitting' each custom? Otherwise, I probably won't get time to manually do it which will be a real shame. Any of the devs have any ideas? For now I'm just giving all access to my Mega folder which I'm updating with more and more customs, but ideally would like to sort all my customs into the database so others can easily find what they want. Anyone have any thoughts on what would be the easiest way?

I did answer, and I am trying to point someone into the right direction so they can help him out.

I will ask one of the Dev's who will know, I don't want you to have to upload that many manually, it would be a very tendious job, i'm damn sure I can think of a way of doing it, but with not working on that part I don't know how they are working it to sort it for you myself. I've just left a message for some of the other Dev's hopefully one of them can upload them.

I'll have to see if I can find an mp3 I have at home of my favorite live version of Ripple. I have no idea what show it's from, unfortunately, as I randomly grabbed it back in the Napster days, but there's something about Jerry's phrasing and vocal inflection in this performance that I've always loved. That's amazing that Phil never played bass before joining the band, and impresses me even more. The way he plays you'd think he was born with a bass in hand. One of my few regrets is that I never got to see them live. I was only 15 when Jerry died so I had no chance to see them in their prime, but it still kinda bums me out. :-| sleepy

It's possible they maybe able to be inserted from the backend so you don't have to insert them all manually, however I don't deal with CDLC's so i'm not 100% sure, though no doubt when one of the other Dev's that do deal with it are on, they might be able to tell you better.

In line with the recent "Rescuing Customs" chat, I propose the following: Whenever someone uploads a custom, have them check a box that specifies whether they are willing to have others modify and re-upload their CDLC with either a link to the original post, or a blurb thanking the original author(s). You could set this to default on in an Account Setting, if people wish to do so for all of their custom work. I see this as an important piece to allow the distinction between people who are happy to open-source their work, and those that want their upload to be the final, definitive point. This way, we can have multiple people working on the same custom without worrying if the author would become upset. For example, it could encourage people who are working on something like a discography to separate tasks, and have one person transcribe the notes then pass on tones to a tone expert, and then on to a bass slapper, etc.

Maybe DDC caused it, but maybe not. You can unpack your song package and import the XML files into EOF to see what's actually in it. I'm not sure what's preventing you from pasting into a post, both of those methods work for me.

Copy and pasting text in posts on this forum works for me. As far as ntoes disappearing, the only obvious reason is that's how the game works if the chart has dynamic difficulties. I don't see how it would be possible for notes in question to be visible at slow speed but missing at full speed in riff repeater.

The Fire on the Mountain is the last show at the historic Winterland Arena on new years Eve 1978 before it was tore down. The whole show is on youtube. Check out this semi acoustic Cassidy from the Radio City Music Hall run in the end of October 1980. Phil comes out and joins them on bass. Sleepy mentioned the bass earlier. Phil Lesh is outstanding. He plays the bass like another lead. He never played bass before the dead. He was classically trained and played the trombone. jerry heard him and asked him to play bass in his band. There are all these stickers from the late 80s that say "Bush loves Phil 'cause Phil drops bombs".

If you want to improve, play Buckethead :) :) this way you can learn how to play better as well as enjoy great music :) (not only my opinion, but few friends too) You will find very fast parts as well as slow songs with many bends and other techniques too :) and in the rhythm parts you will learn nice chords too :) For very fast parts I use Riff Repeater and it works very well :) Just 1 year and 6 months ago I did not know how to play guitar and now thanks to Buckethead I learned a lot, I can play most of the songs in RS2014 with 80%-90% accuracy, sometimes close to 100% even :) For bass I get 95%-100% accuracy for most of the songs in RS2014. I even could not dream about it about 2 years ago when I started to think about playing guitar, I still can not believe that after so short time I could improve so much... Still much to learn, I am just starting the way :) Have to learn more chords as this is my main problem to be fast playing strange chords :)

Isn't there supposed to be a verify data integrity function in Steam? Would that help? Seems like this kind of info gets saved to the cloud too. I had Rocksmith complain because I'd removed a custom that I'd favorited in the game -- it didn't like that at all.
