  1. Tone Creation process for Rocksmith™ RS custom toolkit expands a lot, so now we able to import Tones directly from game, I'll show you how to use it. Rocksmith 2014 Requirements: Knowledge "how to create CDLC" (go Home if you don't, also read advanced Tutor for EOF)Nightly build of RSToolkit (Get) *Feature added since v2.5.0.0*Unpack Toolkit somewhere and run it, Now you ready to go. Main loop: Go to Rocksmith and make your custom tone (hope you know how to do that). (save it after all)Test your tone on WIP version of song (assign tones to keys 2-4) switch it in song.Open toolkit and click "Import" (on tones).Change format filter to All files (named as XBOX actually) (*.*)Go to you profile folder (in tone selector dialog) Win(32 bit)Steam: C:Program FilesSteamuserdataYOUR_USER_ID221680remoteSelect profile file (which ends on _prfldb).You're done. IMPORTANT! Change tone descriptor to correct tone type, cause its not imported from profile(there is no descriptors there) If you forget to do that - you will get wrong tone(i.e. Bass amp instead of guitar amp)! credit to http://rocksmithcustoms.wikispaces.com/ *works again* Tones Request thread. *just leechers there, sad :(*

  4. Wasn't too sure where to post these but here is as good a place as any. The first video here is a handy way to learn how to play your scales up and down the neck by combining the different boxes of each Pentatonic position to make one big box, or scale map: This second one is how to combine the Minor and Major Pentatonic Scales into one box shape for each position, and of course you can (and should!) combine this with the scale mapping idea above: Not too sure what you'd call the scale...Pentatonic Mijor perhaps..? Or maybe there's a proper name for it lol    Please feel free to add more to this thread that you've found useful.

  5. I know I am meant to learn these songs in the game but good old fashioned tablature is what I have to turn to when I really want to learn something with a lot of notes crammed into a short amount of time. I took the suggestions from people like me that prefer to use both tab and the game to learn a song, and started just going to youtube and pausing, then manually tabbing by hand what they are playing by watching the note highway. Biggest problem is that leaves a lot of room for error (especially when they play w/o strings inverted) so I was hoping it was possible to include a pdf. of the tablature used to created the custom or a link to the online tab that was used so we can print it off and use it as an additional supplement to learn these songs. A second thing I would really love to see is an agreed upon format for naming the files. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but I try to keep all mine in this format so I don't have duplicates and can easily check my folder to see what I have and what I still need. Band_Name_Song_Name_Version_p.psarc Would like to close by saying thanks to all the people that have put in so much time already to make this site and all these custom songs. There was so much available here that I actually bought the game again for my cpu and another copy for a buddy and his cpu. Now I just need to figure out how to import all my dl's I bought on xbox up here and I will have like 600+ songs  Thanks everyone. Shad

  6. A few years back I picked up a guitar magazine with an article by Steve Vai called "Freak Show Excess." It has several pages of intense excersizes covering all manner of guitar playing as well as training tips and insight from Vai himself. They cover a program that Vai believed would help make someone a much better player with practice of his key concepts. It might make an excellent base for a set of guitar training excersizes. I lack the skill and fluidity to play them myself, but if anyone would like them to start a project of their own, I can provide you with them. -k

  7. @@Helderdje The secret to the beginner section is to treat it like barre chords except your single note playing them. Its E5 into B5 for the intro then C5 and then D5

  8. Another Thing Beside Slowing Down to 70% 80%, Pause the riff repeater and play the memorized phrase you've learned and watch your fingers.play several times and then start the riff repeater again. That should help a lot.

  11. Bear in mind that I'm very new at this (just started today) but adding sections and phrases is pretty easy. The sections are pretty self-explanatory : they're the structure of the song, Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Solo, Bridge, Outro, etc. The phrases have to do with the Dynamic Difficulty. Each phrase has its own dynamic difficulty levels. So you can have a verse phrase, a chorus phrase, etc. and since they're usually very similar, they'll level up pretty much at the same time -- if you raise one to 100%, the others will follow. In EOF, you click on the Beat marker that starts whatever section you're creating -- start with the very first one, I imagine. Then Shift-S opens the dialogue that gives you various labeling options -- choose Intro for the first section, for example. At the bottom, there's a checkmark for adding the section as a phrase as well. This makes similar verses/choruses behave similiarly in the DD. If they're not exactly the same, or if one is more difficult than another, you wouldn't check the box for that section. If you don't see the labels, go to File -> Preferences and look for the little view section with the option to show Rocksmith sections + phrases. And that's all there is to it.

  12. This is the first I'm hearing about an "update option", but feel free to submit an enhancement request on Github if it's something you'd like to see added. The website does have versioning data available in JSON, but could be adapted to plain text or whatever works better for C#.

  13. Hello everyone! I wanted to say thanks to everyone who's supported us so far. First off I wanted to explain what your donations was used for. The negatives are what I've purchased. The websites domain for $15 and the IP.Board & IP.Download system for $225 I have $142.93 USD Left in paypal and I plan to let all users know where their money went. I will not pocket any of this money as it will be used for this website only. Edit: I've moved the transactions list to Google Spreadsheet. Please view it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zfCUmm0Wj8V1KW_Xrh8JWhV1Sio7H7F-OHeY4E09NAA/edit?usp=sharing Thank you SO much to everyone. Okay now, for the future of the website I have a few things in motion. 1) We will most likely use http://rscdlc.com/ for our DLC system. We will modify it to make it better. 2) We will use IP.Downloads for our file system. You can do EVERYTHING you dreamed it. Some of the features: - It counts every download - Searchable fields (Title, Artist, etc) - NOTIFICATIONS for file updates. This is a huge update I'm looking forward to. No longer have to deal with outdated CDLC. - Report broken file downloads to the CDLC creator & More! 3) We are actively working with PHP developers to upgrade to our new CDLC system. 4) We are looking into hiring a Skin designer to design a professional dark-themed type skin. (Possibly a white one too). Please note this will take some time but I'm hoping to get all of this in motion within the week. I'd like to have everything up and running soon so we can have an awesome community with awesome CDLC. I also want to give thanks for my wife, Ally who has been here since the morning helping me out with everything. I'm looking forward to working with everyone to create the ultimate CDLC website.

  15. Hi, folks. The latest hotfix (r1299) is in the first post. Changes are as follows: *Improved RS2 export to support sustain tech notes. *Fixed a crash that could occur when performing a chord name lookup on a fully string muted chord. *Updated the "Correct chord fingering" function to alter the regular notes instead of tech notes. *Disabled the ability to apply fret or finger definitions for tech notes, since they don't use those values. *Fixed a bug where tech view wasn't disabled when importing a Guitar Pro track, which would cause the import to malfunction. *Updated Guitar Pro import to create tech notes for any complex bends defined in the imported track. In an effort to enrage the community, I have gone back to SendSpace. But really, MediaFire wasn't working right in the current stable release of Firefox, and the download counter doesn't work so that's two strikes against it, I'll round up to three just because I already disliked it. Plans for hosting EOF on something besides SendSpace are in the works.

  16. This is all way more involved than what I was imagining. I was thinking of something more along the lines of a classifieds section where you can hook up with collaborators. "Lonely charter ISO like-minded tonesmith for fun and customs. I like 50's rock, 60's pop, 70's punk and long walks on the beach."

  18. I have and have had some excellent Chinese built guitars. They've definitely caught up to South Korea, and maybe even to Japan in terms of potential quality. BUT... I've only bought well-known brands -- in fact, my go-to guitar of the moment (Steinberger SS-2F) is a Chinese-built guitar and it's excellent, amazing player. And once you go headless, you can't go back again... But I also have a Hofner Verythin CT and a Washburn parlor acoustic, both made in China, and I recently sold a Guild acoustic, also Chinese, also a great guitar. It's not that I go looking for Chinese guitars, but that's where the market has shifted now. I can't justify spending the big bucks on a Western-built guitar, I'm just not that good of a guitar player. But I'd be really leery of buying a no-name Chinese guitar. These things can sell for next to nothing -- check it out here: http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=electric+guitar Resellers in the West buy these things in bulk, often slap their own names on them and pretend they're guitar makers. At least with the name brands, they have a set list of specifications and depending on the brand and model, they'll have some quality control as well.
