  1. Hey everyone!Sorry for the lack of updates, we've been working hard behind the scenes to make everything work. Today is officially 14 days (two weeks) since CustomsForge has launched. Here are some stats: We have 8,957 membersA total of 7,330 posts. Our total users online ever: 438 (YESTERDAY!) We have a database of over 1,000 CDLC's. The community has donated over $1,000 Thank you everyone for pulling together and making this community what it is. NEW updates to notice: You can now add your bass & guitar in your user profile Search is now local, and is updated immediately without delay. The website is faster and stable (that unfortunately cut some dev time out, as we had to work on that fulltime) We have a new tracker for issues: http://customsforge.com/tracker/ Steam profile. You profile now has a steam view so people can add you / track your games: http://customsforge.com/user/1-unleashed2k/ Here are some projects we are currently working on: Search Settings You will be able to set your own custom settings for search that will save with your username. Request System We're working on a new system for requests, unfortunately there is no ETA for this project yet. Dark themed skin I'm actually looking into some paid options to have the main theme reskinned black, ETA: This monthWe are working on a lot more behind the scenes but we can't offer complete details yet, still a lot of things in motion.Thank you once again for your support and we're working hard on resolving any issues with the website. EDIT:I've decided to remove the TEMP DLC (THE OLD AREA, NOT THE NEW ONE) area this friday. Please read more about it here: http://customsforge.com/topic/1883-temp-dlc-area-removal/

  5. Whoa, great minds -- totally didn't see this thread even though you got there first! And a pretty happy coincidence, because I got the bass part working first and wanted to add lead/rhythm guitar but can't test those because I don't have an electric guitar... Just today I started over from scratch and got guitar parts and the bass added, and I *think* I synced properly (sure the bass is OK), but to try to test the guitar parts I had to input an old acoustic guitar via microphone. Not ideal at all, and my guitar skills are much worse than bass. But anyway, I got far enough to discover that the lead part I put together hangs Rocksmith. My bass track works fine though. I dunno if you could add in my xml file for the bass and have it work -- my guess is that it would be out of sync unless you added the exact same amount of leading silence (I added 2 seconds). But, you could maybe unpack my .psarc and then just offset the first beat to match your file? I uploaded my newest/best version at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2GRHIrNcVrSdEE3YVVDam1IUzg/edit?usp=sharingThat has a tested (by me) bass track, known-to-be-bugged lead track (locks up when loading), and untested rhythm track. Also, vocals which I managed to put in OK but they show with some ~ characters because the program I used to generate the timed vocal track told me to put in some for when I wanted vowel repeats (like "in your he-e-ead" in the song). I should probably redo them since those display with the ~ which is a bit funky. Anyway, you are welcome to scavenge anything out of there by unpacking in the toolkit if you like, OR I can upload specific files. Just out of curiosity, did you use/import a Guitar Pro tab from UltimateGuitar? Version 7 there?

  6. I have a transcribe, can analyze those notes and say what it is, Will update this post :) lol, Is simply next tremolo part,10-10-12-12-12 on yellow(but you should transpose that to fret range 7-10 its easy to maintain on this tuning working this rule every 5 fret is next string in open state, every 7 is a 2 of next string or 12 of previous and so on, you know what you need to do ) http://i.imgur.com/U1uWyHT.png

  7. I use the guts of dragons i slay to create bass strings that sound deeper than the halls of Valhalla and the hair of fair maidens i have shagged for my electric guitar strings (altho so far i can only manage 1 single string for a ukulele , i need to get more fit). But other than that Ernie Ball ;).

  9. As much as I'm not a Metallica fan I do have to agree that that combination of skills is exceptional.

  11. Trying to find the balance between encouraging new people, and keep the rabble from destroying the community is tricky. Experience shows (:-) that allowing just anyone to vote on songs just leads to the usual internet anarchy and low signal-to-noise ratio. With that in mind, I have two suggestions worth considering. 1) Allow only upvotes, not downvotes. Like FaceBook "Like". Only people motivated to upvote will take the time to do so, and you'll get a natural sifting of the ones that people actually think are worthwhile. You would still get some over-attention to popular songs, but it seems like within a specific genre you'd get a reasonable assessment. This would not encourage or reward people who contribute, but would be simple to implement and still be helpful. 2) Only allow ratings by people with "cred". If you've posted a custom song, you suddenly have infinite cred. You've already done all the work, you understand how hard it is, and you have made a solid contribution to the community. You can vote on any song because you are the community. If someone like Robotmom, or Fabianosan say a song is good, that's all I need to know. If you don't have that kind of skill, maybe you help the community in other ways, like making posts. Posting suggestions or feedback, or anything helps build community. Maybe you get one vote for every five posts or something. If you get "thanks" you get 3 votes. Something like that, because you helped someone enough to get thanks. If you don't contribute anything to community, you don't get to vote. You can download and lurk because you are not a problem, but you don't have enough "cred" to be allowed to vote.

  12. Thanks for coming here to let us know the solution. If you or someone else has the same problem you can speed up the hunt for the bad song by doing a binary search instead of a linear one. I did this on some songs that would crash RS before. Technique: Pull half of the songs out of your folder, so only half load. If it now works, you know the bad one is the half you just pulled. If it doesn't work, you know the bad one is still in the current list. Put in or keep only the known bad half. Now cut that half in half so you just have 1/4 the original number. If it works, you know that the bad one is the 1/4 you just pulled. If it doesn't work, you know it's in the 1/4 that is still live. You see how it goes, just keep halving the songs as you narrow it down. If you have 1000 songs, this will allow you find the bad one in 10 tries max.

  17. I used to play the bass around 20 or so years ago but had to sell them both due to finances  I used to mess around with an acoustic too but that had to go too. I then discovered Rocksmith and decided to learn right from the start so that I didn't have bad habits. Started with Rhythm, got bored and switched to Lead lol  I bought myself a cheap entry level Floyd Rose guitar from eBay for 80 quid including delivery, it's brand new except it's been sitting in a distribution warehouse so needed a good clean and new strings etc. Here's a pic of it sitting next to Georgie Porgie, my puddy tat: http://i.imgur.com/QnsKUpb.jpg Before I got that I was playing a DIY strat guitar kit and a DIY SG guitar kit which were as cheap as chips, 50-odd and 60-odd quid respectively and both sound pants lol :-P

  18. I play rythm, bass and lead. Usually in that order. When I am at home then I play the bass part on a real bass (Peavey Zodiac or Schechter Stiletto). But when I am on travel (like today) I have only my Telecaster in the hotel room.
