  1. It's really late and I have to work in the morning. I'll be back tomorrow! Seriously you guys are the best. I am having more fun playing guitar than ever before! Rock on!!! :-P Seeing this website develop and rise from the ashes of Smithy has just really inspired me to tell you all how great you are. We got this ball rolling so fast and I am just so unbelievably grateful for everyone that was a part of that. This is a practice track for the 12 Bar Blues and it's variations as described in it's Wikipedia page in the keys of C, E, and G. The backing track is a drum-only loop of the 12 Bar Blues example found here. There is a number of sections each representing a variation. in order they are: [*]Standard [*]Shuffle [*]Quick Change [*]Sevenths [*]Basic Jazz Blues Progression [*]Bebop [*]Minor (with 7ths) Standard, Shuffle, and Quick Change are easy and play quite nice together (and so does Sevenths.) Sevenths, and Minor are a little more challenging. Jazz and Bebop are full of chords most other styles of music never use and are full of unusual chords... some you don't even play as chord because they sound horrible, you play them as arpeggios. Each section has 3 phrases each 4 measures (bars) long. So every section is a self-contained 12 Bar Blues progression on it's own, and they mostly play nice going one into the other. The guitar is all chords, 1 every measure or change. You can play anything you want in between: keep strumming, tiny little fills, mix and match. The bass is just the tonic but with a hand-shape (like an arpeggio) for the current chord at every measure or change. Same deal as the guitar just hit your designated note at the right time all the in-between are up for grabs. If you know a little music theory you will notice C, E, G for the C Major chord. That's to say if C is the Root/Tonic, E is III, and G is V. As long as you keep C as the overall tone you don't have to play all sections in the same difficulty. For example you play the first 4 sections as C, C, G, C making it a simple AABA type song. While testing I found that I felt into trance mode and stop paying attention so I threw in different hand positions to try and keep it more interesting. Bassist don't have that in E or G, as I got tired of looking up different fingerings. Alright, I would like feed-back of what works and what doesn't as far as a practice track goes. Rhythm: Open Chords (C, Am, G, F) 1st position.Lead: Power Chords (C5, A5, G5, F5) all over the low-E string for a heavier sounds.Bass: Single notes over the low 3 strings 1st position. The track is 12 bars each its own 2 independent section without counting the lead-in silence and the out. Well 12 in 4/4 time, you can also think of them as 24 in 2/4... I had to do it this way or there would be over 256 levels of difficulty. Each section has 20 difficulties each with a completely different rhythm pattern: 1 & 2 &0:1: *2: *3: *4: *5: * *6: * *7: * *8: * *9: * *10: * *11: * * *12: * * *13: * * *14: * * *15: * * * *16: * * * 1/617: *** 1/1218: *** 1/1219: *** *** 1/12That should be enough to let you practice almost any rhythm. Using this page as reference we some example strums patterns using 4 sections: #1 15 15 15 15#2 6 6 6 13#3 6 13 6 13#4 13 13 13 13#5 6 14 13 14#6 1 7 11 13#7 13 13 13 13 with only the bass strings on the 1st beat of each#8 6 15 6 15 only bass strings on the 1st beat of the 6s#9 6 13 6 13 only bass strings on both beats of the 6sBasically it is mix and match to form the patterns you want.Needless to say you want Riff Repeater to NOT level your sections up automatically if you want specific patterns, BUT it is fun to get constantly changing patterns too so that's another way to play.   5. I've started working on Zombie, I'm surprised this haven't been made yet, a classic that's both very easy and fun to play. My mighty PC powers are a bit lacking, there's still a little way to go before I've wrestled a playable version out of the editor. Lead and rythm are both nearly complete, I'm also thinking about melting some lead parts together with rythm to keep it more interresting. ---edit--- It's nearly complete, I only need to add custom tones which will be done as soon as I'm back at my own PC sometime later today.   6. Hello everyone! I wanted to say thanks to everyone who's supported us so far. First off I wanted to explain what your donations was used for. The negatives are what I've purchased. The websites domain for $15 and the IP.Board & IP.Download system for $225 I have $142.93 USD Left in paypal and I plan to let all users know where their money went. Some of the features: - It counts every download - Searchable fields (Title, Artist, etc) - NOTIFICATIONS for file updates. This is a huge update I'm looking forward to. No longer have to deal with outdated CDLC. - Report broken file downloads to the CDLC creator & More! 3) We are actively working with PHP developers to upgrade to our new CDLC system. 4) We are looking into hiring a Skin designer to design a professional dark-themed type skin. (Possibly a white one too). Please note this will take some time but I'm hoping to get all of this in motion within the week. I'd like to have everything up and running soon so we can have an awesome community with awesome CDLC. I also want to give thanks for my wife, Ally who has been here since the morning helping me out with everything. I'm looking forward to working with everyone to create the ultimate CDLC website.
