Have scoured the internet and troubleshooted a variety of ways but can't get it to a playable state.

I'm using the RTC cable directly to my laptop's USB port. I've tried both ports and there was no difference. Using my laptop's built-in speakers. Also tried 3.5mm out to headphones and no difference either.

Both RTC and speaker sound settings are set to 16bit, 48kHz. Exclusive mode and hardware acceleration on (wouldn't play any sound without it) for speakers. Enable audio enhancements turned off for both. Speakers using Realtek driver.

Latency buffer of 2 and max output of 320 was the lowest I could get them without any crackling. Does anybody have any ideas? Is this a combination of Windows 11, USB 3.0 ports, or just my motherboard and sound card? What can I do moving forward to get it in a playable state? Is an audio interface my next option and how can I be sure that would even work with my setup?

Clean install of RS14 (set to previous patch version so CDLC will work), set CDL path in GUI, refreshed app ID in GUI, redownloaded the D3DX9 from CustomsForge, and restarted my PC.

Now when I try to play any CDLC, I can pick the song in my library, but then it just doesn't load.
Screenshot is what happens.

Looking for any ideas, Thanks.

I am also a Sr. Security Architect.  Starting on Feb 17, 2025 I started blocking malware attempts via your web page that are being sourced from kappa.lol - IP address 172.67.213.73 - I get the breach attempt every-time I refresh the search engine page.  I just assumed you would be on top and take care of it.  So I just informing you in case you had not noticed yet.  It could be a false positive, but I error on the side of caution and block first.

I'm trying to get the latest .dll file.  Google drive says I can't have it because it violates their terms of service.

 

When I try download RS2014-CDLC-Installer (Dated 23 November 2023) windows defender has a hissy fit with the usual "unsafe" complaint.

Even after I override the initial complaint then Windows defender again says NO - virus detected, and won't let me force the download.

Is there something we should know?
