In Topic: Rocksmith stops and "rewinds" in the middle of the song. How to fix t...

Facing similar problems right now. But heres some info about the setup. Think its more related to poor/high dpc latency. Currently trying to setup rocksmith2014 over Virtio+Gpu passthrough with usb 3.0 pcie card passed through to windows quest. Which i have hub plugged with usb-soundcard and realtone cable example.

So far managed to improve the performance from sound stuttering/crackling junk to almost playable hardware. Latency was dropped huge while added cpuisolation for 4 cores and 4 threads via grub.

And only problem is this instant rewind loop which can happen pretty much anytime. Might be related that soundcard/hardware buffer has some problems. I managed to release the problem sometimes just by alt tabbin out and back to game. Or it actually will settle sometimes of its own.

Case anyone interested my VM/gaming setup is running currently. Arch linux + X370 Prime Pro + AMD Ryzen 1700 + rx480 4gb + 750gtx + 16gb ddr4 3000mhz and several ssd:s.

Also using/testing Looking-Glass project which you should check out totally if interested playing windows games via vm almost next to native speed with GPU Passthrough inside window (only dummy hdmi plug required)
