My cdlc is no longer being recognized my RS 2014. I had it all working for over a year and now I reformatted and reinstalled exactly the same way but it didn't work. I am using D3DX9_42 and running through RS2014_patcher. Am I using out of date software? When I start up I simply don't see any of my CDLC. I tried deleting everything and starting over but it didn't work. Any help is apprecaited.

I don't know what this "RS_Patcher" is, but just so you know.  Its not allowed to talk about piracy here.

most likely you need to get the official DLC Cherub Rock.

Nope, I have bougth RS2014 through steam, including cherub rock. Like I said, it had been working for a long time until a recent reformatting

The page you linked even mentioned the Rocksmith2014_patcher thing I was talking about too... not sure why you assumed I was pirating

I was able to solve this problem by reinstalling steam and rocksmith, and running STEAM in admin mode with the second of the D3DX9_42.dll files in my RS root folder without the rocksmith_patcher file.

Ubisoft customer support was absolutely useless for me though, but I am glad to have it solved

Of course customer support was useless. Ubisoft does not provide customs. They know it exists and they tolerate it. I just installed RS 2014 on my laptop and copied the Dx 9 file from my desktop to here and poof, no issues. I also copied my entire DLC folder and then told it no as far as an overwrite on existing files and BOOM, all of my cdlc is good AND my progress on said cdlc was saved.
