well, just figured out the problem. I downloaded 5 songs originally. None of the songs would play. I downloaded about 20 more songs and I now have about 8 songs that will play. Is cdlc really that hit or miss?

Yes, I did read the article over and over. I also read a lot of different problems that other ppl were having and none of the simple fixes worked for me. I beat the forums to death before I made a post.

just restored my pc to default settings and tried to open rs through steam and it said I didn't have an app to open it. I think I may have to call a computer expert and pay $100 to get this thing figured out:(

I have been playing rs2014 for a while on my ps4. I just bought the steam key and downloaded it to my pc. I also bought the cherub rock dlc. I have watched the video from stellar firefly about 100 times and I still cannot seem to get the cdlc or the dlc to work. Im not sure what I am doing wrong. Im not sure which setting to use to open the dlc or cdlc with. I tried using steam, rs, mediaplayer and about every other option. At one point it displayed the dlc (cherub rock) in rs, but it doesn't anymore. Once I go to my files and go x86-steam-steamapps-rocksmith2014-dlc and open dlc, I can see the cdlc that I downloaded there but I cannot seem to get it to work. It keeps telling me to make sure steam is running. How do I know if steam is running? I have put in about 10-12 hours so far trying to figure this out and I just cant. Any help/advice would be appreciated. BTW, in case you haven't noticed, I know absolutely zilch about pc's. I just love to play the guitar
