  1. CDLC Creators... Here's a list of great songs I'd love to see added here... especially bass versions. SQUEEZE - Goodbye Girl PAUL MCCARTNEY - Beautiful Night // Great Day // Ballroom Dancing // 1985 BILLY JOEL - Downeaster Alexis BILLY BRAGG - Great Leap Forward INDIGO GIRLS - Hammer and a Nail // World Falls BRUCE COCKBURN - If I Had a Rocket Launcher TIMBUK 3 - Hair Styles and Attitudes // Facts About Cats // Future's So Bright WARREN ZEVON - The Envoy // Johnny Strikes Up the Band LOWEN & NAVARRO - Somewhere Far Away STING - We Work the Black Seams Together THE CALL - Everywhere I Go // Let the Day Begin // I Still Believe // Everywhere I Go JOHNNY CASH - The Man in Black R.E.M. - Catapult // West of the Fields
  2. As I've grown more accomplished, I've come to notice that some transcriptions make choices in note placement that aren't as simply as they could be. An example would be playing an A on the fifth fret of the E string... instead of simply using an open A where it would make an easier transition. Obviously, transcriptions originate with someone hearing or picking out the notes, but some bass lines seem to jump all over the place instead of staying closely packed together. When learning a new song, I regularly find myself altering the note choice to simplify things. Do any of you do the same thing?
  3. With Paul McCartney suddenly everywhere... there are a number of songs of his that I'd love to play (bass). Wanderlust - Tug of War Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five - Band on the Run Coming Up - McCartney II My Brave Face - Flowers in the Dirt Figure of Eight - Flowers in the Dust From a Love to a Friend - Driving Rain Great Day - Flaming Pie The Song We Were Singing - Flaming Pie Put It There - Flowers in the Dirt Biker Like and Icon - Off the Ground Fine Line - Chaos and Creation in the Backyard The World Tonight - Flaming Pie Young Boy - Flaming Pie JamesPrestonUK, I summon thee!
  4. Is there an easy way to correct things like incorrect titles and lyrics, or more importantly fix notes? I'm a bassist, and I often find basslines in CDLC that have notes that are placed in odd of awkward places. For example, E notes on the A string that should really be on the second fret of the D string. Or D notes on the tenth fret of the E string that for simplicity should be played on an open D string. I'm pretty sure whoever put the CDLC together (and thanks to all of you) probably doesn't play bass and so might not notice. I usually just play the songs the easier way, but it would be really nice if there was a quick and dirty way of fixing those kind of things. Thanks for any guidance you might have...
