#279927 How can i make a good tone with a digital amp?

Posted by RedCrowBleeding on 09 April 2018 - 12:22 PM

firstly play some music through (e.g. plug your phone in) it for half a dozen hours or more with cushion or something in front of the speaker (to bed the speaker in)

get the amp up off the floor (the tone changes dramatically depending on height and placement in a room)

is it open back? if so you need to have play with the distance from a wall or just completely open.

typically, the best tones can be found via

adjusting each dial to point where it dips in an out (the sweet spot) sonically (on tone dials & gain dial) - that'll give you a basic clean to break up to be adjusted by your guitar volume/tone dials

make note of your settings then tweak from there, to each type of tone you want

again take notes

of the best settings.

that's my method, but I could be completely wrong.

#267099 Best sites recommendations for accurate tabs

Posted by RedCrowBleeding on 27 October 2017 - 01:31 PM

Could we get a sticky thread for:

Best sites recommendations for accurate tabs

All recommendations welcomed.
(I've sunk to having to convert charted/scored music to tab: whilst trying to find a decent version of 'Damn I wish I was your lover').

Can I recommend an instant Ban on anyone who mentions 'ultimate guitar'

EDIT: So far we have;

ultimate guitar(good luck finding anything accuarate here)
Alt - source someone who creates tabs,
(note if your in doubt about the accuracy always check a few live and videos, particularly live studio videos).

#233507 Still feeling like a beginner on Rocksmith?

Posted by RedCrowBleeding on 16 October 2016 - 08:35 AM

I'm gonna throw this in here
One of the best aspects of RS is forces the beginner to explore the entire fret board
And learn to use barred chords
Which alot of beginners and intermediate players never get around to

Also playing full song arrangements rather than dumbed down beginner versions
Gives the RS player a fuller understanding of why scales are useful

#231241 Is Rocksmith remastered going to break cdlc?

Round of applause
Very very impressive

#230668 Faith loss in guitar playing

Posted by RedCrowBleeding on 01 October 2016 - 11:37 AM

Good stuff, quit away, the less players there are the better I sound in comparison to the remaining few.

Don't forget to make sure sell your stuff to someone else who is likely to quit quickly.

#193983 Any word or rumblings on the next version of Rocksmith?

Posted by RedCrowBleeding on 02 January 2016 - 03:38 PM

I appreciate that everyone should appreciate various tunings
After all, all guitarist have to go through their drop d phase

But on current version of RS
I've resorted to nvidia shadow play recording compressed via handbrake
To just load up and practice

I've ordered a pitch shift pedal
But for songs like IRIS a pitch shift will only get you so far

#193735 Any word or rumblings on the next version of Rocksmith?

Oh I forgot to mention
The option to skip tuning would be warmly welcomed.

#193608 Any word or rumblings on the next version of Rocksmith?

Proposing strumming patterns would be cool.

Don't get me started on that subject

it's sorely missed from both RS & RS2014

RS leaning's towards everyone playing like lead guitarists, is frankly odd

Things like '3 little birds' etc. strumming methods should be included in the lesson sections

and during song practice there is no excuse not to include a on screen legend of the correct strumming pattern

hopefully the new RS will break away from the standard guitar hero presentation and focus more on being a tutor

(i appreciate that  RS was pain to remain focused on compared to RS2014, but there is huge chunk of screen on the upper right that begging for the inclusion of the legend).
