  1. I would agree the content here is not inherently user friendly. You can't just download songs and play them. You have to use the song manager tool to repair everything first, to fix most of the serious problems. You will want to figure out how to use the song manager to edit the song and tone volume levels, because they are all over the place and it is a pain opening the mixer in game for every song. You pretty much have to be a good enough guitarist to play the songs at 100%, because few of the songs have had serious effort put into setting up the dynamic difficulty. Which is understandable. The people charting songs on their own time, don't want to spend a bunch of time setting up the DD, when they could be charting a new song. There are probably things that could be done if the community here wanted to make things easier for more users. But, I doubt the community wants to. The way it is now, custom songs are not a comparable alternative to official songs for most people. If they were, Ubisoft would do more to prevent people from using custom songs. Nobody here wants that to happen.
  2. What concerns me the most of the state and future of Rocksmith is looking at the Global Achievement stats on Steam. 26.3% of Rocksmith 2014 players (ie people who own the game) have played 'Learn a song' for 10 hours. 14.4% have played 'Learn a song' for 25 hours. Anyone that has played Rocksmith less than 25 hours, is probably not buying much DLC. If someone has played Rocksmith less than 25 hours, it means they tried it (because they liked the idea of guitar hero with a real guitar, or whatever) and gave up on it. That means 85% of the people that have bought Rocksmith 2014 have a low probability of buying a new version of Rocksmith (at least until they can pick it up during a Steam sale for 75%off), because now those people have tried guitar hero with a real guitar, found out playing a real guitar is hard, and are not interested in buying another game that requires them to play a real guitar. Really, all I want is for Ubisoft to continue providing support to keep Rocksmith 2014 compatible with Windows. I'm pissed off enough that Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7.
  3. I think a distinction between underrated and underappreciated is needed. I wouldn't call Nightwish underrated, they have an excellent reputation and anyone that has seen or heard them perform recognizes they are very good. (Look at all the youtube videos of people reacting to Nightwish) So, it's more that their style of music isn't what a lot of people like to listen to (notably in the US) , rather than people thinking Nightwish sucks. I would say AC/DC is underrated, even though they are extremely popular, because their playing has always been criticized for being simple and not being very good - even though playing their songs CORRECTLY so they sound right, is quite hard. How many novice guitar players choose AC/DC songs to learn specifically because they think they are easy? NIghtwish is HUGE in Scandinavia, and Within Temptation is also a well known band here. Yeah but I wish these bands would be well known in America. I honestly believe these bands could sell out 10,000 seat arenas over here but they end up playing in small venues.
  4. Not requesting anything new. But would be nice to see some of the older Metallica CDLC updated to include dynamic difficulty, like Until it Sleeps. Also, would be nice if someone could adopt all the Nightwish CDLC that was done originally by SmellyOrc, that is all now broken and crashes to desktop. I know that there are tools available for users to fix old CDLC themselves, but doing something like that is above my computer ability level.
