GP7 (.gp) Format research

20 July 2018 - 07:35 AM

So i wanted to dig a bit into gp format to see how far the research into the latest format have gone and i found some very interesting information and i would love to get some feedback around what i dig up so far.

Here is all i could find regarding the structure of the internal files for the gp format.

What surprised me the most is that nothing seems to be really hidden behind anything weird and i was easily able to read and compare what i see in GP7 and what was in the score.gpif which seems to holds all the information needed.

There's still some amount of information to dig up which shouldn't be too hard after i make a proper simple file to see if everything does work as i think it should.

Export inconsistency with linknext regarding notehead

11 May 2018 - 07:33 AM

The issue is relatively simple.

Here is the riff in EOF :

Now here is result in RS at two different point in the song (the riff was copy/paste in EOF to make sure i didn't missed anything)

Expected version (all notehead are displayed properly) :

Unexpected version (notehead on the D strings doesn't appear) :

I have a very similar kind of riff :

Which always display as expected :

Here is the corresponding xml and the associated EOF project :

DLL update and RS update

01 May 2018 - 04:11 PM

The dll has been updated for this new update and we also took action to make sure it wouldn't break on any futur update made to the game but it's not a 100% guarantee.

The updated dll can be found here : http://customsforge....dlcs-in-rs2014/
And will be available via CFSM too.

Regarding the issue with the update outside of CDLC, this was not an update that was ready to be shipped to the public and was published due to internal mistake in the studio. Any major issue that came with it aren't due to a lack of QA or something they had intent to create on a released version. We are still waiting on further information from Ubisoft regarding what will happen but this update will likely be revert. The dll should still work once it's pulled back.

Thanks everyone for your understanding and patience with this issue.
