  1. This is just awesome work, and so quickly on such a technical issue. Great job! I'm working through my DLC at the moment, but anything that fails I am removing from my Rocksmith CDLC library. This has been a great way to clear out some old relics which never worked properly ;) I am wondering if there are any plans to update the Forge search to indicate if DLC has been updated so that it is remastered compatible? Might make it easier to identify the problem songs and then people can contact the author collectively or work on updates to existing CDLC. I am hoping going forwards that this may actually end up improving the quality of CDLC as it does force creation of proper tone banks. Maybe reduce the "song loads, just share it" mentality.
  2. Is this live yet? Does it affect CDLC? Anyone? Nevermind saw October date release. Damn Riff Repeater and their click bait headlines...
  3. I clicked in here hoping that the old Customs Forge Search was being resurrected because I was very happy with how it worked. I just can't get past the colors and the font choice for Ignition, it's barely readable. Please if possible bring back a black text, white background with a readable web font like Open Sans, Arial or Futura.
  4. It's interesting because I haven't heard of any PC specific lag problems..though I know the xbox one version is broken lag wise. I've never had a problem either with my old Phenom X2 system or my recent upgrade. I think running an older GPU with the settings wound up is going to cause a lot of visual lag. If you go into the settings menu of Rockmith under the latency adjustment there is a target animation which helps you measure the lag. You want to get it so you hear the sound as it hits the target. This is different to a latency problem which is a delay between strumming the guitar and the game processing the result. The problem with latency is audio lag which is a problem if you are strumming your guitar and your speakers/headphones aren't playing the sound immediately. This is unlike guitar hero where it doesn't matter so much as you are pressing plastic buttons, in Rocksmith if you don't hear sound immediately after plucking a string it's going to be a frustrating experience.
  5. I assume you are talking about specific to Rocksmith? Really any mid/high end motherboard should have a good enough soundcard on it already. The specs CPU wise for Rocksmith are pretty low, but an Intel i5 CPU would be good if you can afford it. If you want to go AMD and are happy to invest in a decent case with good airflow and aftermarket cooling, an FX8320 can't be beat for price (will run anything fine). I'm running this in my PC and it does run hot but I have a full size tower and some aftermarket fans and HSF attached to the CPU (depends on where you live, my computer rooms gets as hot as 35 degrees in summer so I need decent cooling). 4GB ram is the minimum, I would recommend at least 8GB as it that is the sweet spot and ram is cheap. On a PC latency for Rocksmith isn't really an issue, only if you are using HDMI and hooking that up to an amplifier/speakers. Just plug speakers/headphones into the speaker out on the motherboard and you should be good to go. Graphics card is an issue though, I find that if you have a lot of custom DLC installed you need a good graphics card to load all the textures for the artwork into ram. I'm using a R7 290, used to have a HD7950 which was also perfectly fine. Both of these cards are pretty expensive, I would probably recommend an Nvidia card instead like the 750Ti would be the minimum cheap option or any newer maxwell based Nvidia card. So cheapest option: Amd FX 8350Asus motherboard (SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 or ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+)4GB DRR3 RamAny HarddriveNvidia 750tiGood Case and cooling (would need at least 400w PSU)If you want to play with price/performance I recommend logical increments (can help you source parts too): http://www.logicalincrements.com/ Rocksmith emulates instruments and although it does a good enough job mostly, it's not going to be 100% accurate compared to a real guitar, and some effects are going to be noticeably lacking on some songs. If you have high quality audio equipment you want to use with the PC you may want to look into a USB soundcard like the Fiio E17. I have read that some Rocksmith users have this setup and love the audio quality, but many aren't going to hear the difference. Of course if your question is more general to PCs and audio quality in general I would say get a USB soundcard, and if you are interested in midi input and recording from your Guitar look into some of the m-audio stuff (expensive but people love it). There are cheaper mobile iPad/iPhone options for this sort of things like the iRig HD. Lastly headphones are the best way (IMHO) to enjoy Rocksmith. I thoroughly love my Takastar Hi2050 headphones they are dirt cheap and sound as good as my other $250 headphones, but are far more comfortable. Perfect for a budget PC.
  6. This happens with Avast, I added it to their database as a false positive and disabled my AV.. then the update worked fine.
  7. Well lately my 3yr old son has expressed a burning interest in guitar, I already bought him a Uke but he has figured out its a different instrument and he has tried to hold my guitar a few times. I think Santa might have to work something out..
  8. I am thinking the problem was because I updated to a newer version of the toolkit and EOF as the original song was quite old. In the end I just moved on and haven't seen the problem again with my customs. Then of course someone covered the same song so the problem I guess is closed ..
  9. Its a hundred times fast in Ultrastar Creator, Just grab lyrics play song tap each word and then add to EOF. If you practice a little it's easy to get perfect song lyrics, then little changes are needed.
  10. As a beginner it would have made life a lot easier if someone had explained how the anchor tool works in EOF. I think you should also add the sonic visualizer method to your tutorial: http://customsforge.com/topic/2393-how-to-get-beat-map/?hl=sonic For any song where there isn't a strict metronome beat throughout the song (ala any song from 90s or earlier) it is the only sane way to get a guitar pro tab to line up with the song without hours of painstaking work. I would also recommend that a user starts with the bass track as it's easier to line up and usually travels the length of a song in a repetitive manner that's easier to anchor with a song. Inside EOF there is a tutorial under the Help menu which covers a lot of this ground. I would recommend that anyone new to EOF read that tutorial first. Also I'm trying to add multiple tones to a track, it would be great if this could be added to your tutorial.
  11. I am having an odd issue with a song which has a lot of chord strumming. The first chord fingerings, chord name and notes are shown and then every chord the same after that is ghosted. I don't know if "ghosted" is the right term, basically where the same chord is repeated and so Rocksmith only shows the first chord and then has transparent rectangles to indicate repeated strums. The problem I have is that the ghost strums continue for the rest of the song! How does one control whether a ghost chord or the actual notes and fingerings are displayed? The song is already in sections but that doesn't seem to have any impact. This is an old EOF file that I am updating, I am wondering if something broke somewhere or that is introduced behavior with either EOF or the Rocksmith toolkit. THANKS!
  12. I'm sure some of you already heard this but I was still quite blown away buy this story of a 5 year old who is playing at his parents pub after 12 months learning to play guitar through Rocksmith. http://www.news.com.au/technology/gaming/fiveyearold-becomes-guitar-hero-after-playing-video-game-rocksmith/story-fnjwmfre-1226885284406
  13. Like the red message says you need to refresh your browser (shift + F5). I just cleared my browser cache and that fixed it too.
