What is the logic of not disabling ODLC but allowing to disable CDLC?

SongManager has song editing features that if ODLC were selectable would violate Site Rule #4.  You can enable/disable ODLC in  Setlist Manager which does not have these editing features.

I understand the Piracy issue. Dont understand why CFSM doesnt allow to Disable ODLC from Song Manager.

If it was because of Rule 4, it shouldnt be allowed in Setlist Manager either.

Setlist Manager offers other functionality. Might as well delete or rename the files manually.

I use CFSM to make managing my Song Library easier.

Site Rule #4 covers more than just piracy.  It also addresses modifications to ODLC.  CFSM Song Manager can be used to enabled, disabled, backup, delete, repair, edit, modify and tag CDLC.  To keep things simple, Song Manager simply did not allow any changes to ODLC.

I will see what I can do about opening up CFSM to selectively allow ODLC to be enabled, disabled, backed up, and deleted as these activities do not seem to violate Site Rule #4.

ODLC repairing, editing, modification, or tagging is not supported or condoned by CF, or the CFSM developers.

I agree with this.

My point is that if I buy a Song Pack, it has songs I like and songs I dont like. I want to be able to Disable some ODLC from CFSM.

Why is it not possible to Disable or Select All/None ODLC?

I want to disable some ODLC so RS doesnt have to load as many files.

1.4.6.2

Try latest beta version.  You can enable/disable ODLC from Song Manger now.  Be sure to read the tooltip popups.

I cannot disable ODLC in songmanager. It tells me go into setlist manager to disable it. When I select RS! compatibility record is does not load the songs just leaves the page blank. Am I missing something? The other record choices do populate the page correctly. I have the current beta (v1.4.7.1 - PC BETA VERSION)

scoobydoo1959: I could for some but not others.

"RS1 Compatiblity Songs can not be disabled individually."

Also,

I have an artist I want to Disable all songs for. Since I couldnt disable ODLC before, I had disabled CDLC and had left ODLC enabled. Now I can Select all their songs but when I click the Enable/Disable button, it just toggles the Enable/Disable option.

It would be better to have a separate Enable and Disable Button to change all at once to what the user wants to do.

Also,

Could we enable CTRL, CTRL-SHIFT, etc Selection? Right now if I just click a song it puts a Check on the Select box. Might as well remove the Select box and highlight the songs like everything else in Windows.

When I clear a search, I cant scroll the list with my mouse button, I need to click a song and then I can scroll but this leaves that song selected and if I scroll down I might not see it is selected.

Checking Select on when just clicking a Song is Dangerous.

Also,

On the Duplicates Tab, if I click on a Song it scrolls to that Song.

"RS1 Compatiblity Songs can not be disabled individually."

You have to do this in Song Packs menu.  Song Packs have to be processed differently than single songs thus the separate menu tab.

"I have an artist I want to Disable all songs for. Since I couldnt disable ODLC before, I had disabled CDLC and had left ODLC enabled. Now I can Select all their songs but when I click the Enable/Disable button, it just toggles the Enable/Disable option."

First search or filter on the artist and then use enable/disable.

I will work on the other issues/comments.

1.4.7.2

- Since past few versions its back to FULL scan after installing new beta even though new install was not selected. It is also forgetting my Columns.

- "First search or filter on the artist and then use enable/disable."

I have done that but the Toggle makes it difficult if some songs are Enabled and some Disabled. It would be better to have a separate Enable and Disable button. This way if the songs are already Disabled they stay Disabled. Also, Select All and Select None would be better to have separate buttons.

- Can confirm Clicking on a song doesnt Check the Select box. Thanks.

- CTRL+Click is Checking the Select Box.

Can we not use the Select Box? In Windows you can select files with CTRL, SHIFT, HOME, etc. which is a universal way of manipulating items.

- Reload All Song Packs Resets the Enable/Disable Settings. Should remember them.

- Tried to disable an ODLC. Gave this error:

This is a Rocksmith 1 Compatiblity Song. RS1 Compatiblity Songs can not be disabled individually. Use SetlistManager to disable all RS1 Compatiblity Songs.

but when I go to SetList Manager, I cant find the song in any of the Song Packs shown.

- CTRL + Click a Song in Duplicates makes the list scroll weirdly.

Cheers.

This is expected behavior. After any significant/major revisions, CFSM will always perform a full rescan.  Only after minor revisions is full scan not performed.

So after filtering then first use 'Select/All None'  and then use 'Toggle Selection'.  This should produce your desired result.

- Can confirm Clicking on a song doesnt Check the Select box. Thanks.
Your welcome.

- CTRL+Click is Checking the Select Box.
This is expected behavior and is described in CFSM Song Manager, General Help.

-Can we not use the Select Box? In Windows you can select files with CTRL, SHIFT, HOME, etc. which is a universal way of manipulating items.
CTRL, SHIFT, HOME in windows folder of files on my machine selects from the cursor location upward to home.  Is this what you mean?   This is a low priority feature if it is.

- Reload All Song Packs Resets the Enable/Disable Settings. Should remember them.
I can not reproduce this behavior.  Plz describe your workflow completely.

This is expected behavior.  Use must use Setlist Manager to enable/disable the entire RS1 Compatiblity Pack  (See the lower right hand corner 'Song Packs' datagrid in Setlist Manager).

- CTRL + Click a Song in Duplicates makes the list scroll weirdly.
This is expected behavior and is described in CFSM Duplicates, General Help.  I am unable to reproduce 'makes the list scroll weirdly.   Plz describe your workflow completely.
