RS2014 re-installation on new computer

unclemiller

Question

Question(s). I'm building a new computer. It's main purpose is to be a Steam platform. I'm looking for advice on how to go about backing up my current RS2014 settings and then re-installing RS2014. I've got all my CDLC (couple hundred songs) already backed up to an external HDD. I'm worried about losing all my riff repeater and DD settings. Also not sure about the .dll thing and bug fixes. I'm behind the times in keeping RS2014 up-to-date so please forgive me.

I've searched the forums and couldn't find any relevant info on doing this. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure you have activated the steam cloud for your save and your profile will be automatically transfered to the other computer so all your progress and game settings are saved by steam and you won't have to worry about it.

For safety you can always back up your profile files which are located in :

"Your Steam installation folder"\userdata\"Your SteamID"\221680\remote

Only thing steam won't do is to put back the dll and save your CDLC.

Hey guys,

Maybe you can help another noob? My Win7 PC crashed and my new one is Win10. Steam won't download RS14, there's no RS file on my HD so no DLL. Does anyone know how to make steam install the game locally (c: drive)???  Thanks!
