MAC Issues and Developer Help

Shaolindelt

Question

Hey Everyone -

I've been using RS2014 for a while on console (PS3/4) and just added it to my Mac OSX and have been working with the CDLC to add to the game.  I've followed the FAQ directions and have been able to pull about 10 songs I've downloaded into the DLC successfully, but have a list of songs I've tried and failed on.

I'm wondering how to troubleshoot these and looking for options.   I have a list of John Mayer songs I've tried to download, and have gotten the PC versions (p_psarc) and tried running the converter to make them MAC versions (m_psarc) and they aren't showing up.  I'm wondering how I maybe should approach these?

Also, looking for some guidance into assisting the community as I'm an IT Project Manager in my real job and would like to help out in contributing to the CDLC community.

@Shaolindeltat the first tab, select import package, then select your _p.psarc file and choose folder to store files it will unpack while doing so. Now you should click save project and save one in folder named after your cdlc. At the top right corner of the creator form you can see PC MAC XBOX PS3 checkboxes, check mac and un-check pc (to speedup a bit creation process).

When it creates file try it in game, it *should* work in rs now, make sure you're putting _m.psarc in your rocksmith dlc folder.

as for converted file you can link me to the cdlc page at CF and I'll try to generate one with my toolkit at windows machine. Would be good to have "converted" and "generated" file to compare what's the difference  :)

@@Shaolindelt grats on the job so you could invest some of your knowledge here, that's good.

So now read this two tutorials again. but TL;DR for them would be: buy a cherub rock and install bypass dll

Another 'common' tutorial http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/
Enjoy :)

Thanks for the welcome!  I did get Cherub Rock and the Bypass DLL and have successfully installed a few CDLC songs (e.g., Dire Straits - Walk of Life).  However, I downloaded some others that were just the PC files (p_psarc) and I used the toolkit to covert them to a MAC file (m_psarc), but they aren't all showing up.  I'm just wondering if there is a good way to troubleshoot those?  One example of one I downloaded the PC file (John Mayer Vultures) and tried converting using the toolkit and it's not showing up.  Just wondering how I should troubleshoot it.

@@Shaolindelt, hm usually we do that kind of troubleshooting, I'd suggest importing that _p.psarc into creator tab and "generate" fresh mac version of the cdlc by checking "mac" checkbox at the top, this way I'm sure it should pop up in game for sure, as for converter I may need to perform tests on it, like it should be 1:1 of the generated and converted files but if it's not I should debug that converter to find out the reason, as for now tell me which version of the toolkit you've picked up wine or mono one?

Ok - perhaps user error!  I took your steps on the import package and messed around a bit with the toolkit.  Now, the versions I'm converting using the converter are popping up without any issue.  I'm 5/5 now so I think we are good!  Appreciate the help!

Now, spend some time on Rocksmith, or start figuring out how to make my own CDLC. . . or should I actually work? B)

@@Shaolindelt skip work, just play some stuff, then find song you love and miss from rs, find tabs, find about 2 to 3 hours of free time, spend those crying and begging(also asking some questions on the road of creating cdlc), then generate one successfully, play it, cry.

:D

Just kidding, creating cdlc of beginner lvl isn't hard and should take you less than a hour at first glance :P

@@Shaolindelt it's no different form Windows side of processing it, just require you to grab mac version of tools, you've got wined toolkit, now download EOF for mac (http://customsforge.com/topic/1529-latest-eof-releases-12-18-2017/), go DL audacity and tuxguitar (maybe guitar pro is an option for you or you've got it already.... same for GoPlayAlong, there's some tutorials here, not necessary to buy it) just in case you could also get cfm for mac

hm as for vocals it's a pain, but you could use UltraStarCreator(not sure if there's one for mac tho)

go here fo all kind of tutorials:
