Hello,

SOmetimes when Im playing rocksmith, the game pauses or "rewinds" in the middle of the game.

Any idea why and how to fix it? Im playing it on Steam.

I tried to reproduce this behavior and couldn't. I thought maybe it was a stuck key on the keyboard, but I think I tried just about every one, with a song playing, and nada. The only time I can think of where the game "rewinds" is in Riff Repeater. Are you sure you weren't in there?

Best bet that he's been caught in riff repeater repeating sections, any other issues never raise up iirc you could have bad audio file that won't you use riff repeater or even pase the game, but that's kinda different issue :)

No no no!! Ok perhaps I didnt use the most precise term.. "rewind" was not the best word.

It's not that the game rewinds.. it is that it freezes or stops for a few seconds.. the music keeps going but visually it is stuck, then when the game continues or keeps going, it starts from when it got stuck in the first place.

@@lokariototal you could use word "glitches" like you can't render frames but sound is ok and then it unglitches and goes on but at different place since it pass that time already. I suggest upgrading your PC or mac for fixing that or reinstall OS so no issues with old driver or overtrashed system with apps. you can also post here your specs like on those tech forums :)

looks like you've got a system bottleneck :P

Short of reinstalling Windows, which is insane :D, and should be avoided at all costs, IMHO.... (if it's Mac maybe it's not so bad?)

I would make sure you don't have a bunch of browser windows open, or apps running in the background. I use a program called Game Booster Beta 3.5 (avoid the later versions) which is supposed to stop unnecessary processes from running in the background, as well.

When I need stuff to run smoother, I crash Firefox (my browser of choice) with Task Manager, via End Process. That way, when I start it back up, it asks if I want to resume the previous session, and that way I don't lose the 50 million browser windows I have open.

Might also suggest running antivirus, anti-spyware, cleanup programs (like CCleaner), anything to avoid an OS reinstall, before you consider that step. Maybe a new sound card even?

I say this as someone who has followed the dreaded "Oh just reinstall Windows" advice and had it not actually help.

I've been running the same copy of Windows 7 for at least 4 years (no re-up since I joined Teh 'Forge), and through a system of doing judicious restore points before I install anything new, and restoring system whenever I discover the thing I just installed isn't something I'm going to keep using, I've been able to keep the same copy of Windows alive and well. I also make sure there's no crap starting up with Windows that I don't need. I also do regular backups to an identical HDD. It's kept in an enclosure that's only powered up when I'm backing up, and I clone the HDD, so if the original breaks, I can just slap the 2nd one in there. Seriously not trying to resintall OS here. LOL

Just my 2 cents.

P.S. I should say, you SHOULD reinstall Windows every now and then, for optimum performance....I just don't LIKE to. On my recording computer/DAW, I have all my program installers socked away, and all my content on a separate drive, so then I could reinstall Windows every day, if need be. My personal PC is like the Wild fucking West, though.

Personal fav of doing disk backup with just clean install of windows, optimized with all the apps installed so if things goes south you could just slap a backup from your early days and all just fine, no need to fiddle around with Powershell or cmd\registry stuff for days...

not sure about your system, maybe it's just hardware, still I've got RS at my 2005 era pc dual core ar 720p and it was good, but about 30 fps vs 60+ now :P

still no issues like you've got, maybe it's just laptop and it thermal trottle like for one guy here (from 2.4 gz to 1.2 ghz) need more info before we could really help you
