As a bare minimum, I need the Guitar Pro file in order to help. Specific details about what is not importing correctly also help me help you.

Guitar Pro 5 glitches when trying to play back this GP5 file so I can't double check what order the measures are supposed to play in. Could anybody confirm how the flow of this song is supposed to be interpreted, ie:

Measure 1->3 (end of first repeat),

1->3 (second repeat),

1->3 (third repeat),

3->24 (end of first repeat),

3->20,

25->34 (skipping measures 21-24 which were in the first repeat's alternate ending),

33-34 (second repeat),

33-34 (third repeat),

35-47 ("Da Segna al Coda" control reached),

15- ???

At this point, Guitar Pro 5 plays to measure 24 to reflect the first repeat's alternate ending, seeks back to measure 33 (the "Da coda" marker) and then repeats measures 33 to 34 undlessly until I stop playback, so not even Guitar Pro knows how to play this arrangement.

It still behaves the same, Guitar Pro can't play it back and it gets stuck endlessly repeating measures 33 and 34. I won't be able to make any progress unless somebody is able to define the order of the measures that are played starting with when the Da Segno al Coda marker is reached.

ok so

BAR   * times you play it

1-2     *    3

3-4     *    1

5-24   *    1

5-20   *    1

25-32 *    1

33-34 *    3

35-47 *    1  (da capo go back to bar 15)

15-24 *    1  (i would cut at bar 20 to go through the 2nd ending directly)

25-32 *    1

48-51 *    1

At least that's how GP6 interpreted it.

I'm not sure how the repeat at 24 and the different ending should actually properly be played as i've never seen any Da Capo in the middle of a repeat figure and GP6 play both ending after the Da Capo which is weird, i would have gone directly to the 2nd ending and then played it all the way through as it did...

You might gain time by laying down the pattern played in the version of the song that you have in a straight forward GP file as this sequence is not clear and will lead to error.

I doubt you are stupid enough to be unable to do some copy pasting in Guitar Pro :)

Note that if you never try to play around with the tool you have, you'll never understand how they work.

PS : Internet is full of stuff that can really help you a lot and tutorial for using GP isn't really missing... AKA Google is your friend!

I was trying to work on this, but it's much easier to simplify a problem when working on a solution. So I created a simplified test:

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/raynebc/DS%20al%20Coda%20test_zpsvebsufsb.jpg

http://www.mediafire.com/download/ktz0f11bzmq8k2o/simplified.gp5

GP5 won't play this back to completion unless I change measure 5 to be both the 2nd and 3rd alternate ending, but playing the last alternate ending (as per @@firekorn 's notes) seems to be the correct behavior. EOF seems to import the measures in the expected order: 1, 2, 3, (first alt ending) 4 (end of repeat), 2, 3, (second alt ending) 5, 6, 7, 8 (D.S. al coda), 3, (skip first alt ending) 5, 6 (da coda), 9.

Is anybody able to create a similar, simplistic GP5 file with a navigational setup that EOF does not import correctly?
