@@sleepy You must have the cheapest guitar acquisition in guitar history, 10 bucks only!! wow, I wish they have garage sales like that here. Was that LP in desperate need of some love or was playable when you got it?

It says Gibson on the truss rod cover so you might be so lucky that you even got a korean one

Took some pics this morning of my beautiful ladies. They are both 2011 ESP Standard Horizons, and are superb instruments. Axemusic.com  here in Canada still has one of each of these in stock as of a couple days ago.

The red FR model is about $2199 and the blue NT is about $1800 . Considering the 2014 models are made the same but with different headstocks, but cost $5000, I would think hmmmm.. wtf. These guitars are 95% as good as the PRS Studio I had, which cost $1400 more. The other 5% is made up by their own electronics and pickups,  which are the best I've heard. Play feel is as good or better on the ESP guitars.

Cheers all.  Vince aka Kasnitch

My parents are actually the ones that found it. They go to quite a few garage/estate sales and are pretty good at spotting deals, haggling, etc. If you're willing to do a little refurb, there are some amazing deals to be had, and not only on intruments.

As for the LP Jr., she does have a few battle scars; there's what appears to be a finish crack on the bass side of the neck right where the headstock joins the neck, but it hasn't affected playability. All we did when they brought her home was polish the frets, clean and oil the fretboard, and change strings...basically gave it a standard setup. I have since then swapped out the tuners for a set from GFS (which made a world of difference in terms of tuning stablility), but it wasn't absolutely necessary. Thanks for the tip re: the truss rod cover, I'll have to do a little research and find out where she's from!

Kasnitch, those are beautiful ESP's. I used to own an early 90's ESP M-2 Custom in Lemon yellow, best guitar I have put my hands on to date; I expect the newer ESP's are only an improvement. bought it used for 300 in '05, traded it for an 87' Ricky 4001. Still a massive regret letting it get away, Rick's come up for sale often but that guitar was something special!

that said, Here's what i'm currently playing (Bass porn heavy!):

What I do most of my recording on,

MIJ Fender Aerodyne Precision Classic, P/J tone, Super thin/light P body, Jazz neck profile, one of my favorite workhorses!

my Eb bass, Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass:

http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k435/Altamont613/Squierjazz_zpsee7b1644.jpg

And the two that don't see the outside world very often, I think both were around 400 models made:

The Boat Anchor! Gibson Silverburst Explorer Bass:

I picked this up because it is identical to Skwisgaar skwigelf's 6-string "Thunderhose" explorer, in bass form. :)

http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k435/Altamont613/Explorer2_zpsa613aea3.jpg

Hipshotted Gibson SG Supreme Fireburst Bass (07' Guitar of the Week promo):

The newest addition, went looking for something that would make it easier to move around, came up with this one.

I love them all but I've really taken to the short scale SG lately, The finish really comes to life in low light situations and it feels like I work less to do more. :)

Those are some sexy bass guitars. That SG made the hair on my arms and neck stand up lolz. I hope she plays as smoking hot as she looks ?

Hello everybody, I'm not an experienced guitar player or anything so I don't really know all that much about the different sort of guitars but I have a Stratocaster ( Mexico edition :) ) which I've spray painted orange, it used to be ordinary black. Well enough said, here it is! http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l274/OliverEr/bild1_zps96a22f31.jpgSorry for the bad quality, only got a shitty iphone 4 to take pictures with

I just started to get into the customs game, so I figured what better way to introduce myself than by showing the guitars, I do plan on streaming at some point (though not right away).

I have 3 main axes and a 4th thats just a sentimental piece cause it was my first real guitar.

I'll just show the main body shots, I have more detailed pics if anyone wants them.

First One: Jackson Kelly JK20 in metallic blue, Student Model, Made in India. added coil splitter, duncan pickups. Same wiring configuration and pickups as Petrucci used in his Ibanez models. My first real guitar.

Second One: Charvel 750XL in Trans Red (Flametop). Semi limited run model made in japan. Superstrat archtop. Custom made pickups

Third One: Custom Built Warmoth. Stacked Tone and Volume Pots, Custom made pickups, Amberburst (quilt top) mahogany body with a Pau Ferro Neck and Kingwood Fingerboard. Meets all Fender replacement part requirements.

Last One: Jackson Custom Death Angel. Trans Green Burst. 5A Quilt Archtop, Koa Neck and Body, Abalone Zig Zag Sharkies, Contoured Bolt Heel, Natural Binding, Ziricote Fingerboard, 3 position spliiter tapped into the 5 blade, allows for 15 or so different pickup configurations. This is my baby, took me about 6 years to get the money together for it when I was in college. And it took them 2 years to build it. One of the last customs before Fender took over. Built by Mike Shannon

@@Khellendros Wow nice guitars, as I can see your are a Jackson guy like me, I have a JS upgraded and I just love the way she plays, I would be happy to have a japanese or USA made cause if the economical line is this good higher level Jacksons must be astonishing players.

What series is your Kelly JK, if its Student model and its made in India I thought it should be a JS series like mine. Also JS series have sharkfin inlays from just a few years ago. My model is the last JS without those inlays.

That Custom seems to be a one of a kind guitar, looks deadly. Lucky you to have a custom Jackson. Its a custom model built for Death Angel?

As I remember it the Kelly is a JK20. I said student but that may have been the performer series, I'm not entirely sure. It was my first guitar and it was a long time ago!

The custom has a interesting story behind it. The Death Angel model was designed by Rob Casteveny from Death Angel. Its one of three artist designed CS only models (the Demon and the Roswell Star/Rhoads designed by Amir Derakh are the other two). And this particular Death Angel of one of only 4 Archtop Death Angels ever made. The other three was a small CS run sold to Drumcity Guitarland that had a trans black flame top and silver cross inlays. So the custom shop called me some time shortly after the guitar was done cause they had summer NAMM coming up and wanted to take it to the show as a custom exhibition model. I was thrilled and said they could. Well after about 4 months of not hearing anything I contacted them and turns out the guitar neck was broken in half during shipping and the neck had to be rebuilt.

It took awhile but I was really happy to get it.. they messed up one small thing. The backside of the body was supposed to be gloss natural instead of green like the top. Its a minor thing, and it does set off the natural binding, but I think it would have looked cooler the way I had original designed it. That being said its by far the best playing guitar I've ever held. And I've held alot over the years. Any CS Jackson or Charvel pre Fender are some of the best guitars ever made.

If you can find one, they made some limited run Charvel exotics. USA made that came from the custom shop. I think there was 5000 produced of each (koa, lacewood, mahogany) and those guitars are absolute beasts and can be found for well under a grand. There was a koa one here at the local guitar center but I didn't jump on it fast enough. It went for 650. And that one was Koa, easily the most valuable of the three.

Even japanese charvels like the 750xl Archtop I have are among the nicest guitars you can find that are made outside the USA.
