Disable DD

Hi all,

 

Has anyone by chance found a way short of using RR or SA to disable DD?  I recently got my first corrupted profile and don't really want to go back through leveling everything back up because it just takes so long.

 

I did some googling and scanning through the reddit but couldn't really find anything so, before I give up, thought I would ask here in case someone had found a solution using something from the expanded set of tools available for making customs.

Yes! This is something I always try telling people. Especially when they complain about DD. It's in my signature, but I'll post it too.  :cool:

 

Don't want DD (Dynamic Difficulty)? Here are simple steps to get rid of DD after starting the song. Note that once the song is changed for no DD it will keep these settings in Riff Repeater forever unless you change it!

• Hit Spacebar for Riff Repeater.
• Then hold 0 to select all Sections.
• Then increase difficulty to 100%.
• Turn off level up (which will also stop from leveling down).
• Now hit Delete to resume song or Esc to restart song.

I have actually been doing it that way but it is kind of a pain since I play through songs somewhat like a hyper-active squirrel.  When I really hunker down on one then this workaround works beautifully but I am holding out hope that there may be more of a global way to do it.

 

As an idea that I haven't had the chance to test (or research) yet is it possible to de-pack a DLC (official and/or Custom), remove DD, and re-pack?

You can use the DDC tab in the Toolkit with option ddc_dd_remover to get rid of DD from a custom. Get the latest Toolkit from my signature and try it out.

 

Not sure if it will only work on songs just made with the DDC (Dynamic Difficulty Creator) though.

Sorry that it took so long to get back to this but this is actually EXACTLY what I was looking for.  I didn't realize that after going through it with riff repeater that your level of success would then carry over to the "normal" Learn a Song mode.
