I have been playing rs2014 for a while on my ps4. I just bought the steam key and downloaded it to my pc. I also bought the cherub rock dlc. I have watched the video from stellar firefly about 100 times and I still cannot seem to get the cdlc or the dlc to work. Im not sure what I am doing wrong. Im not sure which setting to use to open the dlc or cdlc with. I tried using steam, rs, mediaplayer and about every other option. At one point it displayed the dlc (cherub rock) in rs, but it doesn't anymore.  Once I go to my files and go x86-steam-steamapps-rocksmith2014-dlc   and open dlc, I can see the cdlc that I downloaded there but I cannot seem to get it to work. It keeps telling me to make sure steam is running. How do I know if steam is running? I have put in about 10-12 hours so far trying to figure this out and I just cant. Any help/advice would be appreciated. BTW, in case you haven't noticed, I know absolutely zilch about pc's. I just love to play the guitar

Did you put the dll in your game folder? To make sure steam is running, start the steam app. xD

If after that cherub rock still does not show up in game you may need to reinstall.

just restored my pc to default settings and tried to open rs through steam and it said I didn't have an app to open it. I think I may have to call a computer expert and pay $100 to get this thing figured out:(

Yes, I did read the article over and over. I also read a lot of different problems that other ppl were having and none of the simple fixes worked for me. I beat the forums to death before I made a post.

You may need to re-download RS through steam.

well, just figured out the problem. I downloaded 5 songs originally. None of the songs would play. I downloaded about 20 more songs and I now have about 8 songs that will play. Is cdlc really that hit or miss?

No, maybe you just happened to pick all the broken ones, but I think it's more likely that something else is going wrong.
Have you checked the threads of the CDLC that are not working for you? Is anyone else having trouble?
Which songs are not working for you?
