The lyric import doesn't support UTF-8 encoding when multi-byte (ie. foreign or accented character) characters are present. UTF-8 with all standard ASCII characters (all characters are written as a single byte) would probably import fine. I wouldn't expect that the vocal count being wrong would cause any problems. If you can provide that file I can test with it.

@@alex36 you don't have control over the width of the highlight but it is define by what is needed to fill the space between the set FHP and the highest fretted note there.

@@Alex360 If you are talking about the automatic generation of FHP then you have to edit EOF.CFG to edit at which fret EOF will avoid changing the FHP if the note are more than 4 fret apart but that is far from perfect and shouldn't replace making FHP editing by hand afterward anyway.

firekorn's got it. The anchor width (ie. # of highlighted lanes) is determined automatically based on how far away from the current FHP (manually or automatically generated) a note goes. The config file edits mentioned change the FHP generation logic to allow you to define how far you want to consider "normal reach" at various positions on the fret board.

so this: [ https://ibb.co/kuDBF6 ]is how EOF comes up for me.

only way to shut it down is via task manager.

tried running as admin & non, dragging and dropping .wav & .gpx files.

@@raynebc, can we have a syntax sugar for pickscrape slide in eof please? Just another type of slide to add.. usually it's trempick+unpitchedslide and I guess it has string mute sign(that white cross) I'm sure that's should be standardized already :)

@@Alex360 no string mute. A pick slide is mostly done now with all the following status :

2 note on the same fret with the split status

Ignore to make sure it doesn't matter for scores

Tap to indicate that it's the picking hand that should be used

Tremolo status

Unpitch slide

That's mostly based on their most recent display of pick scrape especially in Through The Fire And Flames by Dragonforce.

I suppose we'd need a consensus on what such a technique toggle function would add to best simulate pick scrape in-game. Some supplemental information like scrape direction would have to be prompted for, we'd have to decide whether the author has to specify the stop point of the slide, or if it will implicitly unpitched slide to fret 1 or fret 24 or something.

The really important status are the tap, tremolo and unpitch slide if you ask me, the rest can vary from chart to chart even on ODLC.

As for the ending fret, it's a matter of length so it should be the user choice the same way the user work with unpitch slide on standard note.

I guess there are two approaches here:

1. EOF will have a new status to track pick slide, and during export will convert that to the several mentioned techniques.

or

2. When pick slide status is applied to a note, it will just apply the several statuses immediately.

I'd tend to think #1 is better overall, it just makes it less obvious to the author how it is implemented (if they don't read the changelog/manual).

I'm fine with the first option as it is, it will probably make things simpler for everyone and not everyone care about the underlying status behind this and a user that want to experiment could still make it manually if he wishes.

Ooh, is that what that odd thing is in Goldfinger - 99 Red Balloons? Pick slide?

Hey is there any way I could enable "note tails clickable" at vocal track, since It's viable! ?

also can I remap hotkey for marking section from ctrl+m to ctrl+x ? only for vocal tracks hotkey, please?

When I test it, the existing "Make note tails clickable" preference already works in the vocal track. Did you have something else in mind?

Is there a benefit to changing the keyboard shortcut for marking the section? I could add CTRL+X as a second keyboard shortcut for it I suppose, but otherwise I probably wouldn't remove the existing CTRL+M shortcut because others are probably used to it. Let me know if this is close enough.

@@raynebc well I have razor keyboard with macros keys and I've mapped one at the shift position as ctrl+m hotkey and upper macros as ctrl+z so I'm covered for now but using regular keyboard you'll need 2 hands or good stretch to hit that combination (even with right control+ m way) along right shift like I'm paying octaves on piano

ctrl+x is really good one it's near natural gamin position and ctrl+z is there and you can do it single hand easily :) and maybe I'm missing something but it seems it is, just missed it. I hate another bug when you select group of notes in vocals part click here click there and it transfer first note of the selection to the place you've clicked is there any purpose for this or is it a bug?

Were you unable to reproduce a problem with the "Make note tails clickable" feature?

As for the other issue you mentioned, can you clarify exact steps, ie. are you using CTRL+click or SHIFT+click? Are you clicking on the note head or the tail? I couldn't immediately reproduce this behavior, could you send me a sample project with the minimum steps needed to cause the problem?

@@raynebc, ok I'll try to do so.

about notes tails: hmm it doesn't work without checking "tails" setting in vocals by default maybe there an override?
I'll show you my eof file I'm playing with
plus when nothing selected and you hold shift to select group of words it selects from the firstword till selected one weird, I'd expect it to be more like widnows does with the files, first one if not selected select one like with control then do things hmm

to reproduce bug with clicking do:
select group of notes on vocals track
holding shift click (at empty space) and drag to start of the song
>
it will move selected notes to some random place near your cursor to the left
this is the reason why I never dragging any selected vocals lines since I can easily mess things up

hope that helps!

The "Make note tails clickable" preference is not enabled by default, so you would have to enable that in order to be able to select lyrics by clicking on their tails. Is this what you're referring to?

I can reproduce the issues you described:

1. SHIFT+click on a note or lyric when no notes/lyrics are already selected causes that note/lyric to be selected in addition to all those before it.

2. After using mouse clicks to select one or more lyrics, SHIFT+clicking into empty space in the track can force the selected lyrics to be moved

I'll try to fix those.

I added CTRL+X as an additional shortcut to mark/remark lyric lines.

yess I'd like to have one on by default in lyrics, but it seems  like it's not (since those lil notes so small I can't click it directly :( ) well could be another flag in config for those who' don't like it on vocals but I doubt.

Great news then ;)
I may end up hating less this "add lyrics" process in result! thank you :^3
