Hi first forum post over here, after playing bass for almost a year I am having a hard time finding bass parts that are difficult and interesting enough to make me want  to play them. So if anyone could link me to technical death, progressive metal or anything that's difficult and interesting that would be great.

I am looking specifically for bass guitar.

stuff i already have

all the Death songs (so amazing)

decapitated symmetry of zero (after 2 weeks of practice I am close to being able to play it proficiently.)

mastodon (some are boring but there a few fun tracks to play)

Opeth (these are a ton of fun to play)

porcupine tree

born of Osiris (only one interesting song sadly)

so if you know of anything like these especialy decapitated and death please tell me, that would be awesome  thanks.

If you just want hard stuff you can always look through the championship leaderbord after bass songs where people got lower scores.

There is a link im my sig.

Look at Dream Theater, the bassist can be quite impressive in many songs. In Flames can be quite interesting maybe not that difficult but a lot of fun for sure. Don't know how the bass part of The Faceless are, but guitar is quite hard so it might also worth a look.

How about Rush, Geddie Lee has a lot to offer on Bass, in almost every song, try Villa Strangiato,

it's not death metal or headbanger though

Maxwell Murder by Rancid, has an insane bass solo, as well as coffee shop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Those two are probably the hardest customs out there for bass. Also check out A Wilhelm Scream especially The Horse. Rush, Chili Peppers, Primus, Iron maiden, can't go wrong with any of these. More suggestions to come later.
