New List of EOF Shortcuts after strange input problems

I reworked the F1 - Shortcut Keys to add "Quertz" shortcuts.

I gathered ALL shortcuts, categorized to their usability.

You may replace the "keys.txt" in the EOF folder with this "EOF keys.txt", to make it appear with F1

Or you may use and edit it as a standalone file, and give me recommendations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did this because I was anxious about what happened when I worked in EOF these last days.

(Win 8.1 made an update without my consent)

I felt like in the Twilight Zone    .

First :

the crtl shift buttons remained selected after I released them (Info Panel).

Impossible to work like that. I re-installed EOF, with default preferences : no change.

Solution found : Seems like EOF must now be run as administrator to avoid this.

edit : run as administrator was not a final solution.

"Make the keyboard easier to use" (ease of access center).
Windows update somehow turned on "Toggle keys by holding down NUM Lock for 5 seconds)

seems the solution

Second :

I could not enter a note higher than 19.

Not with the Keyboard (ctrl+F9 -F12), not with the mouse wheel.

A higher number in the note window changed to a muted note !

Solution found:  set the fret limit in "Track>Pro guitar>Set number of frets/strings"

(problem caused when I re-installed EOF)

Seeking for solutions, I found more :

My middle mouse button now works to open the note window (shortcut N)

(in the Logitech setpoint tool, I set it to "generic Button")

1. This must be a Windows 8 specific problem, and perhaps only with certain keyboard software. If any other Windows 8 users can check if they run into this behavior, it would be interesting to know if it's a consistent problem.

2. Re-installing EOF wouldn't cause this. Each track's fret limit is stored within the project file itself.

I'd talked with the original EOF developer before about the purpose of keys.txt, and he didn't intend for it to be a list of all keyboard shortcuts in the editor. It's just meant to give some quick information for new users and to define shortcuts that had nowhere in the menu to be displayed (ie. the shortcuts to change the active difficulty). It would get easy for me to forget to update keyboard shortcuts if I had to change any, and especially if the file contained translations to other layouts I don't use it would be hard to maintain.

As EOF is a hybrid tool for Rhythm Games and Rocksmith.

I'm more or less aware of the Rocksmith functions, though some seem useless or don't work as I imagined.

I tried Popup Messages without success, i.e.

I wondered if my problems came from accidentally hitting a key.

That's why I checked all key commands,

I will keep the RS keys.txt up to date and improve it, now that the toughest work is done.

It would be nice to have a fixed font in the F1 window, to allow an even more schematic presentation.

Some keys on Qwertz keyboards don't work, specially those used for accents like ^ on â.

They are localized above the "return" and next to the "backspace" key.

(the most useful increase anchor value doesn't work)

End & home keys can't be used on short Laptop keyboards.

Unluckily shift+home and shift+end are very useful too to select notes.

Maybe it would be better to avoid or double these keys with a common alternative,

as the number of variations of Quertz, Azerty Querty keyboards seem almost infinite.

Popup messages were a feature used in Rocksmith 1, I don't believe they work in Rocksmith 2 or other games. I've just about given up on trying to make all keyboard commands work nicely in all keyboard layouts because it just doesn't seem plausible with Allegro, it has various problems and limitations.
